Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a transmission medium conversion device component comprising a polyphenylene ether resin composition containing polyphenylene ether and recovered polystyrene.
Polystyrene resins are excellent in various moldability and are inexpensive, and are used in a wide variety of fields including daily necessities. Because of its excellent electrical properties, it has also been used for electrical equipment.
On the other hand, polyphenylene ether resin is widely known as a resin excellent in heat resistance, mechanical properties, flame retardancy, and electrical properties, and is improved in molding processability by blending with polystyrene resin. It is known as a modified polyphenylene ether, such as a material that improves flame retardancy by blending a flame retardant, a material blended with inorganic reinforcing materials and fillers, etc. Widely used in applications such as electrical / electronic parts, office equipment, industrial products, and building materials.
As a polystyrene resin blended with such a modified polyphenylene ether, an unused resin material (virgin material) such as homopolystyrene (GPPS) or rubber-modified polystyrene (HIPS) has been used.
By the way, the polystyrene-based resin that has been molded and used in the past has been usually discarded or used for low-value commercial purposes.
Further, molding end materials such as sprues and runners generated at the time of molding a polystyrene-based resin, recyclable defective molded products, and the like have been treated as so-called factory recycling.
Therefore, by reusing used molded products of polystyrene resin recovered from the market and the above-mentioned molded end materials and defective molded products (hereinafter simply referred to as recovered polystyrene), from the viewpoint of effective use of resources and waste disposal. The effect is great.
By the way, the resin composition containing the polyphenylene ether using the recovered polystyrene is conventionally known (for example, refer to Patent Document 1, Patent Document 2, and Patent Document 3).
However, such a resin composition containing recovered polystyrene and polyphenylene ether is inferior in performance such as mechanical properties and flame retardancy as compared to a resin composition containing polyphenylene ether using an unused polystyrene resin, and has a commercial value. It was not fully satisfactory for use in high-priced goods.
With the enforcement of the Green Purchasing Law, the demand for recycled products has been increasing in recent years. From this point of view, it has been desired that modified polyphenylene ethers using recovered polystyrene also be used for materials with the same characteristics as modified polyphenylene ethers using unused polystyrene resins, and for applications with high commercial value. .

It is an object of the present invention to provide a transmission medium conversion device part made of ether.

The (B) recovered polystyrene used in the present invention is obtained by recovering a polystyrene molded body (including sheets and films) processed by various molding processes, and is crushed into small pieces or further melted. Such as cooled pellets. Although homopolystyrene and rubber-modified polystyrene that do not contain a halogen-based flame retardant can be used, a polystyrene molded product having transparency is preferable. A polystyrene molded body having transparency is convenient because it can easily check the degree of deterioration of the resin, as well as easily confirm the contamination of foreign matters, and can appropriately select the means (method) of reuse. The transparent polystyrene used in the present invention is homopolystyrene (general purpose polystyrene) containing almost no rubber component. The transparency of the transparent polystyrene used in the present invention is not strict, but a 3 mm-thick flat plate obtained in accordance with JIS-K-7361-1 has a total light transmittance of about 50% or more. More preferably, it is 60%, particularly preferably 70% or more. Recovered polystyrene with low total light transmittance often contains rubber-modified polystyrene (high-impact polystyrene), and the rubber contained therein is mostly polybutadiene, and its rubber component has deteriorated. It is not preferable for the composition of the present invention. High impact polystyrene with deteriorated rubber components adversely affects fluidity and flame retardancy, but does not contribute much to impact resistance. Polystyrene containing a rubber component that suppresses thermal degradation such as hydrogenated polybutadiene, hydrogenated styrene-butadiene block copolymer, and hydrogenated styrene-isoprene block copolymer is relatively useful because it works effectively in impact resistance. It is.

The upper limit is preferably 1.5 dl / g or less, and more preferably 1.2 dl / g or less.
The (C) unused polystyrene resin used in the present invention is a polystyrene resin that has never been processed in the form of pellets manufactured by a resin manufacturer. The unused polystyrene resin used in the present invention (hereinafter simply referred to as unused polystyrene) is preferably rubber-modified polystyrene (HIPS), preferably contains a relatively large amount of rubber components, and has a polybutadiene rubber content. More preferred is 8% by weight or more, and particularly preferred is high impact polystyrene having a polybutadiene rubber content of 10% by weight or more. The reduced viscosity (30 ° C., 0.5 g / 10 ml toluene solution) of the matrix polystyrene is preferably in the range of 0.5 to 1.2 dl / g, more preferably in the range of 0.55 to 0.90 dl / g.

Among these, aromatic condensed phosphoric ester compounds are preferably used because they generate less gas during processing and are excellent in thermal stability. These aromatic condensed phosphate ester compounds are generally commercially available, and for example, CR741, CR733S, PX200 from Daihachi Chemical Industry Co., Ltd. are known. In the resin composition of the present invention, the ratio of (A) polyphenylene ether and (B) recovered polystyrene + (C) unused polystyrene is arbitrarily selected according to the purpose such as heat resistance and mechanical properties. Is in the range of (A) / {(B) + (C)} = 10/90 to 95/5 (weight ratio), preferably (A) / {(B) + (C)} = 20/80 to 90 / 10 (weight ratio). The ratio of (B) recovered polystyrene to (C) unused polystyrene is in the range of (B) / (C) = 1/99 to 100/0 (weight ratio), preferably (B) / (C ) = Arbitrarily selected within the range of 10/90 to 90/10 (weight ratio), but when impact resistance is required, (C) HIPS as unused polystyrene is 10% by weight of the total polystyrene. The amount is preferably 30% by weight or more, more preferably 50% by weight or more.
In the resin composition of the present invention, (B) recovered polystyrene is preferably contained in the total resin composition in an amount of 5 to 70% by weight, more preferably 7 to 50% by weight. If the content is less than 5% by weight, it is not preferable from the viewpoint of effective use, and if it exceeds 70% by weight, there may be a problem in maintaining the properties of the resin composition.
In the resin composition of the present invention, the content of the flame retardant varies depending on the required flame retardant level, but generally the total of polyphenylene ether and polystyrene (including recovered polystyrene and unused polystyrene). It is desirable that 1 to 50 parts by weight, preferably 3 to 35 parts by weight is contained with respect to 100 parts by weight.
The composition of the present invention may contain an anti-drip agent such as polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) as a flame retardant aid.
Such polytetrafluoroethylene has a molecular weight of 100,000 or more, preferably about 200,000 to 3,000,000. For this reason, the drip at the time of combustion is suppressed in the resin composition containing polytetrafluoroethylene. Furthermore, when polytetrafluoroethylene and a silicone resin are used in combination, drip can be further suppressed and combustion time can be shortened as compared with the case where only polytetrafluoroethylene is added.

Also, there are high-density type, low-density type, chain type, and branched type in the production method, and any of them can be usefully used. It can also be used as a copolymer with other compounds. For example, a carboxylic acid group-containing compound such as maleic acid or citric acid or its acid anhydride, a copolymer with an acid compound containing an acrylic acid group such as an acrylic ester, and the like can also be used.
The alicyclic saturated hydrocarbon resin is a hydrogenated product of an aromatic hydrocarbon resin. Generally, aromatic hydrocarbon resins include C9 hydrocarbon resins, C5 / C9 hydrocarbon resins, indene-coumarone resins, vinyl aromatics. Group resin, terpene-vinyl aromatic resin and the like. The higher the hydrogenation rate, the better, but 30% or more is desirable. When there are many aromatic components, since other physical properties are impaired, it is not preferable.

The recovered polystyrene-polyphenylene ether resin composition of the present invention can be obtained by melt-mixing in one stage, but a more preferable production method is a two-stage melt-mixing extrusion method from the viewpoint of resin composition characteristics and quality stability. is there. That is, a resin composition obtained by melt-mixing unused polystyrene (C) into a mixture pellet of polyphenylene ether (A) having a weight average molecular weight of 60,000 or more and recovered polystyrene (B) obtained by melt-mixing in advance. Or a method of obtaining a resin composition by melting and mixing recovered polystyrene (B) into a mixture pellet of polyphenylene ether (A) and unused polystyrene (C) obtained by melt-mixing in advance. In particular, the former two-stage melt mixing extrusion method is preferred.
The characteristic evaluation of the obtained resin composition was performed by the following methods and conditions.
(1) Measurement of weight average molecular weight (PPE-MW) of polyphenylene ether 1.5 g of the resin composition is dissolved in 30 g of toluene, and separated into a toluene-soluble component and an insoluble component by centrifugation and filtration. 180 ml of methanol was added to the toluene-soluble component to reprecipitate the polymer component, and the reprecipitated polymer was filtered out and further vacuum dried at 150 ° C. to obtain a molecular weight measurement sample.
The preparation concentration of the sample for measuring the molecular weight is about 1 g of polyphenylene ether / liter of chloroform. Using the ShodexGPC System21 manufactured by Showa Denko KK, the detector wavelength is set to 283 nm and the analysis is automatically performed. The weight average molecular weight (PPE-MW) analysis result of the polyphenylene ether as a polystyrene conversion molecular weight was obtained.
