【発明の属する技術分野】
この発明は、光ディスクのように装置に対して着脱可能な記録媒体と、ハードディスクのように装置に内蔵された記録媒体とを、同時に取り扱うことが可能な画像記録再生装置に関するもので、特にそのライブラリ機能に関する。

【従来の技術】
周知のように、近時では、例えばDVD(Digital Versatile Disc)−RAM(Random Access Memory)やDVD−RW(Re Writable)等の光ディスクのように、装置に対して着脱自在な記録媒体と、ハードディスクのように装置に内蔵され、記録再生速度が高速で大容量の記録媒体とを、同時に取り扱うことを可能とした画像記録再生装置が開発されている。

そして、この種の画像記録再生装置は、光ディスクの持つ利点とハードディスクの持つ利点とを有機的に融合させることにより、従来の画像記録再生装置では到底実現することができなかった種々の新しい機能をユーザに提供することができる可能性を内在していることから、現在では、より一層便利でしかも不都合の生じないように、細部に渡って改良を施すことが強く要求されている。

例えば、このような画像記録再生装置において、光ディスクの大容量化に伴い、多数の番組を記録できるようになり、特にハードディスクドライブと着脱可能の光ディスクとの両方を備えた画像記録再生装置では、記録媒体とに記録される画像が徐々に増えてくると、どのディスクに何を録画したかがわからなくなる。各ディスクには管理情報が書かれているが、光ディスクをローディングしてみないと内容がわからない。従って、ユーザの記憶だけでは、どのような画像が記録されていたかは管理できなくなってくる。また、本体側の半導体メモリにライブラリ情報を保存した場合、十分な情報量(件数、項目数)のライブラリを保存することができないため、画像情報の管理はユーザにとっては使いづらいものとなるという問題がある。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
そこでこの発明は上記事情を考慮してなされたもので、装置に対して着脱自在な記録媒体と装置に内蔵された大容量記録媒体とを同時に取り扱うことを可能とする装置において、複数の着脱可能のディスクや内蔵のハードディスク内に画像を記録する度にライブラリ情報を作成し、これらのライブラリ情報をハードディスク内で編集可能に一括管理し表示することで、ユーザが着脱可能なディスク又はハードディスク内に保有している画像を容易に識別管理することを可能にするライブラリ機能を有する画像記録再生装置を提供することを目的とする。

【課題を解決するための手段】
本発明は、装置に対して着脱可能な第1記録媒体及び内蔵された第2記録媒体に対して、画像情報の記録及び再生を行う画像記録再生装置であって、放送信号を受信し画像情報を出力するチューナ手段と、前記チューナ手段から供給される画像情報を前記着脱可能な第1記録媒体の記憶領域に記録する第1記録手段と、前記第1記録手段が前記画像情報を第1記録媒体の記憶領域に記録した際に、記録した画像情報に関する少なくともタイトル名を含むライブラリ情報を作成し、前記内蔵されている第2記録媒体にこれを格納する格納手段と、前記第2記録媒体に格納されている前記ライブラリ情報を前記第1記録媒体又はこれとは異なる着脱可能な第3記録媒体の記憶領域に記録する第2記録手段と、前記第1記録媒体又は前記着脱可能な第3記録媒体に記録された前記ライブラリ情報を読み取るライブラリ情報読取手段と、前記ライブラリ情報読取手段が読み取った前記ライブラリ情報を、前記内蔵されている第2記録媒体に格納する格納手段とを具備することを特徴とする画像記録再生装置である。

以下、この発明の一実施の形態について図面を参照して詳細に説明する。図1は本発明に係る画像記録再生装置の一実施の形態の概略的な構成を示している。

[画像記録再生装置の構成]
すなわち、この画像記録再生装置は、DVD−RAMやDVD−RW等のような光ディスク11を回転駆動し、この光ディスク11に対して情報の書き込み及び読み取りを実行することのできるディスクドライブ12と、図示しないハードディスクを回転駆動し、このハードディスクに対して本発明に係るライブラリ情報を含む情報の書き込み及び読み取りを実行することのできるHDD(Hard Disc Drive)部13と、記録側を構成するエンコーダ部14と、再生側を構成するデコーダ部15と、本発明に係るライブラリ情報管理部16−1を含む装置本体の動作を統括的に制御するマイクロコンピュータブロック16とを、主たる構成要素としている。

本発明に係るライブラリ機能は、すなわち、複数のDVD−RAMディスク、HDDに書かれている管理情報とは別に、ライブラリ情報を本体内に保存することにより、記録媒体を問わずタイトル情報を一元管理することができる。このように、ライブラリ情報をHDDに保存することにより、件数的にも内容的にも大量のライブラリ情報を保存することができ、ユーザにとっての利便性を増大させることができる。

[ライブラリ機能の動作]
このような本発明に係るライブラリ機能について、基本的な11の機能について、以下にフローチャートを用いて詳細に説明する。

(1)ライブラリ一覧表示
最初に本発明に係る画像記録再生装置のライブラリ機能として、最も基本的な全タイトル一覧の表示機能を説明する。図2は、本発明に係るライブラリ機能の(a)が全タイトル一覧の画面を、(b)がディスク別表示の画面を、図3の(a)がジャンル別表示の画面を、(b)が曜日別表の画面を示す図である。図8は、本発明に係るライブラリ機能の一覧表示を行う際の動作を説明するフローチャートである。

本発明に係るライブラリGUIとは、過去に録画したDVD−RAM/HDDのタイトル一覧(オリジナル)を保持し、ライブラリとして、ユーザへのメディアガイダンスを行うものである。このガイダンス機能として、全タイトル一覧のライブラリ表示が行われる。図2の(a)において、全タイトルの一覧が示され、ディスク番号、録画された年月日、曜日、時、分、チャンネル番号、ジャンルアイコン、タイトル名(表示できる範囲で)が示されている。このような全タイトルの一覧は、1画面で表示可能な情報ごとに処理されるものであり、図8のフローチャートにおいて、マイクロコンピュータブロック16のライブラリ情報管理部16−1の制御下において、ライブラリ一覧表示が要求されると(S31)、一画面で表示件数分だけのライブラリ情報がHDD13から読み出され(S32)、読み出された情報の表示がディスプレイ上になされるべく表示信号が出力される(S33)。更にユーザから次画面の表示の要求があれば(S34)、上記した処理を続行するものである。

このように、本発明に係るライブラリ一覧表示により、ライブラリの内容をすべて表示することができる。又、ライブラリの内容をソートして表示することができ、録画日時の新しいものから順に表示することができる。これにより、多くのディスクやHDD中の画像を一括して識別・管理することができる。

(2)ライブラリの検索表示
次に、このライブラリ情報に関して例えば曜日等の検索情報を与えて検索することで一定の曜日だけに記録した情報の一覧を表示するなどの、ライブラリの検索表示機能を説明する。図2の(b)が本発明に係るライブラリ機能のライブラリのディスク別表示の画面を、図3の(a)がジャンル別表示の画面を、(b)が曜日別表の画面を示す図、図4は本発明に係るライブラリ機能のクイックメニューのジャンル別表示の画面を示す図、図5は曜日別表示の画面を示す図、図6はディスク別表示、ジャンル別表示、曜日別表示をしているときのクイックメニューの画面を示す図、図9はライブラリ機能の検索表示の動作を説明するフローチャートである。

このライブラリ検索表示では、特定のディスクを指定することで、図2の(b)に示すように例えば003Aというディスクに記録された画像だけを表示させるものである。

又、ジャンルを特定してもよく、図3の(a)に示すように、例えばアニメ特撮というジャンルの画像だけのリストを表示することができる。ここで、ジャンルとは、例えば、1.洋画、2.邦画、3.音楽、4.ドラマ、5.アニメ/特撮、6.スポーツ、7.ドキュメンタリー教養、8.劇場公演、9.バラエティ、10.趣味教育、11.ニュース報道、12.その他、13.ジャンルなし、等が考えられる。しかし、サブジャンルの入れ替えができるようにすることも好適であり、ユーザ頻度の多いものにカスタマイズ可能な仕様とすることも好適である。

又、更に特定の曜日を指定して曜日別表示としてもよく、図3の(b)のように金曜日の画像だけをリストとして表示することも可能である。

このような検索表示を行うために、ユーザは検索情報を入力するわけであるが、その入力方法として、図4、図5、図6のような画像表示を行うことで、ユーザは対話形式の中で検索情報を選択し指定することが好適である。すなわち、ジャンル別の指示情報を入力する場合は、図4において、このようなクイック画面から、(a)のようにジャンル別表示を選択し、(b)のように表れるジャンル、1.映画から10.ジャンルなしまでの必要な情報を選択するものである。同様に、図5の(a)では、曜日別表示を選択した上で、(b)では希望する曜日を選択すればよい。

又、ディスク別表示、ジャンル別表示、曜日別表示を行っている際にクイック操作画面を呼び出すと、図6に示すような全リスト表示を含んでいる画面が表れ、最初のライブラリ一覧へといつでも戻ることが可能となる。

このようなライブラリの検索表示は、例えば以下のような動作によって実現されるものである。すなわち、図9において、ライブラリの検索表示が求められると(S41)、マイクロコンピュータブロック16のライブラリ情報管理部16−1の制御下により、例えば、図4,図5で述べたようなクイック画面により検索条件の設定が行われる(S42)。次に、この設定された検索条件画面に基づいて、ライブラリ情報が1件読み出される(S43)。条件が一致したことが確認できれば(S44)これを表示する(S45)。このような手順で、与えられた検索情報に応じてライブラリの全ての情報を読み出し、一致していれば表示を実行するという作業と行うことで、検索表示が行われる(S46)。

このように、検索情報を入力し、これに一致した情報だけを検索表示することで、ディスク別表示、曜日別表示、ジャンル別表示等が可能となり、ユーザは目的の画像を迅速に容易に見つけだすことが可能となる。

次に、このようにライブラリ情報として画面上に表示された際に、ユーザがその中の画像の再生を希望した場合にこれを再生する際の動作を図面を用いて説明する。図7は、本発明に係るライブラリ機能の基本動作を説明するための図、図10はライブラリ機能のライブラリからの再生の動作を説明するフローチャートである。
