Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a technique for recording a performance and performing loop reproduction.
There is a technique in which sounds generated by a user's performance are recorded over a period of several seconds, and the sounds recorded during that period are repeatedly reproduced, and further, the sounds produced by the performance are added to the reproduced sounds and recorded. . Hereinafter, the repeated reproduction may be referred to as loop reproduction. According to this technique, multiplex recording can be performed while loop-playing already recorded sound. Such multiple recording is not limited to the case of recording as data indicating the waveform of an actual sound. That is, sound generation control data such as a performance event generated in response to a performance operation may be recorded. The performance event is information for sound generation control of the sound source such as key-on and key-off, for example. For example,
According to this technique, the time for loop playback is determined according to the time of the first recording. The recording period from the start to the end of sound recording is defined by the user's switch operation. During this recording period, the user plays while assuming the beat length. Here, if the length of the recording period (recording time) determined by the user's switch operation is not an integral multiple of the beat length assumed by the user, the user will feel uncomfortable during loop playback. End up. Therefore, the user is required to accurately operate the switch for determining the recording period.
However, since the switch operation is performed almost in parallel with the performance, it is difficult to accurately operate the recording stop switch. On the other hand, if the recording time is set in advance, the operation of the recording end switch becomes unnecessary. In such a case, special settings are required before performance. Further, even if the user wants to change the recording time while performing during recording, the recording time cannot be changed.
One of the objects of the present invention is to realize an appropriate recording time even when recording is stopped by a user operation during recording.

<First Embodiment>
[Overview]
FIG. 1 is a diagram showing an external appearance of an electronic keyboard instrument in the first embodiment of the present invention. The
The
The loop period is determined according to the initial recording period. In addition, if there is a further recording start instruction during loop playback, the content of the performance is recorded in a form that is additionally recorded (sometimes referred to as overdubbing) to the loop playback sound after that until the recording end instruction. Is recorded.
The above recording may record sound data indicating the waveform of an actual sound signal, but in this example, it means recording sound generation control data including various performance events for sound generation. Yes. Therefore, in this example, a sound signal is generated by supplying the recorded sound generation control data to the sound source unit 60 (see FIG. 2). Hereinafter, a configuration for realizing the above processing will be described in detail. In addition, when recording sound data, it demonstrates as another embodiment. The sound generation control data and the sound data are both examples of sound generation information for generating sound.
[Hardware configuration]
FIG. 2 is a diagram showing a hardware configuration of the electronic keyboard instrument according to the first embodiment of the present invention. The
The
The
The
The
The
[Performance recording function]
Next, the performance recording function among the functions realized by the
FIG. 3 is a diagram showing the configuration of the performance recording function in the first embodiment of the present invention. The
The
The
The
The
The
The sound generation control data acquired during the recording period is recorded in time series as the time controlled by the
The
The identifying
The
After the end of the recording period, the loop period continues. Although details will be described later, the outline of the migration processing is as follows. When a delimiter position after the recording stop instruction timing is specified as the stop delimiter position EP, the current time CT pointed to by the advancing
When there is a recording start instruction during playback of the loop period, the
[Loop recording process]
Next, processing (loop recording processing) executed by the
FIG. 4 is a flowchart showing the loop recording process in the first embodiment of the present invention. When the start of the loop recording process is instructed by the user's operation on the
If it is determined that there is a recording start instruction (step S103; Yes), the
FIG. 5 is a flowchart showing recording processing in the first embodiment of the present invention. When the recording process is started, the
If the tone generation control data output from the
The
The
Subsequently, the
An example in which the performance event from the start of the loop recording process until the recording stop instruction is recorded by the
KN(白丸):キーオン、KF(X):キーオフ
FIG. 6 is a diagram for explaining an example of a performance event recorded by the loop recording process. In FIG. 6, the horizontal axis is represented as a time axis, and the timing of each operation is represented by reference numerals. Each code is as follows.
RR: start instruction of loop recording processing, RS: recording start instruction, RE: recording stop instruction REC: recording period D0 to D5: delimiter position (corresponding to beat)
KN (white circle): key on, KF (X): key off (bold line between corresponding key on and key off with the same key number)
After the start instruction RR of the loop recording process, a guide sound is output every beat, and the recording period REC is started by the recording start instruction RS. In the recording period REC until the recording stop instruction RE, there are four key-ons KN in the example of FIG. Key-on KN and key-off KF in the recording period REC are recorded as recording data in association with the occurrence time information. In this example, since the key-off KF4 corresponding to the last key-on has occurred after the recording stop instruction RE, the data is not recorded as it is. If this is the case, the sound corresponding to the last key-on will remain sounded, so a performance event corresponding to the key-off KF4 is automatically added. This specific process (see FIGS. 8, 9, and 10) will be described later. In this example, there is no state where a plurality of keys are pressed simultaneously, but this state may exist.
Next, a method for specifying the stop break position EP in step S121 in FIG. 4 will be described with reference to FIG.
FIG. 7 is a diagram for explaining the relationship between the recording stop instruction and the stop break position. In this example, the break position closest to the recording stop instruction timing is specified as the stop break position EP. In the section D4W between the midpoint DH3 between the delimiter positions D3 and D4 and the midpoint DH4 between the delimiter positions D4 and D5, if there is a recording stop instruction, the delimiter position D4 is specified as the stop delimiter position EP. . In the example of FIG. 7, if the recording stop instruction timing is RE1 or RE2, the delimiter position D4 is specified as the stop delimiter position EP. On the other hand, for RE3, the delimiter position D5 is specified as the stop delimiter position EP.
FIG. 8 is a flowchart showing the loop recording process continued from FIG. When the stop break position EP is specified in the process of step S121 shown in FIG. 4, the
On the other hand, if it is determined in step S123 that EP> CT is not satisfied (that is, EP ≦ CT) (step S123; No), the performance event recorded after the stop delimiter position EP is deleted (step S131).
If it is determined in step S129 that EP = CT (step S129; Yes), or after the process of step S131 is executed, a key-off performance event corresponding to all key-ons exists before the stop break position EP. Whether or not (step S133). If it is determined in step S123 that EP> CT (step S123; Yes), there is no performance event recording after the recording stop instruction timing. Therefore, in the determination in step S133, as a substantial process, whether or not there is a target key-off in the period before the recording stop instruction timing (CT in the determination in step S123) instead of the stop break position EP. You may make it determine.
If a key-off performance event corresponding to all key-ons exists before the stop break position EP (step S133; No), “0” is set to the current time CT (step S137) and the current time CT is reset. Then, the reproduction process (loop reproduction process) is started (step S300).
On the other hand, when there is no key-off corresponding to a part of key-on (step S133; Yes), the
FIG. 9 is a diagram illustrating an example in which a stop break position is specified after a recording stop instruction. When the stop break position EP (break position D4) is specified after the recording stop instruction RE, the
Here, the current time CT is reset after the current time CT has reached the stop delimiter position EP (step S129; Yes) by the processing in steps S125, S127, and S129 in FIG. Continue to (Step S300). That is, the playback process (step S300) is not started immediately after the recording stop instruction, but apparently the loop recording process is continued in the state RA until the stop break position EP without recording the performance event. Thereby, since the loop period is defined in beat units, the length can be defined as an integral multiple of the beat. Further, when the reproduction process is started, the reproduction process described later is started while maintaining the periodicity of the beat in the loop recording process. Therefore, the sense of rhythm does not shift when shifting from the loop recording process to the loop reproduction process. In the period RA, only the key-off performance event may be recorded. In this case, the end point of the recording period REC is after the recording stop instruction RE.
FIG. 10 is a diagram illustrating an example in which a stop delimiter position is specified before a recording stop instruction. When the stop break position EP (break position D4) is specified before the recording stop instruction RE, and when the key-off is not recorded before the stop break position EP, the
Note that the time RD may be changed depending on whether or not the key-off KF is recorded. For example, when the key-off KF is recorded after the stop break position EP, the time RD may be made longer than when the key-off KF is not recorded.
As described above, when the stop break position EP is specified before the recording stop instruction, the process proceeds from the loop recording process to the loop reproduction process immediately after the recording stop instruction. In this case, since the transition is not made at the break position, the sense of rhythm may be shifted. However, since the loop period is maintained at an integral multiple of the beat as described above, a great sense of incongruity does not occur. In order to further reduce this uncomfortable feeling, the break position after the recording stop instruction may be easily specified as the stop break position EP. In the example of FIG. 7, the section D4W may be shifted to a previous period. In addition, the timing at which the loop recording process is shifted to the loop reproduction process may be set as the next break position after the stop break position EP.
Assuming the transition from the loop recording process to the loop reproduction process immediately after the recording stop instruction, the start part of the loop reproduction process may be shifted by the time from the stop break position EP to the recording stop instruction RE. For example, when the time from the stop break position EP to the recording stop instruction RE corresponds to 100 ticks, CT = 100 may be set in the process of step 137 in FIG. 8 for specifying the start position of the loop reproduction process. In this case, some sounds may not be pronounced, but since the periodicity of the beat in the loop recording process remains maintained, the sense of rhythm does not shift.
Next, the reproduction process in step S300 will be described with reference to FIG.
FIG. 11 is a flowchart showing the reproduction processing in the first embodiment of the present invention. When the reproduction process is started, the
Subsequently, the
Subsequently, the
If it is determined in step S303 that recording is in progress (step S303; Yes), the
As described above, in the

Second Embodiment
In the second embodiment, a description will be given of an
FIG. 12 is a diagram showing a system in which a plurality of electronic keyboard instruments according to the second embodiment of the present invention are connected. In this example, a system in which two
For example, the timing control signal can be controlled so that the break positions of one beat coincide with each other. For this reason, when the slave device has recorded data, the progress of the time is controlled based on the timing control signal, and loop reproduction processing is performed using the recorded data, whereby the master device and the
<Third Embodiment>
In the third embodiment, a case will be described in which an object to be recorded as recording data is not sound generation control data but waveform data indicating a sound waveform. In this example, the loop period is determined in the same manner as in the first embodiment. Since the data to be recorded is sound waveform data, in the case of controlling the progress of time based on tempo information, waveform expansion / contraction processing is executed based on tempo information in loop reproduction processing. The expansion / contraction process is desirably performed so that the pitch of the sound is not changed.
Even in the loop recording process, only the data to be recorded is different, and basically the same process as in the first embodiment is possible. If waveform data recording is stopped by a recording stop instruction prior to the stop break position EP, if the waveform amplitude is greater than or equal to a certain value at the time of the recording stop instruction, any of the recording stop instructions until the stop break position EP will occur. Until this timing, the waveform may be expanded without changing the pitch of the sound. At this time, the amplitude may be attenuated. On the other hand, when waveform data recording is stopped by a recording stop instruction after the stop break position EP, the waveform is compressed without changing the sound pitch so that the end point of the waveform data comes before the stop break position EP. May be.
