Description

【0001】

[Technical field to which the invention belongs]
The present invention relates to a small blood glucose meter for self-measurement that can be easily measured by an individual patient.
[0002]
[Prior art]
For example, there is a portable simple blood glucose meter in which a diabetic patient can measure blood glucose level by himself and display numerical data and character data of the measurement result on a display window.
[0003]
A perspective view of a simple blood glucose meter is shown in FIG. 1 as an example showing the external shape of such a conventional small measuring apparatus. The measurement apparatus main body 1 includes a display window 2 and an insertion hole 3 for connecting a dedicated measurement device A (which is often disposable) with a connector in the apparatus main body 1. The measuring apparatus shown in FIG. 1 is a type that does not require operation buttons.
[0004]
The method of using this apparatus is generally as follows. The user first attaches the measurement device A to the simple blood glucose meter 1 by inserting it into the insertion hole 3. Then, the user collects a very small amount of blood by puncturing his / her fingertip with a puncture tool, and attaches the blood to the tip of the measuring device A. Then, an electrical change due to a series of chemical reactions between glucose in the blood and enzymes in the device A is generated, and the change is calculated in the measuring apparatus 1 and the measurement result is displayed as a numerical value or a character in the display window. .
[0005]
As described above, the conventional small-sized measuring apparatus using the measuring device inevitably requires the work of “mounting the device”.
[0006]
In general, the position of the insertion hole may exist on either the left or right side (x or y in FIG. 2) when the direction of the measurement data displayed on the display window is viewed as shown in FIG. Many. However, at this time, right-handed / left-handed users often have to take the device back by hand when blood is attached, which often causes inconvenience.
[0007]
Specifically, an apparatus designed for a right-handed user has an insertion hole on the left side (x side) in FIG. this is,
(1) In order to hold a puncture tool with the right hand, it is often necessary to hurt the fingertip of the left hand.
(2) Next, in order to collect the blood of the left fingertip, it is necessary to hold the apparatus body with the device attached with the right hand.
(3) Next, while holding the apparatus main body with the device attached with the right hand, the tip of the device is brought into contact with the blood of the left fingertip.
(4) The display direction on the display window at this point must be in the correct vertical direction as seen from the user.
This is because it is designed in consideration of the above.
[0008]
Therefore, when a left-handed user uses this device designed for right-handed use, the data displayed on the display window is held upside down, or the back side of the display window is facing away. In order to be in a state, it must be changed by hand or once placed on the desk.
[0009]
In order to clear this problem, there is also a type of measuring apparatus in which an insertion hole is provided at the position z in FIG. However, the device provided with the insertion port on the upper side reduces the trouble when a user with a different dominant hand inserts it, but when the number is read after the device is inserted and blood is applied to the device, the device eventually becomes the device. It is necessary to turn in a direction that is easy to see.
[0010]
[Problems to be Solved by the Invention]
Accordingly, an object of the present invention is to provide a small blood glucose meter for self-measurement that can be easily used without bothering both right-handed and left-handed users by an unprecedented method.
[0011]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In order to achieve the object, the present invention is a self-measuring small blood glucose meter having a display window on which a measurement device is attached and which can display measurement data, and is attached to the tip of the attached measurement device. Regardless of the direction in which the user attaches a small blood glucose meter for self-measurement, the vertical display direction of the measurement data is always in the correct vertical direction when viewed from the user, so that right-handed and left-handed This is a self-measuring small blood glucose meter that is also used in combination .
[0012]
That is, in the present invention, the self-measuring small blood glucose meter main body is provided so that the insertion hole can be used in the user's preferred direction, and the measuring device is attached to the self-measuring small blood glucose meter main body in that state. In addition, once placed on the desk, even if it is lifted from the desk, even if it changes from the original orientation, the display direction will always face the direction of the user, and the user will feel annoyed. And can be used easily.
[0013]
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
A conceptual diagram of the present invention is shown in FIG. As shown in FIG. 3, even if the small blood glucose meter for self-measurement is rotated 360 ° with the measurement device attached, the display of measurement data always faces a certain direction.
[0014]
The following mechanism is conceivable as a method of keeping the data display direction constant and in the correct direction as viewed from the user.
[0015]
When a user holds a self-measuring small blood glucose meter during observation, the measurement data is often read by holding it at a slightly oblique angle (at an angle at which a book is read). FIG. 4 shows a conceptual diagram. By having the gravity sensor inside the self-measuring small blood glucose meter , the object can be achieved. That is, the direction in which the gravity is directed may be the bottom side of the measurement data display window. In particular, when the display means in the display window is a liquid crystal screen, it is easy to read if it is tilted just like the above-mentioned angle, and it is naturally preferable. Of course, the user may arbitrarily tilt the small blood glucose meter for self-measurement .
[0016]
In rare cases, there is a case where the user attempts to read the measurement data on standing small blood glucose meter for self-monitoring of the horizontal desk, case, square four sides of the small blood glucose meter body for self-monitoring By having a sensor for detecting the heat source in each of these, the direction of the user can be recognized. That is, the direction in which the heat source is present is the direction in which the user is present, and one side thereof may be the bottom side of the measurement data display window.
[0017]
Even if the user places the small blood glucose meter for self-measurement on a flat desk and tries to read the measurement data, the self-measuring small blood glucose meter is lightly tilted and displayed in the desired direction for the user to see. The display direction is locked by some means, and it is allowed to rest on the desk again.
[0018]
It is also possible to recognize the vertical direction of the display in the direction associated with each button by pressing any button on a self-monitoring small blood glucose meter. For example, if one button is provided on each of the four sides of the square-shaped small blood glucose meter body for self-measurement , blood is attached and measurement starts, the user is holding in the direction that the user is holding at that moment If you press the button that is closest to the user, the measurement data display window will be the bottom of the measurement data display window. (Not shown). It is easier to push the button than to rotate the self-measuring small blood glucose meter body in any direction.
[0019]
In the present invention, since the user is often blind because of diabetic neuropathy, after wearing the device while searching for the device insertion hole with a finger, the direction of the small blood glucose meter for self-measurement is not concerned. Without having to do so, you can focus on reading the numerical values displayed in the display window.
[0020]
In the case of a square self-measuring small blood glucose meter , providing device insertion holes on all four sides makes it easier to use. Four connectors are required, but a common arithmetic CPU may be used.
[0021]
The numerical display means in the display window is preferably a liquid crystal dot matrix display rather than a liquid crystal 7 segment display in order to display freely in any direction from four directions. Of course, it is also possible to provide four-direction seven-segment display in one display window and display in any direction. It is also possible to display segments in any direction by overlapping the segments. Four display windows may be provided on the main body. In addition, it is obvious that any display method can be adopted as long as the display method allows the vertical display direction of the measurement data to be freely changed as viewed from the user.
[0022]
【The invention's effect】
When the self-measuring small blood glucose meter of the present invention is used, regardless of the direction in which the user holds the self-measuring small blood glucose meter , the vertical display direction of the measurement data is always the correct vertical direction as viewed from the user. Therefore, both right-handed and left-handed users can easily use it without feeling bothered.
