この発明は、発振器の出力信号を基準信号に位相同期させる位相同期発振器に関するものである。

【従来の技術】
従来、マイクロ波回路などに用いられる発振器においてはその発振周波数を安定化させるために、安定な基準信号に位相同期させる位相同期発振器が用いられる。
この位相同期発振器については、例えば、電子情報通信学会1996年通信ソサイエティ大会講演論文集1のC−2−45「周波数逓倍器を用いた60GHz帯位相同期発振器」で広く知られている。

図17は従来の位相同期発振器の構成ブロック図であり、図において1は基準信号発振器、2は位相比較器、3はループフィルタ、4は電圧制御発振器、5は電力分配器、6は第1の基本波周波数帯増幅器、7は分周器、8は第2の基本波周波数帯増幅器、9は逓倍器、10は基準信号発振器周波数、11は電圧制御発振器基本波周波数、12は電圧制御発振器n次高周波周波数、13は分周器9から出力される電圧制御発振器分周周波数である。

基準信号発振器1と分周器7は位相比較器2に接続される。位相比較器2の出力は電圧制御発振器4に、電圧制御発振器4の出力は電力分配器5に、電力分配器5の一方の出力は第1の基本波周波数帯増幅器6に電力分配器5の他方の出力は第2の基本波周波数帯増幅器8にそれぞれ接続される。また、第1の基本波周波数帯増幅器6の出力は分周器7に、第2の基本波周波数帯増幅器8の出力は逓倍器7に接続される。

次に動作について説明する。電圧制御発振器4の出力は電力分配器5で第1の基本波周波数帯増幅器6及び第2の基本波周波数帯増幅器8にそれぞれ分配される。第1の基本波周波数帯増幅器に入力された電圧制御発振器4の電圧制御発振器基本波信号は第1の基本波周波数帯増幅器6で増幅されたのち分周器7に入力され、電圧制御発振器基本波周波数11のm分の1に分周される。ここでmは自然数であり、基準信号発振器周波数10と電圧制御発振器基本波周波数11と電圧制御発振器分周周波数13との関係は数1で与えられる。

分周器7から出力される電圧制御発振器分周器信号と基準信号発振器1から出力される基準信号は位相比較器2に入力され、位相比較器2はこの2つの周波数の位相差に対応した出力電圧を発生する。そして位相比較器2で発生した電圧はループプィルタ3に入力され位相比較器2の出力に含まれる不要な高調波成分や雑音を除去すると共に、電圧制御発振器4を基準信号発振器周波数10に同期した周波数で発振させるための制御電圧を出力する。したがって電圧制御発振器4はループフィルタ3からの制御電圧により、基準信号発振器1に同期した周波数信号を出力する。また、第2の基本波増幅器8に入力された電圧制御発振器基本波信号は増幅され、逓倍器9で所望の周波数である電圧制御発振器n次高調波周波数12に逓倍され外部へ出力する。

以上のように構成することで、電圧制御発振器4は基準信号に同期するよう分周器7、位相比較器2、ループフィルタ3によりフィードバック制御される。したがって周波数安定度の高い基準信号発振器を用いれば安定度の高い電圧制御発振器n次高調波周波数で発振する発振器が構成できる。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
上記の通り従来の位相同期発振器で、逓倍器を使用しているため、回路数が多く装置が大型化し、かつ高価になるという課題があった。

この発明はかかる課題を解決するためになされたものであり、逓倍器9を省略し、回路数を削減することで、回路の小型化を図り、安価に構成することを目的とする。

【課題を解決するための手段】
第1の発明による位相同期発振器は、電圧制御発振器4から出力されるn次高調波成分を増幅しかつ基本波成分を減衰するn次高調波周波数帯増幅器を備えた。

また、第2の発明による位相同期発振器は、電圧制御発振器n次高調波信号を通過させかつ電圧制御発振器基本波信号を反射させる基本波周波数帯バンドリジェクションフィルタと、電圧制御発振器4の出力を基本波周波数帯バンドリジェクションフィルタに出力し、かつ基本波周波数帯バンドリジェクションフィルタにて反射された電圧制御発振器基本波信号を分周器7に出力するためのサーキュレータとを備えた。

【発明の実施の形態】
実施の形態1.
図1はこの発明の実施の形態1を示す位相同期発振器の構成ブロック図であり、図において1〜7、10〜13は従来の位相同期発振器に記載したものと同一のものであり、14はn次高調波周波数帯増幅器、15は基本波周波数帯増幅器である。

n次高調波周波数帯増幅器14は電力分配器5の一方の出力に接続され、電圧制御発振器4のn次高調波成分を増幅し、かつ基本波周波数成分を減衰する。基本波周波数帯増幅器15は従来の実施例を示す図6の第1の基本波周波数帯増幅器と同一の機能を有し、電力分配器5の他方の出力に接続され、電圧制御発振器4の基本波周波数成分を増幅する。

次に動作について説明する。電圧制御発振器4の出力は電力分配器5で基本波周波数帯増幅器15及びn次高調波周波数帯増幅器14にそれぞれ分配される。基本波周波数帯増幅器15に入力された電圧制御発振器基本波信号は増幅したのち分周器7に入力され、電圧制御発振器基本波周波数11のm分の1に分周される。分周器7から出力される電圧制御発振器分周信号と基準信号発振器1から出力される基準信号は位相比較器2に入力され、位相比較器2は2つの周波数の位相差に対応した出力電圧を発生する。そして位相比較器2で発生した電圧はループフィルタ3に入力され位相比較器2の出力に含まれる不要な高調波成分や雑音を除去すると共に、電圧制御発振器4を基準信号に同期した周波数で発振させるための制御電圧を出力する。したがって電圧制御発振器4はループフィルタからの制御電圧により、基準信号に同期した周波数を出力する。

図2は位相同期発振器4の出力のスペクトラムを示す図である。一般に電圧制御発振器4は、発振素子を非線形領域で動作させるため、基本波信号の他に多くの高調波成分を出力する。したがって電圧制御発振器4から出力される所望の電圧制御発振器n次高調波信号を電力分配器5の一方の出力からn次高調波周波数帯増幅器14に入力、増幅した後、所望のn次高調波信号を外部に出力する。

実施の形態2.
図3はこの発明の実施の形態2を示す位相同期発振器の構成ブロック図であり、図において1〜4、7、10〜13は従来の位相同期発振器の構成ブロック図に記載したものと同一のものであり、16はサーキュレータ、17はサーキュレータの端子a、18はサーキュレータの端子b、19はサーキュレータの端子c、20は基本波周波数帯バンドリジェクションフィルタである。
