電子メ−ルの送受信を行なうプロトコルとして、SMTP(Simple Mail Transfer Protokol)、POP3(Post Office Protocol)を使用する。
【0018】

[0019]
By the way, since the electronic mail communication system is different from the G3 facsimile communication system, the image data cannot be transmitted in the electronic mail communication system as it is. However, in recent years, a method for converting image data such as image data into an electronic mail format, for example, TIFF (Tagged Image File Format) has been developed. By using such a conversion method, a client attaches a facsimile image data file to the electronic mail, and the electronic mail can communicate with the FAX server.
[0020]
In the present invention, a technique for transmitting a facsimile image data file to the electronic mail is used. By using such a technique, the sender of the electronic mail transmits the image data attached to the electronic mail to a facsimile transmission condition such as the time when the image data is transmitted to G3 FAX, that is, facsimile transmission instruction information. Is described in the mail text and transmitted to the FAX server. The FAX server can transmit the facsimile image data to the other party's G3 FAX according to the facsimile transmission instruction information set by the transmission source.
