Description
Claims (8)
- 単一モード発振のためにレーザをシーディングする方法であって、
単一モード出力のためにシーディングされるレーザシステムを配設するステップと、
前記レーザシステムにシードレーザ放射源を結合するステップと、
前記レーザシステムのキャビティの軸モード間隔を決定するステップと、
複数の離散した周波数を含み、帯域幅が前記キャビティの軸モード間隔にほぼ等しくなるように設定され、前記複数の離散した周波数の間隔を規定する、シードスペクトルを、前記シードレーザ放射源から生成するステップと、
前記シードスペクトルを前記キャビティに注入するステップと、
前記キャビティの軸モードによって前記複数の離散した周波数のうちの少なくとも1つを捕捉するステップと、
を含む方法。 - 請求項1に記載の方法において、前記キャビティの自由スペクトルレンジあるいは軸モード間隔に等しく前記帯域幅を設定することをさらに含む方法。
- 請求項1に記載の方法において、
前記複数の離散した周波数のうちの2つが捕捉されたか否かを判定すること、および
前記複数の離散した周波数のうちの2つが捕捉された場合には、前記シードスペクトルを前記軸モード間隔の半分だけシフトする、
ことをさらに含む方法。 - 請求項3に記載の方法において、前記複数の離散した周波数のうちの2つが捕捉されたか否かを判定するステップはさらに、モードのビートを検知することを含む方法。
- 請求項1に記載の方法において、前記シードレーザ放射源として、少なくとも1つの電気光学位相変調器に結合される連続波単一周波数レーザを配設することをさらに含む方法。
- 請求項5に記載の方法において、第1の電気光学位相変調器を第1の周波数で動作させ、第2の電気光学位相変調器を第2の周波数で動作させることをさらに含む方法。
- 請求項1に記載の方法において、前記シードレーザ放射源として、帯域幅が制御された出力を有するファイバレーザを配設することをさらに含む方法。
- 請求項1に記載の方法において、前記シードレーザ放射源として、半導体レーザを配設することをさらに含む方法。
