【発明の属する技術分野】
本発明は、番組の映像・音声情報と多重化して電子番組表（ＥＰＧ）のための番組情報を放送するセンター装置と、これを受信して画面に電子番組表を表示する端末装置に関し、特に、端末装置で個性的な電子番組表を表示できるようにするものである。

【従来の技術】
デジタル放送では、アナログ放送に比べてチャンネル数が飛躍的に増大し、放送される番組の数が非常に多くなる。そこで、デジタル放送では、番組選択を容易にするため、センターから、番組の映像・音声情報と多重化してＥＰＧの番組情報が放送される。利用者は、端末装置の表示画面にＥＰＧを映し、このＥＰＧ上で直接、見たい番組を選択したり、番組の予約録画を指定したりすることができる。

この番組情報には、チャンネル番号、チャンネル名、番組名、番組のジャンルを示すジャンル情報、放送スケジュール、あらすじ、出演者などの情報が含まれる。センターからこの番組情報のデータを受信した端末装置では、内蔵するＥＰＧソフトによって、時間軸とチャンネル軸とを持った番組表として画面上に表示する。

この電子番組表の表示の仕方については、種々の工夫が為されている。特開平８−１４０００３には、画面上に番組のジャンルをメニュー表示し、そのジャンルを選べば関連番組のガイドが表示される表示方法が開示されている。また、特開昭６１−２２７４８６には、現在の時刻を見て、現在の時刻より後の番組表のみを表示する技術が開示されている。また、特開平９−３７１６７には、端末装置の画面のアスペクト比を設定すると、設定されたアスペクト比に応じて、ガイド画像の表示配列を変更する方法が開示されている。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
しかし、従来の放送システムでは、センター装置から放送された番組情報を端末装置が受信し、この端末装置に予めプログラムとして組み込まれている番組表作成用プログラムが、受信した番組情報から必要な部分を抜き出して番組表を作成しているため、画面上には、プログラムで決められた一種類の表示形式でしか番組表が表示されない。

そのため、利用者は、この番組表の中から、知りたい情報を一目で見つけることが難しく、一方、センター側では、視聴者に番組の特徴を番組表の表示形式によって印象付けることができない。

また、従来の端末装置では、番組の映像を見ながら番組表を表示させることができず、番組表を画面に表示している間は、番組の映像が中断されると言う不便がある。

また、番組表は画面上で見るしか方法が無く、番組表を記録して残すことができないという不便がある。

本発明は、こうした従来の問題点を解決するものであり、バラエティに富んだ個性的な電子番組表の表示を可能にする放送システムのセンター装置を提供し、また、この個性的な電子番組表を画面上に表示したり、印刷物などで残すことができる端末装置を提供することを目的としている。

【課題を解決するための手段】
そこで、本発明では、センター装置に、番組の識別情報を含む番組情報が表形式で表される番組表の表示形式を示すテンプレートと、当該テンプレートの利用可能な時刻を示す時刻情報が含まれたテンプレート識別子とを対応付けて保持、管理するテンプレート管理手段と、前記テンプレートの端末装置への送信日時を制御するテンプレート送信制御手段と、前記テンプレート管理手段で保持、管理されている前記テンプレートと当該テンプレートに対応するテンプレート識別子とを前記テンプレート送信制御手段から指示された送信日時に端末装置に送信するテンプレート送信手段とを設けている。
また、番組の識別情報を含む番組情報が表形式で表される番組表の表示形式を示すテンプレートと、当該テンプレートの利用に適した端末の端末情報が含まれたテンプレート識別子とを対応付けて保持、管理するテンプレート管理手段と、前記テンプレートの端末装置への送信日時を制御するテンプレート送信制御手段と、前記テンプレート管理手段で保持、管理されている前記テンプレートと当該テンプレートに対応するテンプレート識別子とを前記テンプレート送信制御手段から指示された送信日時に端末装置に送信するテンプレート送信手段とを設けている。

また、端末装置には、番組の識別情報を含む番組情報と、前記番組情報が表形式で表される番組表の表示形式を示すテンプレートと、当該テンプレートの利用可能な時刻を示す時刻情報が含まれたテンプレート識別子とを入力する入力手段と、前記テンプレートと、当該テンプレートに対応する前記テンプレート識別子に含まれた前記時刻情報とを対応付けて保持、管理するテンプレート管理手段と、前記番組情報を保持、管理する番組情報管理手段と、番組表の表示時に、その表示時刻と前記テンプレート管理手段で保持、管理されている前記時刻情報とを比較して、前記テンプレート管理手段で保持、管理されている前記テンプレートの中から、前記表示時刻に対応するテンプレートを選択するテンプレート選択手段と、前記番組情報管理手段から必要な番組情報を取得し、前記テンプレート選択手段が選択したテンプレートを用いて番組表を作成する番組表作成手段とを設けている。

【発明の実施の形態】
本発明の請求項１に記載の発明は、センター装置に、番組の識別情報を含む番組情報が表形式で表される番組表の表示形式を示すテンプレートと、当該テンプレートの利用可能な時刻を示す時刻情報が含まれたテンプレート識別子とを対応付けて保持、管理するテンプレート管理手段と、前記テンプレートの端末装置への送信日時を制御するテンプレート送信制御手段と、前記テンプレート管理手段で保持、管理されている前記テンプレートと当該テンプレートに対応するテンプレート識別子とを前記テンプレート送信制御手段から指示された送信日時に端末装置に送信するテンプレート送信手段とを設けたものであり、時間帯毎に異なる番組表の表示が可能となる。例えば、午前中のテンプレートには時刻の前に太陽のマークを入れ、夕方のテンプレートには時刻の前に月のマークを入れることにより時刻が“７”と表現されていても、視聴者は午前か午後かを容易に理解できる。

センター装置は、番組表のテンプレートを作成して、このテンプレートと、そのテンプレートの使用条件などを指定するテンプレート識別子とを端末装置に送信する。

このテンプレートは、ＨＴＭＬ、ＳＧＭＬ、ＭＨＥＧなどの言語を用いて画面上に表示されるテキスト、静止画、画像を指し、また、これらの言語で指定された表示方法により表現されたものを指す。

例えば、このテンプレートによって、午前中の電子番組表の時刻情報の前に太陽のマークが表示され、夕方の電子番組表の時刻情報の前に月のマークが表示される。また、電子番組表の一番下に今日の言葉が記述されたり、電子番組表の枠が午前は明るい色で、午後は暗い色で表示される。また、料理が好きな人のために、料理番組が目立つ色で表示され、囲碁が好きな人のために、囲碁番組の枠が強調された線で表示される。

また、番組表を印刷物にして手元に残すことができる。従って、例えば、１週間先の番組表を印刷して置けば、毎回番組表をテレビ等に表示しなくても、容易に番組表を確認することができる。

【発明の効果】
以上の説明から明らかなように、本発明のセンター装置は、視聴者が目的の情報を見つけ易い番組表を供給することができ、また、放送の送り手側の特色を出した番組表を提供することができる。端末装置は、このセンター装置からの放送を受けて、時間帯毎に異なる番組表を表示したり、端末装置の構成に適した形態で番組表を表示したりすることができる。

Claims (4)

  1. 番組の識別情報を含む番組情報が表形式で表される番組表の表示形式を示すテンプレートと、当該テンプレートの利用可能な時刻を示す時刻情報が含まれたテンプレート識別子とを対応付けて保持、管理するテンプレート管理手段と、
    前記テンプレートの端末装置への送信日時を制御するテンプレート送信制御手段と、
    前記テンプレート管理手段で保持、管理されている前記テンプレートと当該テンプレートに対応するテンプレート識別子とを前記テンプレート送信制御手段から指示された送信日時に端末装置に送信するテンプレート送信手段と
    を備えることを特徴とするセンター装置。
  2. 番組の識別情報を含む番組情報が表形式で表される番組表の表示形式を示すテンプレートと、当該テンプレートの利用に適した端末の端末情報が含まれたテンプレート識別子とを対応付けて保持、管理するテンプレート管理手段と、
    前記テンプレートの端末装置への送信日時を制御するテンプレート送信制御手段と、
    前記テンプレート管理手段で保持、管理されている前記テンプレートと当該テンプレートに対応するテンプレート識別子とを前記テンプレート送信制御手段から指示された送信日時に端末装置に送信するテンプレート送信手段と
    を備えることを特徴とするセンター装置。
  3. 番組の識別情報を含む番組情報と、前記番組情報が表形式で表される番組表の表示形式を示すテンプレートと、当該テンプレートの利用可能な時刻を示す時刻情報が含まれたテンプレート識別子とを入力する入力手段と、
    前記テンプレートと、当該テンプレートに対応する前記テンプレート識別子に含まれた前記時刻情報とを対応付けて保持、管理するテンプレート管理手段と、
    前記番組情報を保持、管理する番組情報管理手段と、
    番組表の表示時に、その表示時刻と前記テンプレート管理手段で保持、管理されている前記時刻情報とを比較して、前記テンプレート管理手段で保持、管理されている前記テンプレートの中から、前記表示時刻に対応するテンプレートを選択するテンプレート選択手段と、
    前記番組情報管理手段から必要な番組情報を取得し、前記テンプレート選択手段が選択したテンプレートを用いて番組表を作成する番組表作成手段と
    を備えることを特徴とする端末装置。
  4. 番組の識別情報を含む番組情報と、前記番組情報が表形式で表される番組表の表示形式を示すテンプレートと、当該テンプレートの利用に適した端末の端末情報が含まれたテンプレート識別子とを入力する入力手段と、
    前記テンプレートと、当該テンプレートに対応するテンプレート識別子に含まれた前記端末情報とを対応付けて保持、管理するテンプレート管理手段と、
    前記番組情報を保持、管理する番組情報管理手段と、
    番組表の表示時に、予め保持している端末装置自身の端末情報と前記テンプレート管理手段で保持、管理されている前記端末情報とを比較して、前記テンプレート管理手段で保持、管理されている前記テンプレートの中から、端末装置自身での利用に適したテンプレートを選択するテンプレート選択手段と、
    前記番組情報管理手段から必要な番組情報を取得し、前記テンプレート選択手段が選択したテンプレートを用いて番組表を作成する番組表作成手段と
    を備えることを特徴とする端末装置。
