Description
The present invention relates to an efficient learning system used in a personal computer communication school that can increase the concentration of a student and can be instructed according to the ability and character of the student, and learning for a personal computer communication learning system The present invention relates to a recording medium on which data is recorded.
In recent years, with the spread of personal computers, personal computer communication cram schools (private tutors) that support study through personal computer communication and the Internet are rapidly expanding. This personal computer school is roughly divided into two categories.
The first category is a system for studying by putting a CD-ROM loaded with learning materials in a personal computer at home. The learning material CD-ROM includes, for example, teaching materials for each subject from elementary school to high school, university, Curriculums such as national examinations and certification examinations, adult education, hobby go, and shogi are stored, and a predetermined curriculum is automatically advanced. And a teacher grasps the learning result of each student, receives a question from each student, and gives learning guidance via personal computer communication.
The second category uses computer communication and is similar in content to the former, but it is a moving image that changes sequentially as learning progresses, or a still image and audio that change intermittently. This is a mass data transmission type in which data is transmitted and received entirely between the teacher side and the student side, and requires a large capacity transmission path and a long transmission time.
The present invention is a problem to be solved by paying attention to the following problems in the personal computer learning system belonging to the first category described above. That is, in the conventional personal computer communication school, as the contents of the provided CD-ROM, only problems and answers are simply displayed on the screen, and there is no particular means for gazing at specific parts, and students In some cases, the attention of the people was distracting. Moreover, it was not a system that could appropriately modify or select the progress of the curriculum according to the abilities and personality of the students, but it was a dress-up type teaching material. Therefore, if it is possible to correspond to these under the conventional system, it is necessary to prepare various types of CD-ROMs in which different data are input for each student, which makes the entire system very expensive and feasible. Was low and not realistic.
A means for decomposing a moving image to be displayed as a teaching material or a time-varying still image into a plurality of image parts, a means for storing all image part data in a recording medium and distributing them to the students in advance, A means for selecting appropriate teaching materials according to the progress and transmitting a signal for specifying the teaching materials from the teacher side to the student side via the communication line. Transmission via the communication line is very limited. The problem is solved by a combination including at least one of the means limited to only the information.
As shown in FIG. 1, this system is roughly divided into a
The term personal computer used in this specification is an exemplary one used to represent computers in a broad sense. Therefore, a desktop, notebook or mobile personal computer, computer or personal computer can be used as long as it is a data processing device incorporating a CPU, MPU, etc. and which can incorporate necessary peripheral devices. It does not matter whether it is a TV receiver with a function or a game machine with a PC function.
The communication connection may be either a direct connection using an NTT line, or a connection via personal computer communication, Internet communication, or the like.
The
In FIG. 2, the various control programs are recorded on the recording medium M1, but these programs are not recorded on the recording medium to be distributed. (Not shown) may be recorded. Alternatively, a control program (or a compressed file thereof) recorded on the recording medium M1 may be installed on the hard disk, which is particularly effective when the recording medium M1 has a relatively low speed.
Here, the recording medium M1 used in the present invention is not intended to record a program that proceeds as it is (as worn) using the learning curriculum or data recorded therein. Please be careful. This point is significantly different from the conventional learning material CD-ROM.
記録媒体M1 として、以下の説明ではCD−ROM(読取り専用CD)を代表例として挙げたが、これに限定するものではなく、例えば、CD−R(追記型一度書きCD)、CD−RW(書換型CD)、MO(光磁気デスク)、MD(ミニデスク)、DVD(デジタル・ビデオデスク)、FD(フロッピイデスク)等の何れであってもよい。 As the recording medium M1, in the following description, a CD-ROM (read-only CD) is given as a representative example. However, the present invention is not limited to this. For example, a CD-R (write once write CD), CD-RW ( Any of rewritable CD), MO (magneto-optical desk), MD (mini desk), DVD (digital video desk), FD (floppy desk) and the like may be used. The recording medium driving apparatus 101 may select a recording medium driving apparatus suitable for the type of the recording mediums M1 and M2 employed. The adapting device in the embodiment of the present invention is a CD-ROM drive.
The
Although not shown in the figure, a mass storage device such as a hard disk device is arranged between the recording medium drive devices 101 and 201 and other control units to streamline the data flow. is there.
The
Next, how each component functions when the system of the present invention actually operates will be described with reference to FIG.
When the student wishes to start learning, a signal indicating that is transmitted to the teacher side in order to have the teacher side transmit learning data. The signal may be transmitted by telephone. For example, when the
When communication with the teacher-
Then, based on the selected teaching material and the characteristics of the student (for example, the ability of the student inferred from the result of a confirmation test performed in the past), how to move the character image, or which It is determined whether to output such a sound.
For example, if past data on the student is known to be “not good at relative pronouns”, the action to move the character image more slowly than usual, or a more detailed explanation than usual Select audio. Next, the communication control unit 201 transmits a learning material specifying signal, a character image specifying signal, an action specifying signal, and a sound specifying signal for selecting and specifying the current learning material to the
The student-side communication control unit 102 receives these signals and stores all signals in the received signal storage device 104 (for example, as shown in FIG. 3). The reception signal storage device 104 may be a part of the above-described mass storage device (hard disk). When all these data are recorded in the received signal storage device 104, the communication control unit 102 turns off the
In parallel with this, the communication control unit 102 sends a teaching material specifying signal to the menu screen creation device 105. The menu screen creation device 105 calls all the teaching material heading data corresponding to the teaching material specifying signal from the teaching material heading data recorded in the recording medium M1 in accordance with the menu creation program, and displays these teaching material heading data in the display image information memory 106. And the menu screen is displayed on the display device 107 (see FIG. 4).
After that, when the learning desired teaching material is selected by the student (for example, by key input from the keyboard 108a or by clicking the mouse 108b), the image composition device 109 receives this learning desired teaching material specifying signal and receives this learning desired teaching material specifying signal. The learning material data corresponding to is called from the recording medium 101 onto the learning material image decoding unit 110. Thereafter, this data is sent to the display image information memory 106, and only the teaching material image (all images excluding the
Next, when the student gives an instruction to start teaching operation (for example, by key input from the keyboard 108 a or clicking the mouse 108 b), a teaching operation start signal is sent to the image composition device 109. In response to this signal, the image synthesis device 109 starts an operation of synthesizing the teaching material image and the character image (forefinger 51) according to the componentized data synthesis program.
First, the character image specifying signal related to the teaching material selected by the student is called from the reception signal recording device 104, and the character image signal corresponding to the character image specifying signal is called from the recording medium M1. At the same time, an action designation signal related to the teaching material selected by the student is called, and the character image data is called in a form positioned on the character image decoding unit 111 based on the action designation signal.
Next, the teaching material data on the teaching material image decoding unit 110 and the character image data positioned on the character image decoding unit 111 are combined, and the data is sent to the display image information memory 106, whereby the character image is incorporated. The teaching material image is displayed on the display device 107.
Since the motion designation signal includes a time index, the character image data positioned on the character image decoding unit 111 is rewritten in accordance with the time index, so that a moving image in which the character moves on the screen is displayed on the display device 107. Will be displayed. FIG. 6 shows a flowchart showing an outline of the operation so far.
Further, when the character moves on the screen, the corresponding voice may be output in synchronization (see the flowcharts in FIGS. 6 and 7). In this case, the moving image audio output control device 112 linked with the image synthesizing device 109 generates audio data corresponding thereto based on the audio designation data stored in the received signal storage device 104 according to the audio synchronization program. This is done by calling from the recording medium M1 onto the audio output memory 113 and outputting it from the audio output unit 114 in synchronization with the movement of the character image.
For example, in FIG. 5, the
Next, the operation procedure of the system will be described. First, when the student turns on the power source 103 of the
These teaching materials are based on the textbooks used by the students, and a plurality of teaching materials are selected that include the places where the students studied at school today.
In FIG. 4, the leftmost column 41 indicates the type of subject, the second column 42 from the left indicates the planned learning month / day input according to the desired schedule that the student has submitted in advance, and the column 43 indicates the school. This is the input value of the degree of understanding by self-evaluation when learned in
For example, if there are 33 pages that have been studied at school today in an English subject, and the student wants to review that page, the student will select the second teaching material. After a while, as shown in FIG. 5, the content screen of the second teaching material shown in FIG. 4 is displayed. At this stage, the teaching material is simply displayed, but when the explanation key is pressed, the
In the above-described embodiment, an example in which the teaching material management program on the teacher side automatically selects the learning material based on the data related to the student recorded in the recording medium M2 is not limited to this. A teacher may be resident in the teacher-
When the teacher is resident in the
In the above embodiment, only the teacher side controls the synthesis of the componentized data. However, the student side may control the synthesis of the componentized data.
As a first example, referring to FIG. 5, the display character image may be changed to another character image instead of the
At this time, since the character image specifying signal is changed, a motion designation signal (for example, a movement start point, a movement end point, an enlargement magnification, etc.) set based on the previous character image data is applied as it is. The selected character image may protrude from the screen. Therefore, not only the character image specifying signal is rewritten, but also the motion designation signal is the size of the previous character image data, the size of the newly selected character image data (these size data are recorded in the recording medium M1). Alternatively, a new operation designation signal calculated based on the previous operation designation signal and not protruding may be rewritten.
As a second example, the student may directly input the learning material desired to be learned instead of selecting the learning material from the menu screen as described above. In this case, in addition to the above-described student specifying signal and receivable signal, a learning desired teaching material specifying signal is added to the signal sent to the teacher side terminal (see the flowchart in FIG. 6). In the above example, the student-related data is recorded on the teacher's recording medium M2. However, part or all of this data (for example, textbooks used, learning progress, degree of understanding, etc.) In this case, these data are transmitted to the teacher side via communication means (preferably in the form of a signal).
Furthermore, as an additional effect of making teaching material data into parts, even when receiving a new part image distribution due to version upgrade etc., it is only necessary to receive communication distribution of only the difference, the previous part is easy Since it can be reused, the amount of communication can be reduced, and a significant improvement in communication line utilization efficiency can be expected.
