Abstract
Description
【0001】

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a data inflow control from a control station to a base station in a mobile communication system, in particular, a data inflow control method, a base station, and a control station in a mobile communication system in which a transmission rate of a radio section varies with time. About.
[0002]
[Prior art]
In a packet communication method used in a mobile communication system such as a mobile phone that is currently popularized, a plurality of mobile stations share a predetermined wireless transmission band, and thus radio resources that each mobile station can use, that is, wireless The transmission rate of the section varies with time depending on the number of mobile stations sharing the wireless transmission band and the amount of data transmitted to the mobile station.
[0003]
Therefore, based on the amount of data addressed to the mobile station staying in the buffer provided in the base station, the amount of data addressed to the mobile station flowing into the base station from the control station, that is, the data transmission rate of the control station is determined. A control method has been proposed (for example, Patent Document 1).
[0004]
[Patent Document 1]
JP 2002-079787 (page 5-7, FIG. 8)
[0005]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
By the way, in the mobile communication system described above, it is possible to dynamically change the transmission rate of the radio section according to the radio communication state in the mobile station, such as HSDPA (High Speed Downlink Packet Access) and HDR (High Data Rate). There has been provided or developed a best-efot type high-speed packet communication system that uses adaptive modulation and coding.
[0006]
However, in a mobile communication system using such a high-speed packet communication method, the fluctuation range of the transmission rate in the wireless section is very wide, from several kbps to several Mbps, and therefore, addressed to the mobile station staying in the base station buffer. In the method of controlling the data transmission rate of the control station based on the amount of data, there is a problem that efficient control is difficult.
[0007]
Specifically, when a data amount that is optimal when the transmission rate of the wireless section is 10 kbps is set as the buffer threshold of the base station, if the transmission rate of the wireless section increases to 1 Mbps, the control station Prior to changing the transmission rate, there is a problem that the buffer underflow tends to occur and the use efficiency of the radio transmission band is lowered.
[0008]
On the other hand, when the optimal data amount is set as the buffer threshold when the transmission rate in the wireless section is 1 Mbps, the control station changes the data transmission rate when the transmission rate in the wireless section drops to 10 kbps. Previously, an overflow of the buffer is likely to occur, and when the overflow occurs, the discarded data is retransmitted, which causes a problem that transmission efficiency as a mobile communication system is lowered.
[0009]
Further, in order to suppress a decrease in transmission efficiency as a mobile communication system, in addition to the communication state of the wireless section described above, the control station according to the wired section, that is, the communication state between the control station and the base station It is conceivable to control the data transmission rate.
[0010]
However, in the mobile communication system described above, a “subscriber line extended call control method” is used, which may occur when a control station and a base station are connected via a plurality of wired links including a switching device or the like. Therefore, the base station and the control station monitor the communication status of each wired link, which changes every moment, and appropriately control the data transmission rate of the control station according to the monitoring result. In view of the need for control that also follows the transmission rate of a wireless section that varies with time, there is a problem that it is difficult in practice.
[0011]
Therefore, the present invention has been made to solve the above-described problems. In a mobile communication system in which the transmission rate of a wireless section varies with time, the efficiency of use of a wireless transmission band is improved, and It is an object of the present invention to provide a data inflow control method, a base station, and a control station that can suppress a decrease in transmission efficiency of the system due to retransmission or the like.
[0012]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In order to solve the above-described problems, the present invention has the following features. First, a first feature of the present invention is that a control station that relays data addressed to a mobile station, a base station that temporarily stores the data sent from the control station in a buffer and sends the data to the mobile station, A method for controlling the amount of data flowing into the base station used in the above, based on the transmission rate of the radio link between the base station and the mobile station, and the amount of the data remaining in the buffer, A step of determining a buffer retention scheduled time in which the data stays in the buffer before the data is transmitted to the mobile station, and a transmission amount of the data transmitted from the control station based on the determined buffer retention scheduled time And a step of controlling.
[0013]
According to a second aspect of the present invention, there is provided a base station that temporarily stores the data transmitted from a control station that relays data addressed to a mobile station in a buffer and transmits the data to the mobile station. Based on the transmission rate of the wireless link and the amount of the data remaining in the buffer, the buffer retention for determining the buffer retention scheduled time in which the data is retained before the data is sent to the mobile station The gist of the invention is that a scheduled time determination unit is provided, and the transmission amount of the data transmitted from the control station is controlled based on the determined buffer retention scheduled time.
[0014]
According to a third aspect of the present invention, in the second aspect of the present invention, the transmission amount control information for controlling the transmission amount of the data transmitted from the control station is based on the determined buffer retention time determined in the second feature of the present invention. The gist of the present invention is to further include a notification unit that notifies the control station.
[0015]
According to such a feature, the mobile station that is transmitted from the control station based on the buffer retention scheduled time that the data staying in the buffer of the base station stays in the buffer until it is sent to the mobile station via the wireless section. In a mobile communication system in which a high-speed packet communication method such as HSDPA in which the transmission rate of the wireless section varies greatly because the transmission amount of the addressed data, that is, the data transmission rate of the control station is controlled, The occurrence of overflow or underflow of the station buffer can be suppressed. That is, according to this feature, it is possible to improve the use efficiency of the radio transmission band and to suppress the system transmission efficiency from being lowered due to data retransmission or the like.
[0016]
In particular, in a situation where the transmission rate of the radio section increases and the amount of data staying in the buffer decreases, the base station increases the data transmission rate of the control station before the buffer underflow occurs. Can be controlled.
[0017]
For example, when 1 second is required for the control accompanying the change of the data transmission rate of the control station, the base station increases the data transmission rate of the control station when the buffer retention time of the data reaches 3 seconds. If controlled, it can be controlled not to cause an underflow of the buffer.
[0018]
A fourth feature of the present invention is the data processing device according to the third feature of the present invention, further comprising a data loss detection unit that detects the loss of data, wherein the notification unit includes the estimated buffer residence time and the detected data. The gist is to notify the control information of the transmission amount control information based on the lack.
[0019]
According to such a feature, when the base station detects that the data addressed to the mobile station is lost due to the deterioration of the communication state of the wired section due to the occurrence of congestion, even if the transmission rate of the wireless section is high, Since the base station performs control so as to lower the data transmission rate of the control station, it is avoided that data destined for the mobile station is continuously lost, and transmission efficiency as a mobile communication system is improved by retransmission of the lost data. It can suppress that it falls.
[0020]
Furthermore, according to such a feature, since the data transmission rate of the control station is controlled based on the lack of data addressed to the mobile station detected in the base station, the control station and the base station via a plurality of wired links Even in a mobile communication system using the “subscriber line extended call control method” in which there is a possibility of being connected, it is possible to control a wired section, that is, a base station, without monitoring the communication state of each wired link. An appropriate data transmission rate of the control station can be set according to the communication state with the station.
[0021]
According to a fifth feature of the present invention, in the third feature of the present invention, the notification unit sends the sending amount control information to the control station based on the buffer retention scheduled time and a predetermined maximum data sending amount. It is a summary to notify.
[0022]
According to a sixth aspect of the present invention, the notification unit sends the transmission amount control information to the control station based on the buffer retention scheduled time, the detected lack of data, and a predetermined maximum data transmission amount. The gist is to notify.
[0023]
According to this feature, since the data transmission rate of the control station is controlled based on a predetermined maximum data transmission amount in addition to the communication state of the wireless section and the wired section described above, for example, physical transmission of a wired link The data transmission rate of the control station can be controlled in consideration of the bandwidth limitation, the processing capability of the mobile station, or the transmission rate limitation depending on the service to which the mobile station subscribes.
[0024]
Further, instead of the base station according to the second to sixth features of the present invention described above, the control station determines the transmission amount of data addressed to the mobile station based on the information acquired from the base station, that is, the data transmission rate. It can also be determined.
[0025]
That is, the seventh feature of the present invention is a control station that temporarily stores data addressed to a mobile station in a buffer and relays the data to a base station that transmits the data to the mobile station. Based on the transmission rate of the radio link and the amount of the data remaining in the buffer, the buffer retention scheduled time indicating the buffer retention scheduled time in which the data is retained in the buffer before being sent to the mobile station The gist is provided with an information acquisition unit that acquires information from the base station, and a data transmission amount control unit that controls the transmission amount of the data based on the acquired buffer retention scheduled time information.
[0026]
An eighth feature of the present invention is that, in the seventh feature of the present invention, the information acquisition unit sends data missing information indicating that the missing data transmitted to the base station is detected from the base station. Further, the data transmission amount control unit obtains the data and controls the data transmission amount based on the buffer retention scheduled time information and the data missing information.
[0027]
According to a ninth aspect of the present invention, in the seventh aspect of the present invention, the data transmission amount control unit is configured to send the data transmission amount based on the buffer retention scheduled time information and a predetermined maximum data transmission amount. The gist is to control.
[0028]
According to a tenth aspect of the present invention, in the eighth aspect of the present invention, the data transmission amount control unit is based on the buffer retention scheduled time information, the data missing information, and a predetermined maximum data transmission amount. The gist is to control the transmission amount of the data.
