パソコンが常時インターネットなどの公衆回線と繋がっていると、ウィルス対策ソフトなどが、インストールされていても、つねにデータ流出などの危険がつきまとう。そこで、インターネットなどの公衆回線接続専用のOSと重要データを扱うOSをわけ一つのパソコン上で処理できれば、データ流出の心配もなくかつ効率的に作業をおこなえると判断した。 If your computer is always connected to a public network such as the Internet, there will always be a risk of data leaks, even if anti-virus software is installed. 従来ひとつのパソコンにOSを複数インストールするのに、マルチOSと言われるハードディスクのパーティションを切り分け、ブート時に選択するものとVMWAREのようにひとつのOS上に別のOSを動かす仮想OS的なものである。
マルチOSは一つづつしか立ち上がらないので、いちいち再立ち上げを繰り返さなくてはならないので、平行処理をするには時間的ロスが非常に大きい。
VMWAREはLANコネクタが共通であり、つねにデータ流出の危険性は付きまとう。
