Duty=0.0461Ed2−4.720Ed+136.13
【0041】
Duty=0.0401Ed2−4.149Ed+164.9
【0042】
Duty=0.0423Ed2−4.353Ed+192.7
【0043】
Duty=0.04(Ed−λ/8n)2+f(Gd)

[Problems to be solved by the invention]
As described above, according to the DVD-RW disc, since the embossed pit row 4 is embedded in the control data zone, even if the DVD-Video disc is illegally copied by bit-by-bit, Reading of data overwritten in the control data zone is prevented by reproduction output by the embossed pit row 4, and illegal copying is invalidated. However, since the DVD-RW disc configured as described above has the embossed pit row 4 formed, the radial push-pull signal level in the control data zone (second region) is recorded on the recording information. This decreases the radial push-pull signal level in the first region, causing a problem that causes unstable operation of the tracking servo circuit, spindle servo circuit, etc. in the recording / reproducing apparatus.
[0005]
The present invention has been made in view of the above problems, and an object of the present invention is to obtain a constant radial push-pull signal over the entire disk and to keep the operation of the servo circuit in the recording / reproducing apparatus stable. It is an object of the present invention to provide a possible optical recording medium, an optical recording medium manufacturing apparatus and an optical recording medium manufacturing method for forming such an optical recording medium.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
Hereinafter, preferred embodiments of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings. An embodiment in which the present invention is applied to a DVD-RW disc (hereinafter abbreviated as DVD-RW), which is one of optical recording media capable of optically recording recording information, will be described.
[0013]
First, a DVD-RW recording format will be described with reference to FIGS. FIG. 1 is a diagram showing a physical recording area on the DVD-RW after video information is recorded in accordance with the DVD-RW format.
[0014]
As shown in FIG. 1, in the information area of the DVD-RW, a lead-in area, a data area, and a lead-out area are recorded in order from the start point of the information area (start point of the physical sector) outward in the radial direction. Yes. The lead-in area is an area that is first accessed during recording and reproduction of a DVD-RW, and records physical information about the DVD-RW such as a disk size, a minimum reading rate, and a disk structure. The data area is an area in which content, that is, recording information is mainly recorded. For example, the content to be recorded includes image data, audio data, or computer-readable data or programs. The lead-out area is an area following the data area, and data [00h] indicating the end of recording is recorded for a predetermined period.
[0015]
FIG. 2 is a diagram showing a structure in the lead-in area. In the lead-in area, an initial zone in which data [00h] is recorded, a reference code zone in which data for generating a specific channel bit pattern (3T-6T-7T) is recorded, and data [00h] are recorded. The
[0016]
The control data zone is located at the same address as the control data zone in the DVD-Video disc as described above, and the control information recorded in advance in this zone is embedded as an embossed pit string. Therefore, in this zone, even if other data is overwritten and recorded, reading of the data is hindered by reproduction output by the embossed pit string.
[0017]
Next, a recording format of pre-information recorded in advance on the DVD-RW will be described with reference to FIG. In FIG. 3, the upper row shows the recording format in the recording information, and the lower waveform shows the wobbling waveform indicating the wobbling state (plan view of the groove track) of the
[0018]
The recording information recorded on the DVD-RW is divided in advance for each sync frame as an information unit as shown in FIG. One sync frame has a length of 1488 times (1488T) of a channel bit length (hereinafter referred to as T) defined by a recording format when recording information is recorded, and is the first 32T of one sync frame. The length portion is used as synchronization information SY for synchronizing each sync frame.
[0019]
The pre-information recorded on the DVD-RW is recorded for each sync frame. When pre-information is recorded on the DVD-RW, one pre-pit B2 is always formed on the land track adjacent to the area where the sync information SY of the sync frame is recorded, indicating the sync signal in the pre-information, On the land track adjacent to the first half of the sync frame other than the sync information SY, two or one prepits (B1, B0) are formed to indicate the contents of the preinformation to be recorded.
[0020]
Normally, pre-information is recorded by forming pre-pits in even-numbered sync frames (hereinafter referred to as EVEN frames). That is, in FIG. 3, a pre-pit is formed in the EVEN frame (indicated by a solid line upward arrow in FIG. 3), and no pre-pit is formed in the adjacent ODD frame. More specifically, when pre-pits are formed in the EVEN frame, all pre-pits (pre-pits B2, B1, and B0) are formed in the first sync frame of the recording sector, and in the sync frame other than the first of the recording sector, When the pre-information to be recorded in the sync frame is “1”, pre-pits B2 and B0 are formed. When the information to be recorded is “0”, only the pre-pit B2 is formed.
[0021]
On the other hand, when forming prepits in odd-numbered sync frames (hereinafter referred to as ODD frames), prepits B2 and B1 are formed in the first sync frame of the recording sector, and in the sync frames other than the first in the recording sector, It is formed in the same manner as the EVEN frame.
[0022]
Which sync frame of the EVEN frame / ODD frame is formed with the prepit is determined depending on the position of the prepit formed in advance on the adjacent land track. That is, the pre-pit is normally formed in the EVEN frame, but when the pre-pit is formed in the EVEN frame, when the pre-pit on the adjacent land track formed in advance is close in the disk radial direction, the pre-pit is formed in the ODD frame. Is formed. By forming the pre-pits in this way, there is no pre-pit at the adjacent land track position, so that the influence of crosstalk can be avoided in detecting the pre-pits.
[0023]
On the other hand, the groove track is wobbled at a constant wobbling frequency f0 of 140 kHz (frequency at which eight wobble signals are included in one sync frame) over all sync frames. The recording / reproducing apparatus extracts a signal for controlling the rotation of the spindle motor by extracting the constant wobbling frequency f0, and generates a recording clock signal.

7 to 9 show emboss pits for obtaining the radial push-pull signal level in the same emboss pit row as the radial push-pull signal level in the groove track when the groove track depth Gd is fixed to a predetermined depth. The relationship between the row depth Ed and the average duty ratio is obtained by simulation, and this is graphed. The horizontal axis represents the depth Ed [nm] of the embossed pit row, and the vertical axis represents the embossed pit row. Average duty ratio [%] is shown.
[0040]
FIG. 7 shows an example when the groove track depth Gd is 10 nm. In FIG. 7, for example, when the depth Ed of the embossed pit row is 15 nm and the average duty ratio of the embossed pit row is 76%, the radial push-pull signal on the groove track and the radial push on the embossed pit row The level of the pull signal becomes the same. When the depth Ed of the embossed pit row is 30 nm, the level of both radial push-pull signals is the same if the average duty ratio is 36%. FIG. 7 is a graph obtained in this manner, and a quadratic curve having a minimum average duty ratio is obtained when the depth Ed of the embossed pit row is approximately 50 nm (more precisely, 51.4 nm). The quadratic curve obtained here can be approximated by
[Formula 7]
Duty = 0.0461Ed 2 -4.720Ed + 136.13
[0041]
FIG. 8 shows an example when the groove track depth Gd is 20 nm. FIG. 8 is a diagram in which the result of simulation performed in the same procedure as described with reference to FIG. 7 is plotted. The graph of FIG. 8 shows the average duty ratio of the embossed pit row when the average duty ratio of the embossed pit row is larger than that of the example shown in FIG. 7 and the depth Ed of the embossed pit row is about 50 nm. A minimized quadratic curve is obtained. The quadratic curve obtained here can be approximated by
[Formula 8]
Duty = 0.0401Ed 2 -4.149Ed + 164.9
[0042]
Similarly, FIG. 9 shows an example when the groove track depth Gd is 30 nm. Compared to the example shown in FIG. 8, the average duty ratio of the embossed pit row is further increased, and when the depth Ed of the embossed pit row is about 50 nm, a quadratic curve that minimizes the average duty ratio of the embossed pit row is can get. The quadratic curve obtained here can be approximated by
[Formula 9]
Duty = 0.0423Ed 2 -4.353Ed + 192.7
[0043]
FIG. 10 is a plot of the minimum value f (Gd) of the average duty ratio of the embossed pit rows shown in FIGS. 7 to 9, with the horizontal axis indicating the groove track depth Gd and the vertical axis indicating the minimum value f ( Gd). The quadratic curve obtained here can be approximated by
[Formula 10]
f (Gd) = − 0.07 Gd 2 + 6Gd-35.6
[0044]
The average duty of the embossed pit row when the groove track depth Gd and the embossed pit row depth Ed are selected can be approximated by the following equation (11).
[Formula 11]
Duty = 0.04 (Ed-λ / 8n) 2 + F (Gd)
Here, λ is the wavelength of the light beam [nm], n is the refractive index of the substrate of the DVD-
[0045]
For example, if the groove track depth Gd = 30 nm, the embossed pit row depth Ed = 50 nm, and λ / 8n = 51.4 nm, f (Gd) = 81.4 nm can be obtained from
