【発明の目的】
この発明は、車椅子や平行棒等の歩行用補助器具類を使用しなければ自立歩行が困難な状態の人が、身体を自らの腕によって支えながら所定範囲内に限って自力歩行が可能となるようにする歩行補助具に関するものであって、特に、病み上がりや療養中の人が、ベッドからその周辺の所定範囲内おいて、予め所望する方向に向けて任意に選択、設置しておくことにより、自在にそれに伝ってベッド周辺所望の位置にまでは安全に自立歩行移動ができるようにする新規な構造からなるベッド用手摺を提供しようとするものである。

【従来の技術】
歩行が困難になった高齢者や長期間の療養を余儀無くされている人、あるいは、長期間ではないものの、術後であったり、脚、腰に障害があって自立歩行が困難になっている人等が、ベッドの上にだけ止まって寝たきりの生活を続けてしまうと、床擦れを起こしたり、知的能力の低下や視力、聴力を始めとする知覚能力の低下、心肺機能の低下の外、胃腸障害による便秘、下痢を伴う排便機能の低下等、様々な廃用症候群を招くこととなって、状態を悪化させてしまうという悪循環が懸念される外、それらの人々が自らの希望でベッド周りの特定の場所に移動しようとしても、そのときにそばに介護者が滞在していてくれない限り、その目的を達成することができないという不便さに苛立ち、精神的負担が募って穏やかな生活や療養ができなくしてしまうという不都合も危惧される。

こうした状況から少しでも脱却して上記のような弊害から逃れるようにするには、それが上半身を起こしてベッド脇に両足を下ろすという基本的な動作すら困難な人の場合はともかくも、老齢化からくる人や長期療養中の人、あるいはその他の理由による人等であれ、単に自立歩行だけが困難な状態に陥っている人の場合である限り、仮令近くに介護人が不在であったとしても、自らの意志でベッドから可能な限り離れて移動しようとする意志と行動とが不可欠とされるが、こうした場面に置かれている人々の現状では、そうした意志と行動とを適えられるようにする施設、設備は整っておらず、大概の場合、介護者による手助けや移動用リフトの使用等が必要となり、ベッドから離れるには、介護者の多大な努力と時間とを要することとなる。

そのため、こうした介護人の付き添いをできるだけ減らすようにする歩行用補助器具類も実際に開発、提供されているものの、それらは概して大掛かりなものであって高価につく上、国内の住宅事情からしてそれら歩行器や平行棒等の歩行用補助器具類を一般家庭に持ち込んで利用することは空間的にも経済的にも困難な場合が多く、また、このようなリハビリ用の施設が充実している病院や老人ホーム等にあっても、自立歩行が困難な障害者が、ベッドから離れるために立ち上がってベッド周り所定範囲内にまで自らの力で移動し得るようにした設備を用意してある施設は少なく、また、それらの容易がある施設であっても、極めて選択範囲は少ないか、極端に範囲が狭いものに限定されてしまっていた。

こうした弊害に対処してベッド付近での移動を補助するものとして、例えば特開2002−70276号公報の「簡易な手すり装置」発明に見られるものように、柱間に通した索体に滑り子を貫通させ、索体の一端を固定金具に固定すると共に、他端を巻取りプーリーに懸架してハンドルによって緊張させた上、滑り子はその握り部の中心部位に索体を通して索体との固定のためにネジを設けた構造とし、利用者は、手摺を形成する滑り子を掴んで索体に沿って歩行、移動することができ、しかも、不要時には、ネジを緩めて索体から滑り子を取り外して邪魔にならないようにした構造のもの等の提案も散見される。

しかし、この「簡易な手すり装置」発明にしても、索体を掛け渡すために二本の柱を必要とするため設置場所に制限があり、索体を確りと緊張させるためにも、これらの支柱が床面上に強固に立設されるか、あるいは建物自体の壁や柱等に固着した構造としなければならず、設置作業には専門の業者による作業が不可欠となることが予想される上、設置した後には容易に撤去したり、索体の設置範囲を変更したりすることができないという欠点をもつものであって、この発明に代表されるとおり、従前からのこの種器具類は、その取扱い操作性や経済的負担等の点で未だまだ相当の改善の余地を残すものとなっていた。

この発明は、以上のとおり、これまでのところベッド周辺の細かな移動を補助する簡便で経済的負担も少ないこの種器具類の開発、提供が長い間等閑にされてきていたという実情に疑問を抱き、歩行が困難な者であっても安全に自立歩行できるようにし、歩行練習や洗面や収納等のための移動といったベッドから離れる行為を、介護者の力を借りずに自らの意志と行動とで行うことができるようにした介護用品を提供できないものかとの判断から、逸速くその開発、研究に着手し、長期に渡る試行錯誤と幾多の試作、実験とを繰り返してきた結果、今回、遂に新規な構造からなるベッド用手摺を実現化することに成功したものであり、以下では、図面に示すこの発明を代表する実施例と共に、その構成を詳述することとする。

【発明の構成】
図面に示すこの発明を代表する実施例からも明確に理解されるように、この発明のベッド用手摺は、基本的に次のような構成から成り立っている。
即ち、左右支柱を有していて略横転[型状とし、ベッドのサイドフレームに取着、立設する保護枠と、該保護枠の左右何れかの支柱に併設する基端支柱の上端から横方向に延ばして手摺杆とした後、その先端を下方垂直方向に延伸して床面に到達する長さとし、その下端に支脚部を形成して自由端支柱としてなる手摺枠と、該手摺枠の自由端支柱に併設可能とする連結支柱を有し、同連結支柱の上端から横方向に延ばして手摺杆とした上、その先端を下方垂直方向に延伸して床面に到達する長さとし、その下端に支脚部を形成して自由端支柱としてなる延伸用手摺枠とからなり、保護枠と手摺枠との間、および該手摺枠と同手摺枠に適宜必要に応じて連結していくこととなる延伸用手摺枠との間や、該延伸用手摺枠と同延伸用手摺枠に適宜必要に応じて連結していくこととなる他の延伸用手摺枠との間に、垂直軸周りでの回動を可能にする連結機構を夫々介在して相互を連結し、ベッドから横方向に離れた所望の位置に向け、平面視L字配置平面視レの字配置平面視コの字配置、その他平面視屈折配置となして手摺を自在に延伸させた配置がなし得るようにした構成を要旨とするベッド用手摺である。

保護枠は、ベッドのサイドフレームにおける所望する適所に対して一体的に取り付け、仮固定状され、これを基端部として手摺枠、さらにそれに延伸用手摺枠を次々に連続して繋げていくようにすることにより、手摺枠ならびに延伸用手摺枠が、ベッドに支持された状態で所望する方向に所望の配置で連結、延伸していくことができるようにする機能を果たすと共に、ベッド上からの利用者の不用意な転落を防止する機能をもはたすことになり、したがって、これら連結される手摺枠や延伸用手摺枠を十分な強度で支持可能な程度の剛性を確保したものとしなければならず、左右支柱の下端は、ベッドのサイドフレームに着脱自在で確実に連結可能な構造を有したものとし、また、その横杆が、主にベッド上に止まる利用者用の手摺として、またベッド上に横架されるテーブル支持部となり得る構造のものとすべきであり、側面形が略横転[型状とした上、必要に応じて略横転[型状とした枠内側の左右支柱間に、網または柵形状をなしてベッド上からの物品の転落を防止する構造のものとすると好都合のものとなる。

手摺枠は、保護枠の左右何れかの支柱に連結し、該保護枠を支持部として立設状になってベッドから所望する方向に向けて所定長さ分だけ延び、上記保護枠の横杆と略同じ高さとなるよう手摺杆を高さ調整したものとすることにより、人は、自らの手を使って保護枠横杆から手摺枠手摺杆伝いに自立歩行移動を可能にすると共に、さらに必要がある場合には、延伸用手摺枠を連結、支持可能とするようにした機能を果たすものであり、保護枠の左右何れかの支柱から、所定長さの手摺杆を横方向に伸ばし、該手摺杆を所定荷重に耐える強度に支持可能とすると共に、同手摺杆の遊端側には、延伸用手摺枠を連結可能とする連結機構を設け、保護枠の支柱に併設状となる基端支柱と、手摺杆の遊端から下方垂直方向に延伸され、床面に到達する長さに調整可能とする支脚部を設けた自由端支柱とを有するものに形成されなければならない。

したがって、基端支柱と保護枠との間、および自由端支柱と延伸用手摺枠の基端支柱との間には、夫々垂直軸周りに回動可能な連結機構を設けたものとしなければならず、自由端支柱と支脚部との間には、支脚部の下方への突出量を調節可能とし、且つ仮固定可能とする長さ調節の機構を設けるべきであり、全体の剛性を確保するために基端支柱下端付近と自由端支柱適所とを連結し、上端手摺杆と共に正面口形状をなすよう連結するのが望ましく、支脚部下端には、床面上を容易に移動可能とするキャスターや滑り止め用の合成樹脂キャップを装着したものとすることができる。

延伸用手摺枠は、手摺枠の自由端支柱に連結支柱を連続するよう併設されることにより、手摺杆を延長させ、手摺杆の決められた巾だけではベッドからの延伸長が足らず、ベッドから所望する位置、方向に達し得ないときに、それを補うようにする機能を果たすものであり、基本的に手摺枠と略同一の構成によるものとすることが可能である外、連結支柱および自由端支柱の上端間に手摺杆を形成し、下端の夫々には下方垂直方向に延伸され、床面に到達する長さとする支脚部を設けたものとすることが可能であり、少なくとも連結支柱に、連結機構の一部を設け、手摺枠の自由端支柱に回動自在に連結可能とすべきであり、必要に応じて自由端支柱にも連結機構の一部を設け、連結支柱を、手摺枠の自由端支柱、または同一構造に形成された延伸用手摺枠の自由端支柱に回動自在に接続可能としたものとすることができる。

図1のベッド用手摺の斜視図、図2の分解状態にある保護枠の斜視図、図3の分解状態にある手摺枠の斜視図、図4の分解された延伸用手摺枠の斜視図、図5の分解された連結機構の斜視図、図6の他の連結機構の断面図、および図7の連結機構外観の斜視図に示される事例は、ベッドのサイドフレームに立設された保護枠と、該保護枠のベッド中央寄りに位置する支柱に併設された基端支柱上端から手摺杆を略水平状に延伸し、その自由端から自由端支柱を下方に向けて延伸させると共に、床面に到達する支脚部を形成して自由端としてなる手摺枠と、該手摺枠の自由端支柱に併設された連結支柱を有して手摺枠と略同一の構造とした延伸用手摺枠を設け、保護枠と手摺枠、および手摺枠と延伸用手摺枠との間の夫々に連結機構を介して垂直軸回りに回動可能に連結した基本的構成からなるこの発明のベッド用手摺における代表的な一実施例を示すものである。

当該ベッド用手摺1は、保護枠2、手摺枠3および延伸用手摺枠4の代表的な三つの部品から成り立ち、保護枠2は、図2中に示す通り、約400mmの間隔を隔てて平行且つ垂直に配置された500mm前後の長さ寸法に設定された左右支柱21,21を有し、これら左右支柱21,21の上端間には、略水平状の横杆22を横架し、一体化したものとされ、各支柱21,21の下端には外径寸法を縮小化させた装着端23,23を同心状に突出形成し、ベッド6のサイドフレーム61に凡そ400mmの間隔を隔てて穿孔された装着孔62,62に対し、上方から下向き嵌合状に装着することができるよう形成され、それら装着端23,23の先端部には、夫々取付け固定用の締付けネジ63,63を、サイドフレーム6の下側から螺着可能な雌ネジ24,24が刻設されたものとなっている。

保護枠2は、図1中に示されるように、左右支柱21,21と横杆22とによって横転[型状としたものとすることができる外、図2中に示すように、上下所定寸法置き毎に、上下複数本の横杆を横架したものとすると共に、最下位の横杆とその直上の横杆との間に柵状をなす複数の短尺縦杆25,25,……を形成してベッド6上からの布団や物品類の落下を防止できるよう形成したものとすることができる。また、該保護枠2の左右支柱21,21の夫々の外側所定高さ位置には、連結機構5の一方の一部を形成する垂直状の軸受け筒部51が一体に固着、形成されたものとなっている。

手摺枠3は、図3に示すように、上下寸法が凡そ350mm前後に設定され、垂直状姿勢とされた基端支柱31を有し、その上端から下端にかけて略等間隔を隔てて略水平姿勢とした長さ約400mm前後の横杆(手摺杆の機能も有する)32,32,32の一端が夫々結合されると共に、これら横杆32,32,32の他端には、該基端支柱31と略同じ長さ寸法に設定され、垂直状姿勢の自由端支柱33が結合されたものとされ、これら基端支柱31および自由端支柱33の上端に形成された開口には、横杆32と略同じ横長寸法に設定された脱着型手摺杆34の両端に形成された、下向き細棒状の装着端35,35が、十分な長さを有して脱着可能に装着できるものとなっており、脱着型手摺杆34を取り去ったときの、基端支柱31および自由端支柱33の上端開口には、夫々閉鎖用キャップ36、36を嵌合状に装着して閉鎖することが可能なものとなっている。

自由端支柱33の下端開口には、この開口寸法よりも僅かに小径に寸法設定された支脚部37の上端が、伸縮自在状に装着され、外径側から自由端支柱33の肉厚を貫通するよう螺合した仮固定ネジ38(仮固定機構を形成する)によって締め付けることにより、該支脚部37の延伸状態を仮固定可能とするものとし、支脚部37の伸縮調整によって基端支柱31および自由端支柱33の上端高さ、あるいは脱着型手摺杆34を装着した際の脱着型手摺杆34の支持高さを、歩行の補助に好適な凡そ700mm〜900mm前後、望ましくは750mm〜850mm前後に設定可能なものとされている。

連結機構5は、図5中に示すように、軸受け筒部51の上側周縁の周回りの所定単位角度とする例えば30゜(あるいは90゜)毎の位置に夫々縦溝53,53,……を形成し、これに上方から装着する下向き軸部52の外周面適所の一ヵ所もしくは複数箇所には、任意に選択された縦溝53に嵌合可能な係合用凸部54が突設形成され、仮固定機能を有するものとなっている。また、図6中に示すように、軸受け筒部51の肉厚を貫通して螺着する締付けネジ55を設けて同締付けネジ55の先端が、下向き軸部52の外周面に圧接状となって仮固定するか、あるいは下向き軸部52外周面の、垂直軸周りの所定単位角度とする例えば30゜(あるいは90゜)毎の夫々に、ネジ先端が嵌合可能な図示しない凹欠部または貫通孔を形成してなる仮固定機構を有するものとすることも可能である。
