Abstract

Description
抽出物の産生のための開始物質は、通常はザクロの果皮、内膜および種子を含むザクロ固形物である。ザクロ固形物は、種衣からの最初のジュースが加圧、粉砕または他のザクロジュースを抽出するための当該技術に既知の方法によりザクロから実質的に放出あるいは除去された後に、取得され採集される。
ザクロジュースおよびザクロ抽出物中のプニカラジン、プニカリン、エラグ酸グリコシド、およびエラグ酸ポリフェノールの濃度を分析し、大学研究において比較した。
前立腺特異抗原(PSA)パラメータにおけるザクロジュースの積極的で重要な有益な効果が、インビトロの細胞の成長およびアポトーシスにおける前立腺癌での対応する特殊効果と共に、再発性の前立腺癌を有する患者における臨床試験で示された。
ザクロジュースおよびザクロ固形抽出物の両方が様々の種類の抗酸化ポリフェノールを含有するが、ザクロ固形抽出物はザクロジュースよりも高い全ポリフェノール含有量を有する。したがって、前立腺癌を有する患者に8oz(0.2479kg)のザクロジュースを投与することにより前立腺癌を有する患者においてPSA倍加時間が増加することが示されたという程度まで、ザクロ固形抽出物の投与もまた、少なくとも同じ、および好ましくは改善された効果を達成した。
Claims (15)
- ザクロから植生化学物質を含有する抽出物を産生する方法であって、該方法が、
種衣から最初のジュースが実質的に放出または除去された後に得られるザクロ固形物であって、果皮、内膜および種子の1つ以上を含むザクロ固形物を提供し;
水溶液中で前記ザクロ固形物を含む混合物を作成し;
約15℃(60°F)から99℃(210°F)の温度に前記混合物を加熱し;
前記ザクロ固形物を少なくとも部分的に分解するのに十分な量で前記混合物に酵素を加え;
前記混合物から残存する不溶性の固形物を除去して植生化学物質を含有する結果抽出物を提供し;
前記結果抽出物を濃縮する、

前記結果抽出物が、種衣から実質的に得られるザクロジュース中に見られるよりも多くのポリフェノール、特に高分子量ポリフェノールを含有することを特徴とする方法。 - 少なくとも1000Daの分子量カットオフにおいて前記結果抽出物を精密濾過する工程をさらに含むことを特徴とする請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記ザクロ固形物を含む混合物を、該ザクロ固形物の約20-80% w/vの量で該ザクロ固形物に水を加えることにより作成することを特徴とする請求項2記載の方法。
- 前記混合物を、前記ザクロ固形物の約50% w/vの量で該ザクロ固形物に水を加えることにより作成することを特徴とする請求項3記載の方法。
- 前記混合物を粉砕する工程をさらに含むことを特徴とする請求項3記載の方法。
- 前記混合物を粉砕する工程により、前記水溶液中に分散するザクロ固形物の粗い粒が生じることを特徴とする請求項5記載の方法。
- 前記混合物を、約29℃(85°F)から85℃(185°F)の温度に加熱することを特徴とする請求項5記載の方法。
- 前記混合物を、約43℃(110°F)から71℃(160°F)の温度に加熱することを特徴とする請求項7記載の方法。
- 前記混合物を、約49℃(120°F)の温度に加熱することを特徴とする請求項8記載の方法。
- 前記酵素が、セルラーゼ、ヘミセルラーゼおよびペクチナーゼからなる群より選択される任意の1つ以上の酵素であることを特徴とする請求項7記載の方法。
- 前記混合物を約15℃(60°F)から99℃(210°F)の温度に維持する工程をさらに含むことを特徴とする請求項10記載の方法。
- 前記混合物を、約29℃(85°F)から85℃(185°F)の温度に維持することを特徴とする請求項11記載の方法。
- 前記混合物を、約43℃(110°F)から71℃(160°F)の温度に維持することを特徴とする請求項12記載の方法。
- 前記混合物を約15℃(60°F)から99℃(210°F)の温度に維持する工程が、前記酵素を前記混合物に加える工程の後に行われることを特徴とする請求項11記載の方法。
- 前記混合物を約15℃(60°F)から99℃(210°F)の温度に約45-195分間維持することを特徴とする請求項11記載の方法。
