第3にφ=α±arc・cos{cos(θ)/sin(β)},G(ベクトル)=(0,cos(φ),sin(φ))が得られる。
【0046】

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention belongs to a small electro-magnetic compass capable of detecting the earth's magnetic pole azimuth and displaying it three-dimensionally without depending on the inclination, and calculating the earth's magnetic pole azimuth for a magnetic sensor device capable of correcting the inclination according to the use conditions. Regarding the method.
[0002]
[Prior art]
In recent years, portable devices typified by cellular phones and PDAs (personal digital assistants) have been developed that use a GPS for obtaining position information and a magnetic compass for navigating azimuth angles.
[0003]
In the case of such a portable device, a magnetic sensor device is provided as an electronic magnetic compass for displaying the earth magnetic pole direction (also simply referred to as a magnetic direction). However, in general, the portable device itself is often tilted and used. In addition, if the information including the tilt angle is required, a tilt sensor is provided in the magnetic sensor device, and the tilt angle acquired by the tilt sensor is replaced with a tilt vector, and then the geomagnetic vector obtained from the three-axis magnetic sensor is changed to the tilt vector. It is possible to detect the earth magnetic pole direction by removing the components along the line. Incidentally, since there is a great demand for downsizing in recent portable devices, the smallest semiconductor capacitance type tilt sensor is often used as the tilt sensor for obtaining the tilt angle.
[0004]
By the way, when detecting the earth magnetic pole direction in the magnetic sensor device, if the gravitational vector is obtained by the tilt sensor, it becomes possible to calculate the earth magnetic pole direction from the geomagnetic vector obtained by the three-axis magnetic sensor. If the gravity vector of

[Problems to be solved by the invention]
In the case of the magnetic sensor device that is a magnetic compass for displaying the earth magnetic pole direction provided in the portable device described above, a tilt sensor for performing tilt correction is required in addition to the three-axis magnetic sensor for calculating the earth magnetic pole direction. Therefore, the deployment of these two sensors is a factor that increases the scale and weight of the entire device, and as a result, meets the demands for miniaturization and weight reduction in portable devices equipped with magnetic sensor devices. There is a problem that has become difficult.
[0006]
Also, in the case of a portable device equipped with a magnetic sensor device, as the size and weight are reduced in general, there are more opportunities for the user to hold it with one hand during use. Therefore, it is necessary to have a magnetic sensor device with a tilt correction function that is optimal for the method of use. The present situation is that the earth magnetic pole direction calculation method for magnetic sensor apparatuses has not been proposed.
[0007]
The present invention has been made to solve such problems, and its technical problem is that it can be optimally corrected for inclination under use conditions that are frequently assumed as a method of use, and is mounted on a portable device. It is an object of the present invention to provide a method for calculating the earth magnetic pole direction for a magnetic sensor device that can realize the reduction in size and weight required in such a case.
[0008]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
According to the present invention, when the earth's magnetic field is calculated by detecting the earth's magnetic field using a three-axis magnetic sensor, the geomagnetic vector obtained from the three-axis magnetic sensor and the vector G having a predetermined angle α specified in advance are specified. The earth magnetic pole direction calculation method for a magnetic sensor device can be obtained from a vector substantially orthogonal to the axis X.
[0009]
According to the present invention, in the earth magnetic pole direction calculation method for a magnetic sensor device, the predetermined angle α is substantially equal to an angle formed by a geomagnetic vector and a vertical vector from the ground. A direction calculation method is obtained.
[0010]
Furthermore, according to the present invention, in any one of the magnetic pole direction calculation methods for a magnetic sensor device described above, the specific axis X is the main rotation in a situation where a substrate to which a three-axis magnetic sensor is attached is actually used. The earth magnetic pole azimuth calculation method for a magnetic sensor device, which is assumed to be an axis substantially parallel to the ground among the axes provided for the above, is obtained.
[0011]
In addition, according to the present invention, in any one of the magnetic pole direction calculation methods for the magnetic sensor device described above, when there are two candidates for the vector G, the magnitude of the geomagnetic vector is obtained. A first process that does not change the vector G unless the difference value obtained by comparison with a predetermined size is equal to or less than a predetermined value, and the one closest to the vector G obtained last time is selected. A second process that selects the one that is closer to the angle of 30 degrees with respect to the substrate on which the three-axis magnetic sensor is mounted when the vector G is not uniquely determined and there is no history data. In this order, the earth magnetic pole direction calculation method for the magnetic sensor device is obtained. In this earth magnetic pole direction calculation method for a magnetic sensor device, the prescribed size in the first process is approximately equal to the size of the geomagnetic vector, and the difference value is approximately equal to 1/3 of the size of the geomagnetic vector. [0015]
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the drawings.
[0016]
First, a technical outline of the earth magnetic pole direction calculation method for the magnetic sensor device of the present invention will be briefly described. In this earth magnetic pole direction calculation method, when the earth magnetic field is calculated by detecting the earth's magnetic field using a three-axis magnetic sensor, a geomagnetic vector obtained from the three-axis magnetic sensor and a vector G having a predetermined angle α specified in advance are obtained. This is obtained from a vector substantially orthogonal to a specific axis X. However, the predetermined angle α is assumed to be substantially equal to the angle formed by the geomagnetic vector and the vertical vector from the ground, and the specific axis X is a situation in which a board with a 3-axis magnetic sensor is actually used. It is assumed that the shaft is substantially parallel to the ground among the shafts used for main rotation.
[0017]
Further, in this earth magnetic pole direction calculation method, when there are two candidates for the vector G, the difference value obtained by calculating the magnitude of the geomagnetic vector and comparing it with a predetermined size. A first process that does not change the vector G unless it is less than a certain value, a second process that selects the vector G that is closest to the previously obtained one, the vector G is not uniquely determined, and When there is no history data, the third processing for selecting the one closer to the angle of 30 degrees with respect to the substrate to which the three-axis magnetic sensor is attached is determined in this order as the priority order. It is assumed that the prescribed size in the first process is substantially equal to the magnitude of the geomagnetic vector, and the difference value is substantially equal to 1/3 of the magnitude of the geomagnetic vector.
[0018]
Further, the triaxial magnetic sensor uses a geomagnetic sensor chip having an angle of about 35 degrees with respect to the mounting surface of the substrate and arranged so as to form a substantially equilateral triangle with each other, or with respect to the longitudinal direction. It is assumed that a magnetic impedance sensor using the fact that an impedance changes with respect to an external magnetic field when a high-frequency current of 1 MHz or more is applied to an elongated magnetic body having an easy magnetization axis in a vertical direction is used.
[0019]
In the magnetic sensor device to which the earth magnetic pole direction calculation method for such a magnetic sensor device is applied, it is possible to perform optimum tilt correction under the usage conditions that are frequently assumed as a usage method such as when the user holds it with one hand at the time of use. In addition, the size and weight required when mounted on a portable device can be realized.

Therefore, if a vector parallel to the direction of gravity and having a magnitude of 1 is G, the product M · G between the magnetic vector M is expressed by the following equation (5).
[0035]
[Equation 5]
[0036]
The depression angle should be equal to 90−θ [deg]. Since θ is known if the dip angle is given in advance, if the remaining magnetic vector M is known, the direction of the vector G can be specified without using a tilt sensor. As apparent from FIG. 7, since the direction of the vector G is always perpendicular to the X axis, it exists in the YZ plane.
[0037]
Therefore, in order to set the magnetic vector M as the reference vector m, the reference vector m is defined by the following equation (6).

[0039]
Furthermore, if the angle formed by the Y axis of the vector G is φ, the vector G can be expressed by the relationship as shown in the following formula 7 in three-dimensional coordinates.

[0041]
In addition, if the angle formed by the projection vector of the reference vector m onto the YZ plane and the Y axis is α, and the angle formed by the X axis and the reference vector m is β, the reference vector m is a three-dimensional coordinate and The relationship can be expressed as follows.

[Equation 8]
[0043]
On the other hand, the above formula 5 can be expressed by the following formula 9 using the formula 6.
[0044]
[Equation 9]
[0045]
From the relationship of Equation (9), α and β are obtained from Equation (8) and Equation (8), and θ is obtained from the dip angle of the geomagnetism, whereby the angle φ formed by the vector G and its Y axis can be obtained. If the calculation procedure is shown as arc · tan as an inverse function of tan and arc · cos as an inverse function of cos, first, the geomagnetic vector M = (Mx, My, Mz), α = arc · tan (Mz / My) , Β = arc · tan ((My 2 + Mz 2 ) 1/2 / Mx). However, the two solutions of arc and tan here are determined as correct solutions by the codes of Mx and My. Secondly, θ = π / 2 (90 degrees) −the angle of depression is obtained. Third, φ = α ± arc · cos {cos (θ) / sin (β)}, G (vector) = (0, cos (φ), sin (φ)).
[0046]
FIG. 8 is a rewrite of the azimuth analysis diagram shown in FIG. 6 on the XY plane side. Here, the projection of the vector group having the angle formed by the θ from the geomagnetic vector M onto the XY plane is elliptical. The locus on the Y-axis and the locus on the Y-axis is a candidate for G (vector), and it can be seen from FIG. However, since there may be one solution as a multiple solution when two solutions overlap, it is necessary to select a correct solution in a certain procedure.

Incidentally, in the azimuth information extraction process, the earth magnetic pole azimuth vector can be obtained by performing a calculation excluding the projection component from the geomagnetic vector to the vertical vector G.

【The invention's effect】
As described above, according to the earth magnetic pole direction calculation method for the magnetic sensor device of the present invention, when the earth magnetic field is calculated by detecting the earth magnetic field by the three axis magnetic sensor, the geomagnetic vector obtained from the three axis magnetic sensor is calculated. And a vector G having a predetermined angle α specified in advance from a vector substantially orthogonal to the specific axis X, and the predetermined angle α is calculated from a geomagnetic vector and a vertical vector from the ground. The specific axis X is an axis that is substantially parallel to the ground among the axes that are used for the main rotation in a situation where the substrate on which the three-axis magnetic sensor is mounted is actually used. As a result, optimal tilt correction is performed under the usage conditions that are frequently assumed as a method of use, such as when the user holds it with one hand during use. In addition to being able to realize the required reduction in size and weight even when mounted, it is possible to perform azimuth navigation at a lower cost than conventional devices.
