Description
The present invention relates to a probe for an OCT (Optical Coherence Tomography) diagnostic imaging apparatus, and more particularly to a probe having a long optical fiber.
In recent years, OCT diagnostic imaging apparatuses using low-coherence light, particularly OCT diagnostic imaging apparatuses that acquire optical tomographic images of tissues to be measured by measuring the light intensity of low-coherence interference light by heterodyne detection, have been used for medical diagnosis. It is being applied.
This OCT diagnostic imaging apparatus divides low-coherence light emitted from a light source such as an SLD (Super Luminescent Diode) into measurement light and reference light, and slightly shifts the frequency of the reference light or measurement light by a piezo element or the like. The measurement light is incident on the tissue to be measured, the reflected light reflected at a predetermined depth of the tissue to be measured is interfered with the reference light, the light intensity of the interference light is measured by heterodyne detection, and tomographic information is acquired. The optical path length of the reference light is the same as the optical path length of the measurement light by slightly moving the movable mirror, etc., placed on the optical path of the reference light and slightly changing the optical path length of the reference light. Information at the depth of the tissue can be obtained.
If such an OCT diagnostic imaging apparatus is used, the object to be observed can be observed with a high resolution of about several tens of μm. As a result, early cancer diagnosis is possible, and the optical tomography in the body cavity is guided by guiding the measurement light and the reflected light of the measurement light with a probe equipped with an optical fiber that can be inserted into the forceps port of the endoscope apparatus. Development of methods for acquiring images is underway.
However, the structure of a probe that is long enough to be inserted into the forceps port of the endoscope apparatus, a mechanism for performing radial scanning by emitting light in a direction perpendicular to the optical axis of the optical fiber, etc. are put into practical use. Specific configurations and mechanisms are still in the development stage.
As a probe in the OCT diagnostic imaging apparatus, it is provided with an optical fiber that guides light from the apparatus main body to the tip of the probe, and when inserted directly into a body cavity or inserted through a forceps opening of an endoscope, It is required to bend along the insertion path, to be resistant to impact caused by contact with a body cavity wall, and to be highly durable, and to measure tomographic images with high accuracy.
The present invention has been made in view of the above circumstances, and an object thereof is to provide a highly accurate probe having excellent durability as a probe of an OCT image diagnostic apparatus for measuring an optical tomographic image. is there.
The present invention divides low-coherence light into measurement light and reference light, scans the measurement light with respect to the object to be observed, and reflects the measurement light from a predetermined depth of the observation object with the reference light. A probe for an OCT image diagnostic apparatus that acquires an optical tomographic image using the interference of
An optical fiber extending from the main body of the OCT diagnostic imaging apparatus to the tip of the probe and guiding the measurement light and the reflected light;
A coating tube in which at least a part of the tip side covering the optical fiber is flexible;
A holding means for holding the optical fiber in a state where the optical fiber is always pulled is provided in the cladding tube.
The probe can be inserted through the forceps opening of the endoscope.
The OCT diagnostic imaging probe of the present invention includes holding means for holding the optical fiber in a state of being always pulled, and the optical fiber is always held in a state of being pulled inside the cladding tube. When the optical fiber is inserted through the forceps port of the endoscope and bent along the insertion path, no force is applied to the optical fiber in the direction of contraction in the optical axis direction because the optical fiber does not loosen inside the coating member. There is no risk of disconnection. In addition, when the tip of the probe comes into contact with the body cavity wall, a force may be applied to the optical fiber in the direction of contraction in the optical axis direction. However, the probe of the present invention is held in a state where the optical fiber is pulled. Therefore, even if such a force is applied, there is a very low possibility that the wire is hardly contracted and disconnected. That is, the probe of the present invention is extremely excellent in durability because the possibility of disconnection of the optical fiber when receiving external force is reduced.
In addition, since the optical fiber is always held in a pulled state, the optical fiber does not loosen inside the covering member even when the probe is bent, and the optical fiber tip is maintained at a fixed position without moving to the probe tip side. In the case where radial scanning is performed by rotating the optical fiber about its optical axis, there is a further effect of suppressing rotational unevenness. Therefore, according to the probe of the present invention, it is possible to improve the tomographic image acquisition accuracy by radial scanning.
Hereinafter, specific embodiments of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings. FIG. 1 is a diagram showing a schematic configuration of an OCT diagnostic imaging apparatus including a probe according to an embodiment of the present invention, FIG. 2 is a diagram showing a side section of the probe, and FIG. 3 is an enlarged diagram showing a side section of a probe tip. 4 is a side sectional view of the drive unit.
The OCT diagnostic imaging apparatus 1 includes an apparatus body 6 including a light source 2, an
The
A
The
In FIG. 2, the natural state of the
The tensile amount is preferably about 0.1% of the natural length of the optical fiber. For example, when a 3 m long optical fiber is used, the amount of tension may be about 3 to 5 mm.
The
As described above, since the
The
The
The rotary encoder detects the rotation angle of the
A
Further, the
In the above embodiment, the probe that performs radial scanning by rotating the optical fiber has been described. However, the present invention is a type of probe that performs radial scanning by rotating a mirror attached to the tip of the optical fiber. Also good. Also in this case, by holding the optical fiber in a pulled state, it is possible to obtain an effect of suppressing the disconnection of the optical fiber as in the probe of the above embodiment.
Hereinafter, the operation of the OCT image diagnostic apparatus provided with the probe according to the embodiment of the present invention will be briefly described.
First, the
The low coherence light emitted from the light source 2 is divided into reference light and measurement light L1 in the interferometer. The reference light is modulated by a piezo element or the like provided on the optical path, and a slight frequency difference Δf is generated between the reference light and the measurement light L1. The modulated reference light is fed back to the interferometer through an optical path delay unit (not shown).
The measurement light L1 is incident on the fixed optical fiber 7 that guides the probe unit through a fiber, a lens, and the like, and further incident on the
The combined reflected light L2 and reference light overlap again on the same axis, and the reflected light L2 and the reference light interfere to form interference light, generating a beat signal. Since the reference light and the reflected light L2 are low coherence light having a short coherence distance, the measurement light L1 (reflected light L2) until the low coherence light is divided into the measurement light L1 and the reference light and then combined. When the optical path length is equal to the optical path length of the reference light, both lights interfere with each other, and a beat signal is generated that repeats the intensity at the frequency difference (Δf) between the interfered lights.
A light detector (not shown) detects the light intensity of the beat signal from the interference light, performs heterodyne detection, detects the intensity of the reflected light L2 of the measurement light reflected from a predetermined depth of the observed object, and the signal processing unit 5 Output to.
Further, based on the instruction of the probe drive control circuit 4, the
The signal processing unit 5 generates an OCT image based on the tomographic information around the observed object detected by the light detection unit.
