2. Description of the Related Art In digital broadcasting, as shown in FIG. 6, a time-shift service broadcasting is planned in which a program having the same content is broadcast on a plurality of channels A to E with a delay time being shifted stepwise. According to the time shift service broadcast, if the viewing start operation is performed by the broadcast start time of the channel that starts latest, the broadcast of any channel will start immediately after that.
It is possible to realize "near video on demand" operation, which is similar to video on demand operation.

Although an operation similar to that of a VTR is possible, a plurality of viewers watch one channel in near video on demand, and therefore an operation like that of a VTR is impossible. Therefore, an object of the present invention is to pause, rewind, and rewind in a VTR by using time shift service broadcasting.
And to enable an operation close to fast-forward.

In a first digital broadcast receiver according to the present invention, a program having the same content is broadcast on a plurality of channels, and the plurality of channels have different delay times with respect to the broadcast time of the program. The present invention realizes an operation close to a pause (temporary interruption of viewing) of a VTR by receiving a time-shift service broadcast being performed, and an operating means for inputting a viewing interruption command and a viewing restart command, and a viewing interruption. After the command is issued, the time measuring means for measuring the interruption time until the viewing restart command is issued, and immediately after the viewing restart command is issued, the delay times of the plurality of channels are acquired from the digital broadcast signal. The storage means for storing and the storage means are searched in response to a viewing restart command, and the relative delay time based on the initially viewed channel is longer than the interruption time. There are comprises search means for determining a channel having a and closest to the interrupt time value, the channel which has been viewed initially, a channel switching means for switching the channel the determined.

In the digital broadcast receiver, when a viewing interruption command is issued while a certain channel is being viewed, the timing means starts timing from that point. After that, when a viewing restart command is issued, the time measuring means calculates the interruption time and sends the result to the searching means. Further, at the time point when the viewing restart command is issued, the storage means acquires and stores the delay times of the plurality of channels from the information multiplexed and sent in the digital broadcast. After that, the search means searches the storage means to determine the channel to switch to. Since the determined switching destination channel has a delay time longer than the interruption time with respect to the initially viewed channel, no overlooked portion of the program occurs when switching to this channel. Further, the determined switching destination channel has a delay time which is the closest to the interruption time with respect to the initially viewed channel, so that the overlapping viewing portion of the program can be minimized.

The second digital broadcast receiver according to the present invention is a time shift service in which a program having the same content is broadcast on a plurality of channels, and the plurality of channels have different delay times with respect to the broadcast time of the program. An operation unit for receiving a broadcast and rewinding or fast-forwarding a VTR, and an operation means for inputting the desired time difference, and a digital broadcast signal immediately after the desired time difference is input. From the storage means for acquiring the delay time of the plurality of channels from the storage unit and the input of the desired time difference, the desired time difference is added to or subtracted from the delay time of the channel currently being viewed, The calculation means for calculating the target delay time, the search means for searching the channel having the delay time closest to the target delay time, and the channel that was originally viewed The panel, which comprises a channel switching means for switching to the searched channel.

[0007] In the digital broadcast receiver, when a reverse feed command (or forward feed) is issued and a desired time difference is input while watching a certain channel, the storage means is multiplexed and sent to the digital broadcast. The delay times of a plurality of channels are acquired from the incoming information and stored. Next, the calculating means calculates the target delay time by adding (subtracting in the case of forward feed) the input time difference to the delay time of the channel currently being viewed. After that, the search means searches the storage means to determine the channel to switch to. The determined switching destination channel has the delay time closest to the target delay time with respect to the initially viewed channel, so that the desired reverse feed operation (or forward feed operation) is realized. FIG. 2 shows a procedure for receiving a time shift service broadcast by the digital broadcast receiver.
First, in step S1, a procedure for starting viewing of near video on demand is executed, and then in step S2, viewing of a program by near video on demand is started. Next, in step S3, it is determined whether any of a pause operation, a reverse feed operation, and a forward feed operation has been performed. In the case of a pause operation, the operation proceeds to step S4, and in the case of a reverse feed operation, the operation proceeds to step S7. In 4, the program delay information of the channel currently being viewed and the current time are stored. FIG. 4A shows an example of the stored contents at this point. Next, in step S5 of FIG. 2, it is determined whether or not a pause ending operation is performed, and if YES, the process proceeds to step S6 to calculate the elapsed time from the stored current time, that is, the interruption time. . Also, the program delay information of all channels broadcasting the same program is acquired and stored. Figure 4
(b) shows an example of the stored contents at this time. At the start of interruption, three channels A, B, and C were broadcast, but at the end of interruption, four channels D to G were added to the broadcast.

Further, in step S6 of FIG. 2, the jump destination channel is determined based on the interruption time and the program delay information. That is, the program delay information is searched, and the channel whose relative delay time with respect to the initially viewed channel is larger than the interruption time and has a value closest to the interruption time is selected. When there is no corresponding channel, the channel having the maximum relative delay time is selected, and when the initially viewed channel is the last channel, the last channel is selected.

After that, the channel is switched in step S9 of FIG. For example, as shown in FIG. 5, when the interruption time from the start of the pause to the end of the pause is 10 minutes, and if a channel delayed by 15 minutes is selected, the channel is switched at the end of the pause. This causes duplication in viewing the program for the first 5 minutes, but prevents partial oversight of the program. Further step S

When the reverse feed operation is performed, the target delay time is determined by adding the desired reverse feed time to the delay time of the channel currently being viewed after acquiring the program delay information in step S7. To do. Then, the channel having the relative delay time closest to the target delay time is selected and this is determined as the jump destination channel. Next in step S9
After that, the channel is changed over to step S10, and it is determined in step S10 whether or not the program has ended. If NO, the process returns to step S3, and if YES, the near video on-demand viewing procedure ends.

When the forward feed operation is performed, in step S8, after obtaining the program delay information, the desired forward feed time is subtracted from the delay time of the channel currently being viewed,
Determine the target delay time. Then, the channel having the relative delay time closest to the target delay time is selected and this is determined as the jump destination channel. Then step S
