【0001】

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to an occupant restraint device capable of protecting a chest and a head of an occupant by inflating with high-pressure gas generated by an inflator during a vehicle side collision.
[0002]
[Prior art]
Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 9-220993 discloses an airbag device for side collision that is deployed between a door or a center pillar and a passenger at the time of a side collision of a vehicle and protects the chest and head of the passenger. Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 6-64493 has already known an air belt device in which a bag is accommodated in a shoulder belt of a seat belt and the bag is inflated to protect a chest and a head of a passenger at the time of a vehicle side collision. Yes.
[0003]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
By the way, in the conventional side collision airbag device, a head bag portion for protecting the passenger's head is integrally provided above the chest bag portion for protecting the passenger's chest. When a seat belt is used in combination with the apparatus, there is a possibility that the head bag portion interferes with the shoulder belt of the seat belt and smooth deployment is prevented. In addition, since the conventional air belt device for side collision needs to inflate one shoulder belt to protect both the chest and head of the occupant, the shoulder belt effectively protects the occupant's head. There is a problem that it is difficult to expand to a shape that can be.
[0004]
The present invention has been made in view of the above circumstances, and an object thereof is to provide an occupant restraint device capable of effectively protecting an occupant's chest and head by inflating with a high-pressure gas generated by a common inflator. .
[0005]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In order to achieve the above object, an invention described in claim 1 includes an inflator for generating high-pressure gas, a shoulder belt for restraining a chest of an occupant sitting on a seat, and a belt expansion housed in the shoulder belt. An occupant restraint device for supplying a high-pressure gas generated by an inflator to a belt inflating bag to protect the chest of the occupant by inflating the shoulder belt. In this case, a part of the high-pressure gas supplied from the inflator to the belt inflating bag is supplied to the auxiliary bag attached to the upper portion of the shoulder belt, so that the auxiliary bag is deployed between the head of the passenger and the inner surface of the vehicle body. It is characterized by that.
[0006]
According to the above configuration, when the impact of the side collision of the vehicle is detected, the high-pressure gas generated by the inflator is supplied to the belt inflating bag, the shoulder belt is inflated, and the occupant's chest is constrained to the seat to cause the side collision. The passenger's chest can be protected from the impact. When a part of the high-pressure gas that inflates the shoulder belt is supplied to the auxiliary bag, the auxiliary bag expands and expands between the passenger's head and the inner surface of the vehicle body. The part can be protected. By configuring the belt inflating bag and the auxiliary bag separately, the shape of the auxiliary bag can be set without being constrained by the shape of the belt inflating bag, and thus the head of the passenger is protected by the auxiliary bag. Can be carried out effectively. Moreover, since the belt inflating bag and the auxiliary bag are inflated with a common inflator, the structure can be simplified and the cost can be reduced.
