Examples of soft materials include natural rubber, butyl rubber, isoprene rubber, butadiene rubber, styrene-butadiene rubber, silicone rubber, various vulcanized materials (especially those vulcanized), polyurethane, and polyester. In addition, various elastomers such as polyamide, olefin, and styrene, or a mixture thereof can be used as a gasket for a syringe. In any case, those capable of withstanding various sterilizations such as high-pressure steam sterilization, EOG sterilization, and gamma ray sterilization are desirable.
