Description
【0001】
http://www.mediapj.com/bar.php?kind=01&sno=xxx&bno=yyyyy
http://www.mediapj.com/i=php?k=01&s=19&b=4976680789305
[CM]http://www.mediapj.com/i=php?k=01&s=19&b=4976680789305
【0064】

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a wireless bar code reader used for reading a bar code printed on a newspaper, magazine, inserted leaflet, etc. and accessing a predetermined server.
[0002]
[Prior art]
Many servers are connected to the Internet, and various contents are provided. Various search engines are provided to select and access a desired one of them. Apart from this, URLs are also printed on newspapers, magazines, insert leaflets and the like other than the Internet, and users are called for access. In order for the user to actually access, the contents of the server (Web site) must be attractive and easily accessible.
[0003]
As a technique for facilitating access to a predetermined URL, a barcode is used. That is, a barcode is printed on a paper medium such as a newspaper, a magazine, or a leaflet, read by a barcode reader connected to a personal computer, converted into a URL, and a browser is automatically activated to obtain the URL. Jump. It is an easy and reliable access method and is expected to become widespread in the future.
[0004]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
Conventional barcode readers are difficult to carry because they are connected to a personal computer or the like by electric wires. It would be convenient if the barcode reader could be carried separately from a client such as a personal computer.
[0005]
For example, a bar code of a newspaper or magazine can be read and sent to a nearby personal computer, and a desired home page can be viewed immediately. If you don't have a personal computer but have a mobile phone, you can send a barcode to it. If there are a plurality of clients such as a personal computer, a mobile phone, and a digital TV nearby, the barcode can be transmitted to any of these clients. Furthermore, when a barcode is printed on an outdoor poster or flyer, the barcode can be read immediately on the spot, and the barcode can be transmitted to a personal computer after arriving at the home or office so that a desired homepage can be viewed.
[0006]
Thus, a portable barcode reader can read a barcode regardless of location. Conventionally, a client such as a personal computer using a bar code is started first, then a bar code reader is connected to the client, and then the bar code is read. In other words, the client who uses the barcode first was specified. However, if it is a portable barcode reader, the user can read the barcode and transmit it to a desired client for use without being conscious of which client to use. This is the opposite of the conventional bar code usage procedure.
[0007]
An object of the present invention is to provide a portable wireless barcode reader.
[0008]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
The bar code reader according to the present invention stores a bar code reading unit that reads a bar code, a first table that stores a correspondence between an identifier and a URL of a server, and a second table that stores a list of devices in a wirelessly communicable range. A storage unit for storing a table, an analysis unit for searching the first table based on the identifier to obtain a corresponding URL, a device selected from the list of the second table based on the identifier, and A wireless communication module that transmits the URL together with the code. The wireless communication module transmits an inquiry signal and generates a list of devices in the second table based on a response to the signal.
[0009]

Send the code and the URL,
When the identifier specified by the task change switch is the identifier A, the analysis unit outputs the read barcode to the wireless communication module, and the wireless communication module receives the bar received from the analysis unit. Send the code.
[0012]
Preferably, when the list specified in the identifier is not included in the list of the second table, a display unit for displaying the fact is provided.
[0013]
Preferably, the display unit further displays information on a replaceable device.
[0014]
Preferably, the storage unit stores a priority table that stores connection priority for each device type, and the wireless communication module selects a device from the list of the second table based on the connection priority, The URL is transmitted to the device together with the barcode.
[0015]
Preferably, the analysis unit outputs information indicating that the server is not used to the wireless communication module when there is no corresponding URL.
[0016]
Preferably, the storage unit includes a rewritable memory, and the wireless communication module receives data relating to the first table from the outside and writes the data to the memory.
[0017]
Preferably, the wireless communication module requests the update of the correspondence relationship to the outside at an initial setting, every predetermined period, every predetermined number of times of reading, and at least one timing after accessing a specific server. .

[0031]
In a wireless link known as Bluetooth ™, each electronic device has either a master or slave role. When communication is performed between the master and the slave, the same hopping pattern is calculated and the frequency is synchronized by using the master unique address and the clock value. However, at the initial stage of starting communication, it is necessary to synchronize the hopping pattern by transmitting the master's unique address and clock value to the slave. Therefore, an inquiry procedure or a paging procedure is performed at the communication start stage. Note that the relationship between the master and the slave is only necessary for management of the communication channel by frequency hopping, and is not directly related to the actual communication content. The master-slave relationship is not only one-to-one, but seven slaves can be connected to one master at the same time (to be precise, sharing a communication channel). For example, the barcode reader shown in FIG. 1 is a master, and a personal computer, a mobile phone, and a digital TV are slaves.

[0051]
When sending a barcode number, an optimum client can be selected by specifying an identifier included in the barcode or a task change switch. Clients that are within a wireless communicable range can be selected. For example, the following usage is possible.
・ Read the desired barcode with a barcode reader. Thereafter, a client within a communicable range is selected, and barcode data is transmitted to the client. The client accesses the WWW server corresponding to the barcode.
・ Read the desired barcode with a barcode reader. After that, it moves to a position where it can communicate with a desired client (for example, a personal computer), and transmits a barcode number to the client.
・ Read the desired barcode with a barcode reader. After that, the barcode number is transmitted to the most suitable device available at hand. In this case, a list of available devices may be displayed on the display unit, and one or more may be selected from these.
