乳房は柔軟性に富み患部が容易に動いてしまうので、穿刺にあたっては患部が動かないように乳房を拘束する必要がある。乳房の拘束は施術者の手による狭持あるいは所定の器具による圧迫等によって行われるが、被検者にとって必ずしも快適なものではない。
