Description
【0001】
これに対し、近時、マルチメディアに対応可能なW―CDMA(Wideband-Code Division Multiple Access)方式やcdma2000方式等の移動体通信システムが実用化されつつある。
【0038】
LCD(Liquid Crystal Display)20は、CPU14から供給される各種表示情報を表示する。

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a multitasking electronic device that can be used by a plurality of applications.
[0002]
[Prior art]
Conventionally, PHS (Personal Handy-phone System) and mobile phones can use various application programs (hereinafter referred to as applications) such as mail creation applications and phone book applications. Can be selected.
[0003]
Here, with reference to FIG. 6, an operation when an incoming call occurs when an application is executed in the conventional mobile phone will be described.
FIG. 6 is a flowchart for explaining the operation of an application in a conventional mobile phone. Here, the switching operation from the application A to a call will be described. Here, the application A is, for example, a Web browser, a mail creation application, or the like.
[0004]
First, the control unit built in the mobile phone executes the application A designated by the user and displays the contents on the display screen (step S61). While executing the application A, the control unit monitors whether there is an incoming call from the outside.
[0005]
While the application A is being executed, when the control unit detects an incoming call from the outside (step S62), the control unit terminates the application A (step S63) and displays that the incoming call has been received on the display screen (step S64).
[0006]
Next, the control unit requests a selection input as to whether or not to make a call immediately in response to the incoming call (step S65), and when a selection input for making a call is made immediately (step S65; Yes), the call processing Is started (step S66). In step S65, when the telephone call is not immediately made (step S65; No), the control unit requests selection input as to whether or not to hold (step S70).
[0007]
In step S70, when the selection input not to hold is performed (step S70; No), the control unit proceeds to step S68 described later. When the selection input for holding is performed (step S70; Yes), the control unit holds the call (step S71) and monitors whether there is an instruction signal instructing release of the hold. (Step S72).
[0008]
When there is an instruction signal for instructing cancellation of the hold (step S72; Yes), the control unit proceeds to step S66 and starts executing the call process.
[0009]
Next, the control unit monitors whether or not there is a call end instruction signal (step S67). If there is a call end instruction signal (step S67; Yes), the call processing is stopped and the call is ended. (Step S68), a predetermined standby screen is displayed (Step S69), and the application switching process is terminated.
[0010]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, the above conventional mobile phone has the following problems. The number of applications that can be used with conventional mobile phones is only a limited number of applications such as mail creation applications and phone book applications. On the other hand, mobile communication systems such as a W-CDMA (Wideband-Code Division Multiple Access) system and a cdma2000 system that are compatible with multimedia have recently been put into practical use. A mobile phone compatible with the mobile communication system has a multitasking specification such as a personal computer, and can start a large number of various applications simultaneously as the memory permits. At this time, it is difficult to display a plurality of windows related to a large number of applications on a small display screen of the mobile phone, and thus it is difficult for the user to check the currently activated application. In addition, there are a wide variety of applications that can be used, and it is physically difficult to provide a switching key corresponding to the application for each application, and the operation becomes complicated.
[0011]
Also, in a mobile communication system that has a multitasking specification, a situation can occur frequently in which a large number of applications are activated and a call is received and a call is made. In such a situation, the longer the call lasts, the more the user forgets about the presence of the active application, and when the call is finished in that state, the user does not check for the presence of the active application. There was a risk of losing data up to just before the incoming call by storing it in a bag or pocket or turning off the power.
[0012]
An object of the present invention is to facilitate confirmation of an active application screen and a switching operation in an electronic device such as a mobile phone capable of simultaneously starting a plurality of applications.
[0013]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In order to solve such a problem, the present invention has the following features. In the following description of the means, the configuration corresponding to the embodiment is shown as an example in parentheses. Reference numerals and the like are reference numerals for drawings to be described later.

According to the first aspect of the present invention, in an electronic device (for example, the
[0015]
According to the electronic device of the first aspect of the present invention, in the electronic device capable of executing a plurality of applications simultaneously or alternatively, the switching means is that the plurality of applications are being activated, and any one of them is When the application is being executed, the application that is being executed is switched to another application that is being activated, and the holding unit switches the application that is being executed to another application that is being activated by the switching unit. In addition to holding the application activation state, it holds various data generated during its execution.
[0016]
Therefore, when a user uses a new application, the desired application can be switched at any time with a simple operation without ending the previously executed application. realizable.
[0018]
Also,
[0019]
Therefore, when a user uses a new application, the user can switch the desired application with a simple operation at any time without ending the previously executed application. When the application is started, the presence of the active application is notified to the user by the notification means. Therefore, when the application after the switching is terminated, an erroneous operation such as turning off the power even though there is an active application. Can be avoided, and convenience can be improved.
[0020]
According to a third aspect of the present invention, in the electronic device according to the first or second aspect, the electronic device according to the first or second aspect further includes a communication unit that performs communication with an external device via a public line, and the switching unit includes the communication unit. When voice communication processing by means is not executed When there is an instruction signal instructing application switching by operating a predetermined key It is characterized by functioning only.
[0021]
According to the invention described in
[0022]
According to a fourth aspect of the present invention, in the electronic device according to the first or second aspect,
A communication means for communicating with an external device via a public line;
The holding means is characterized in that when an incoming call is received, the activation state of the application being activated at the time of the incoming call is held, and various data generated during the execution of the application are held.
[0023]
According to the invention described in
[0024]
According to a fifth aspect of the present invention, in the electronic device according to the fourth aspect, when the notification means receives an incoming call, if a plurality of applications are activated at the time of the incoming call, That the application exists When the incoming LED is lit or flashed and communication is completed, when another application is active at the end of the communication, a ringer or vibrator is driven to detect the presence of the active application. It is characterized by notifying.
[0025]
Therefore, according to the fifth aspect of the present invention, when there is an active application at the time of an incoming call, the presence of the active application is notified by the notification means while the communication is being performed. Since the user can always check for the presence of the running application, it is possible to avoid erroneous operations such as accidentally turning off the power at the end of communication despite the presence of the running application. An electronic device can be realized.
