Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a liquid ejecting head and a liquid ejecting apparatus that eject liquid.
As a liquid ejecting head, for example, a nozzle plate having a plurality of nozzle openings is bonded to one surface, and a plurality of pressure generating chambers communicating with each nozzle and a manifold that is a common ink chamber of each pressure generating chamber are used. One having a flow path forming substrate that forms a reservoir is known (for example, see Patent Document 1).
An elastic film is formed on the other surface of the flow path forming substrate, and a pressure generating element that ejects liquid from the nozzle opening by changing the pressure in the pressure generating chamber at a position facing the pressure generating chamber through the elastic film. The piezoelectric element is arranged. In addition, a protective substrate for protecting the piezoelectric element is provided on the other surface of the flow path forming substrate.
A plurality of layers of compliance substrates including a sealing film and a fixing plate are disposed on the protective substrate, and a case head as a holding member is disposed on the compliance substrate. The case head is provided with an ink introduction path as a liquid introduction path for introducing the liquid into the reservoir. Further, the compliance substrate is formed with an ink introduction port as a liquid introduction port constituting a part of the ink introduction path. Here, the introduced liquid contains a solvent corresponding to the solute for viscosity adjustment and the like.
また、圧電素子にはリード電極が接続され、リード電極には、フレキシブル配線基板としてのCOF(Chip On Film)基板が、導電性粒子を潰して電気的接続を行なう異方性導電性接着剤、例えば、ACF(Anisotropic Condactive Film)、ACP(Anisotropic Condactive Paste)等により接続されている。 In addition, a lead electrode is connected to the piezoelectric element, and a COF (Chip On Film) substrate as a flexible wiring substrate is connected to the lead electrode by an anisotropic conductive adhesive that smashes conductive particles to make electrical connection, For example, they are connected by an ACF (Anisotropic Conductive Film), an ACP (Anisotropic Conductive Paste), or the like. The flexible wiring board is passed through the protective substrate and the case head, and is connected to an external control unit via a drive IC of the piezoelectric element and a terminal of the connection board.
However, the liquid solvent tends to enter the protective substrate and the case head through the compliance substrate from the liquid inlet formed in the compliance substrate. The infiltrated solvent decomposes or swells the resin used in the anisotropic conductive adhesive that connects the lead electrode of the piezoelectric element and the flexible wiring board, resulting in poor contact between the lead electrode and the flexible wiring board.
The present invention has been made to solve the above-described problems, and can be realized as the following forms or application examples.
[Application Example 1]
A pressure generating chamber communicating with a nozzle opening for injecting a liquid, a flow path forming substrate in which a manifold communicating with the pressure generating chamber is formed, a pressure generating element provided for each pressure generating chamber, and the pressure generating element A protective substrate to be covered; a compliance substrate which is provided on the protective substrate and forms the manifold between the protective substrate; and a through hole formed in the protective substrate and drawn from an electrode formed on the pressure generating element A lead electrode exposed in the hole, a holding member provided on the protective substrate and connected to the through-hole and a liquid introduction path for introducing liquid; and a liquid introduction path provided on the compliance substrate. And a liquid introduction port communicating with the manifold, and an opening formed in the compliance substrate corresponding to the through hole and the holding hole And a flexible wiring board having an end portion connected to the lead electrode by an anisotropic conductive adhesive, the inner surface of the opening portion being the holding portion. A liquid jet head characterized by being surrounded by members.
According to this application example, the flow of the liquid solvent from the inner surface of the opening formed in the compliance substrate to the holding hole and the through hole is transmitted from the liquid introduction port communicating with the liquid introduction path to the holding hole and the through hole. The amount of the solvent that is hindered by the holding member surrounding the inner surface and leaks into the holding hole and the through hole is reduced. Therefore, the time until the solvent leaks to the holding hole and the through hole can be gained, and the time until the contact failure between the lead electrode and the flexible wiring board occurs as compared with the configuration in which the holding member surrounding the inner surface of the opening does not exist. A long liquid jet head is obtained.
[Application Example 2]
The liquid ejecting head according to
In this application example, since the inner surface of the opening is in intimate contact with the holding member, the flow of the liquid solvent from the inner surface of the opening toward the holding hole and the through hole is further hindered by the holding member and is transmitted along the compliance substrate. The amount of solvent that leaks into the holes and through holes is further reduced. Therefore, the time until the solvent leaks to the holding hole and the through hole can be further increased, and the contact failure between the lead electrode and the flexible wiring board occurs as compared with the configuration in which there is no holding member in close contact with the inner surface of the opening. A liquid jet head with a longer time is obtained.
In addition, since the compliance substrate and the holding member are integrally formed, handling of the compliance substrate is facilitated during manufacturing, and alignment and adhesion between the protective substrate and the compliance substrate are easy to perform.
[Application Example 3]
The liquid ejecting head according to
In this application example, the compliance substrate is provided with a liquid introduction port that communicates with the liquid introduction path. Therefore, the amount of liquid solvent that travels from the inner surface of the liquid introduction port to the compliance substrate and toward the inner surface of the opening is large. A liquid jet head that can achieve the above-described effects can be obtained.
[Application Example 4]
The liquid ejecting head, wherein the holding member surrounds an inner surface of the liquid inlet of the compliance substrate.
In this application example, since the holding member surrounds the inner surface of the liquid introduction port, the flow of the solvent of the liquid toward the compliance substrate through the inner surface of the liquid introduction port is prevented, and the holding hole and the through hole are transmitted along the compliance substrate. The amount of solvent that leaks into is further reduced. Therefore, the time until the solvent leaks into the holding hole and the through hole can be further increased, and the contact failure between the lead electrode and the flexible wiring board occurs as compared with the configuration in which the holding member surrounding the inner surface of the liquid introduction port does not exist. A liquid jet head with a longer time is obtained.
[Application Example 5]
The liquid ejecting head according to
In this application example, since the inner surface of the liquid introduction port is in close contact with the holding member, the flow of the solvent of the liquid passing through the inner surface of the liquid introduction port is further hindered by the holding member, and the holding hole and the through hole are transmitted along the compliance substrate. The amount of solvent that leaks into is further reduced. Accordingly, the time until the solvent leaks to the holding hole and the through hole can be further increased, and the contact failure between the lead electrode and the flexible wiring board occurs as compared with the configuration in which there is no holding member in close contact with the inner surface of the liquid introduction port. Thus, a liquid jet head with a longer time can be obtained.
In addition, since the compliance substrate and the holding member are integrally formed, handling of the compliance substrate is facilitated during manufacturing, and alignment and adhesion between the protective substrate and the compliance substrate are easy to perform.
[Application Example 6]
In the liquid ejecting head, an inner surface of the opening is bonded to the holding member with an adhesive.
In this application example, since there is an adhesive between the inner surface of the opening and the holding member, the flow of the liquid solvent through the inner surface is further hindered by the adhesive and the holding member, and the holding hole and The amount of solvent leaking into the through hole is further reduced. Therefore, the time until the solvent leaks to the holding hole and the through hole can be further increased, and the contact failure between the lead electrode and the flexible wiring board compared to the configuration in which no adhesive is present between the inner surface of the opening and the holding member. Thus, a liquid ejecting head having a longer time until occurrence of the liquid is obtained.
Further, since the compliance substrate and the holding member are bonded with an adhesive, the compliance substrate can be easily handled during manufacturing, and the protective substrate and the compliance substrate can be easily aligned and bonded.
[Application Example 7]
The liquid ejecting head according to
In this application example, since the compliance substrate is composed of a plurality of layers bonded with a bonding adhesive, the solvent easily leaks to the holding hole and the through hole through the bonding adhesive, but by the holding member surrounding the inner surface of the opening The amount of leakage to the holding hole and the through hole is reduced.

The manifold 100 is provided to the vicinity of both end portions of the
