Abstract

<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve problems such as the replacement of a battery in case of an active tag, the time required for charge in use of a secondary battery, the purchase cost in case of a primary battery, and the increase of the number of installed interrogators and the communication distance in the case of a passive tag. <P>SOLUTION: A capacitor such as an electric double layer capacitor or the like is used for the transponder, and a mechanism for wave supply and a wave-for-supply receiving antenna are mounted on the transponder. When a used transponder is put in from the user's door 3 of a charge box 1, the transponder is guided to a charge slope 5 fitted with a charging circuit 9 by means of a guide plate 2, and charge is started, and when the charge is finished, it drops off the charge slope 5, thus transponders are collected at the bottom of the charge box. In case that the transponders are put in successively, the temporary stop or resume of the charge is performed according to the perception state of a recovery door opening/closing sensor 1. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI

Description

The present invention relates to a power supply for a responder and a power regeneration method in an RFID system (hereinafter referred to as RFID).

A responder in RFID is roughly classified into an active tag in which an electricity storage device such as a battery is mounted and a passive tag not having an electricity storage device.
As for the active tag, there exist some capable of constructing a highly functional application such as a sufficient communication distance and mounting a processor or the like. However, it goes without saying that these applications consume power storage devices such as batteries, speed up the replacement cycle, and impose great costs on the user in terms of maintenance.

On the other hand, a passive tag does not have a permanent electricity storage device, and therefore the communication distance does not reach the active tag. Moreover, the disadvantage of the communication distance is covered by increasing the transmission output on the device side called a reader such as an interrogator and the number of interrogators installed. That is, it is a well-known fact that these two types of tags have a problem with securing power.

As described above, in the current RFID system, when an active tag is used, battery replacement and use of a secondary battery are troublesome for charging, and the purchase cost of a primary battery becomes a problem.
In passive tags, there are an increase in the number of interrogators installed and the problem of communication distance.
The present invention solves these problems.

A charging function for a temporary power supply unit such as a capacitor mounted on the responder is provided.

Further, the present invention is characterized in that a door with a switch sensor for preventing radio wave radiation and a function of controlling radio wave power feeding according to the state of the switch sensor are provided.

Further, the present invention is characterized in that a mechanism on the slope for securing the time required for electric wave power feeding and a mechanical structure for guiding to the mechanism are provided.

By mounting a power storage function such as a capacitor on the responder, the communication distance of the responder can be dramatically improved.

Further, the cost for battery replacement can be eliminated, and the work time for battery replacement work and charging work can be greatly improved. This is because charging is already completed when the responder is recovered from the charging box.

The transponder needs to be provided with a capacitor such as an electric twentieth layer capacitor instead of the battery. However, this means a functionally relatively high capacity power storage and is not necessarily limited. In addition, the responder needs to be equipped with a mechanism for feeding electric waves and a receiving antenna for feeding electric waves.

Hereinafter, an embodiment of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the drawings.

1 and 2 are perspective views of the charging box of the present invention.
The charging box 1 includes a user door 3 and a recovery door 7 facing the user door 3. The used ID tag is posted from the user door 3, charged in the charging box 1, and the charged ID tag is collected from the collection door 7.

FIG. 3 is a side sectional view of the present invention. Since only the above-mentioned capacitor will eventually discharge, this problem is solved by using the charging box 1 and the charging function in the charging box 1. The charging box 1 has a user door 3 with a sensor, and returns a used responder by posting it here. At this time, charging of the posted responder is started using the user opening / closing sensor 4 for detecting opening / closing of the user door 3 or other means capable of detecting opening / closing. In addition, the guidance plate 2 is provided at the tip of the user door 3 and it is added that the responder is guided to the charging slope 5.

For the charging slope 5, for example, the responder is charged using a frequency band such as 13.56 MHz band. The charged transponder falls from the charging slope and accumulates at the bottom of the charging box.

When the responder is continuously posted, it is detected that the user opening / closing sensor 4 is opened, and charging is temporarily stopped. This is to take into account the effects on the human body. When the closed state of the user door 3 is detected, charging is resumed.

The reason why the 13,56 MHz band using electromagnetic wave coupling is taken as an example is that it is easy to cope with the overlapping of the responders in such a case, and it is not possible to perform sufficient charging by continuous posting. This is because the transponder dropped to the lower part of the charging box 1 can be charged. For this reason, it is desirable that the charging radio wave radiation device (charging circuit 8) is attached to the back surface of the charging slope 5.

A collection door open / close sensor 6 is also mounted on the collection door 7 to take into account the influence of radio waves during collection. In addition, the inner wall in the charging box 1 may be shielded to cope with unnecessary electromagnetic radiation. In addition, for continuous posting, it is conceivable to make the charging slope a multi-layer structure other than power supply after dropping.
