Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to design use of barcodes and QR codes.
When printing conventional barcodes and QR codes on paper media, they were color-coded with black or dark code on a white background.
Since it is unique to digital technology with binary principle as its main principle, the traditional interpretation that it was decided that it is a thing that clearly shows black and white, and the theoretical interpretation that the contrast can be secured most clearly for reliable reading Because of that combination was almost.
In principle, it is a system that recognizes the width, area, and shape of two surfaces with different colors and different reflectivities and converts them into digital data, so if two surfaces with different reflectivities are clearly defined The data can be read without any problem even if it is not a combination of white and black.
Similarly, a high reflectance portion that is normally left white is not necessarily required to be white if a distinctly different reflectance can be secured in comparison with the low reflectance portion.
Furthermore, both high reflectance and low reflectance portions can be recognized in the same way even if a plurality of colors are mixed in the same block.
In addition, because of its convenience, there are increasing opportunities to print QR codes on various printed materials, but due to area constraints, it can be said that the design is completely unsettled.
In recent years, there have been many opportunities to print QR codes with telephone numbers recorded on business cards. However, the size of a general business card, which is limited to a size of 91 x 55 mm, considering legibility. There were many design restrictions in order to place a 20mm square QR code.
When placing barcodes and QR codes on existing paper media as well as business cards, design constraints were inevitable.
In order to solve the above-described problems, the first invention is a barcode design in which the black ink (low reflectance) portion of the barcode or QR code is color-coded for each block or a pattern is arranged on the black ink portion.
At the same time, the barcode can be recognized even if the above-mentioned image with the image density suppressed to about 20% or less is arranged in the high reflectance portion which is usually processed with white outline to improve the legibility of the image.
Alternatively, the same result can be expected by overprinting a white ink having a transmittance of about 20% or less on a pre-arranged image in a shape of a portion required to have a high reflectance. In this case, a more complicated image can be arranged, and the degree of freedom in design increases.
The effect of the present invention improves the degree of freedom of barcode design on printed matter with a limited area such as business cards and packages.
A visual effect like mosaicing the image placed under the barcode can be obtained.
The access rate to the data in the barcode is improved due to the eye-catching effect and topicality resulting from the unexpected design.
First, it is desirable that the image arranged under the barcode is a low-contrast image with uniform brightness as a whole.
Then, the black (low reflectance) portion separated from the barcode generated by the dedicated software is placed as a mask, and the placement screen is cut out and defined as the low reflectance portion.
Then, a margin part that is slightly larger than the low reflectance part is arranged below, or a part similar to the arrangement image processed to have a transparency of about 20% or less is defined as a high reflectance part. .
FIG. 1 shows an embodiment of the present invention.
The arrangement image 1 prepared according to the size of the
Separately, the margin part 4 is arranged below and defined as a high reflectance part.
Then, the barcode 5 is generated by combining the low reflectance portion and the high reflectance portion.
FIG. 2 is another embodiment of the present invention.
High reflection is achieved by overprinting 80% white ink and a varnish that efficiently reflects to the front surface in the portion corresponding to the
"Effect of the embodiment"
According to the first and second embodiments, video information can be separately superimposed on the barcode surface, the information density can be increased, and the degree of freedom in design is increased.
Further, according to the second embodiment, it is possible to arrange barcodes while minimizing the influence on the base design.
"Other embodiments"
In Example 2, the high-reflectance portion was defined by overprinting with white ink, but instead, a transparent hologram sheet adjusted so as to efficiently reflect light from the front direction was pasted into a block shape. By doing so, a high reflectance portion may be generated.
In this case, the barcode can be arranged with less influence on the arrangement image 6 depending on the properties of the hologram sheet.
