【0003】
なお、携帯電話は通信端末装置の一例であって、PDA(Personal Digital Assistance)等のほかの装置に本発明を適用しても良い。
【0008】
画像種類設定画面73において、JPEG、PNG(Portable Network Graphics)、BMP(Bit MaP)等の画像フォーマット群75を表示する。
画像サイズ設定画面80には、QVGA(Quarter VGA:240×320ドット)、QCIF(Quarter Common Intermediate Format:144×176ドット)等の画像サイズ群78を表示する。

[0020]
Before performing the standard setting, a display such as "Do you want to perform the carrier standard setting? YES / NO" may be displayed, and the setting may be performed only when the confirmation of the user is obtained. Thereby, it is possible to prevent the setting from being performed against the user's intention. When the user answers “NO”, the setting items are displayed in a list, and the items selected by the user are set according to the user input. The setting method of each item will be described later. On the other hand, for the items not selected, the carrier standard is set. As a result, the user can set only necessary items according to his / her preference.
[0021]
Note that the communication carrier may be automatically determined from the mail address, and the communication carrier setting request to the user may be omitted. Thereby, the user's trouble can be saved, and the usability can be improved. Further, the standard setting corresponding to the model may be performed even when the user inputs the model name of the mobile phone without being limited to the communication carrier.
[0022]
Next, a method for setting each item will be described. When the image type setting 66 is selected on the attachment
[0023]
If the user selects the carrier standard setting 74, a communication carrier input request screen is displayed, and the standard setting corresponding to the carrier input by the user is performed. Alternatively, the standard setting of the carrier corresponding to the address may be automatically performed. According to this, even when the user does not know which image format to select, it is possible to select a format corresponding to the carrier. If the user selects "do not set" 76, the image format is not converted. Thereby, it is possible to prevent the image format from being converted against the user's intention.

FIG. 3 is a flowchart showing mail transmission of the mobile phone according to the first embodiment. When mail transmission is instructed, mail transmission processing is started. First, it is determined whether an image file is attached (S101). If the image file is not attached, the mail is transmitted as it is (S112). If an image file is attached, the information of the attached image file is acquired (S102), and the attachment conversion presence / absence setting 62 confirms "Yes" / "No" (S103). If the attachment conversion presence / absence setting 62 is "none", the mail is sent as it is (S112).
[0030]
If the attachment conversion presence / absence setting 62 is “present”, various information set in the attachment conversion setting 63 is acquired (S104). Next, the image format of the attached image file is compared with the image format set on the image
[0031]
In S106, the image size (the number of dots) of the attached image file is compared with the image size set on the image
[0032]
Next, the file size of the attached image file is compared with the file size limit set on the attached file size setting screen 82 (S109). If the size of the attached image file is larger, a message is displayed asking the user whether or not to increase the compression ratio of the image file, and whether or not to change the compression ratio of the image file is determined based on the input result of the user. A determination is made (S110). If it is determined that the image file may be compressed (Yes in S110), the compression ratio of the image file is changed (S113). With JPEG or the like, which is an image file format that has been irreversibly compressed, the image file size can be reduced by lowering the image quality. In S113, the image file is regenerated by increasing the compression ratio without changing the image type. After the compression processing, a mail with the image file attached is transmitted (S112).
[0033]
On the other hand, when it is determined that the compression ratio of the image file is not changed (No in S110), it is determined whether to reduce the image file size by reducing the image size of the attached image file (S111). If the image size is to be reduced (Yes in S111), a reduction process or a cutout process is performed so that the image size becomes equal to or less than the limit value set on the attached file size setting screen 82 (S114).
[0034]
If the image size is not to be reduced (No in S111), the e-mail is transmitted with the image file attached without performing the processing (S112). In addition, since the file size of the attached image file exceeds the limit value, a warning display indicating that the receiving terminal may not be able to receive or display the image file is performed, and the user is asked whether to transmit the image file without processing. After confirmation, transmission may be performed. Further, together with the warning display, an inquiry may be made again as to whether or not to change the compression ratio or the number of pixels of the image file. If the user selects the change, the image processing may be performed in S113 or S114. Thereby, it is possible to inform the user of the possibility of the reception failure and to prompt the image processing.
[0035]
In the present embodiment, when the file size of the attached image file is larger than the set value, the user is allowed to select whether to reduce the file size or to reduce the size. This saves the user from having to select each time. If the image file cannot be compressed, or if the user has registered that the image cannot be compressed, S110 may be omitted and the process may proceed to S111.
[0036]
With reference to FIG. 4, a case where a mail with a file attached is transmitted from the mobile phone A to the mobile phone B and the mobile phone C will be described. In the present embodiment, it is assumed that the display area size of the
[0037]
When the user of the mobile phone A instructs to send a mail with a screen size of 220 × 176 and an image file of the image format JPEG attached, the mobile phone A automatically converts the image file in the data conversion unit according to the attachment setting. After the conversion, e-mail is sent to the mobile phones B and C. Specifically, the image size of the image file transmitted to the mobile phone B is converted from 220 × 176 to 160 × 120, and the image format of the image file transmitted to the mobile phone C is converted from JPEG to a PNG format file.
[0038]
As described above, in the present embodiment, the attachment settings such as the image file format and the image size are stored in association with the mail address in the address book, and the image file is automatically converted according to the stored attachment settings. Therefore, it is not necessary to give a conversion instruction each time an image file is transmitted, and the usability can be improved. Further, in this embodiment, when performing the attachment setting, the carrier standard setting can be performed by inputting the communication carrier and the mail address, so that the trouble of registering all the items one by one can be omitted.
[0039]
Next, a second embodiment will be described with reference to FIGS. In the present embodiment, the setting of the address book profile including the attachment conversion setting is performed using the mail. The configuration of the mobile phone in the present embodiment is the same as the configuration of the mobile phone shown in FIG.
[0040]
FIG. 5 shows an example of a mail used for setting an address book profile in the present embodiment. In FIG. 5,

5 and 6 are examples, and the present invention is not limited to these. For example, the telephone number information may be omitted, or other information such as an address may be added.
[0046]
FIG. 7 is a flowchart showing a registration method using an e-mail for registering an address book profile. When an e-mail is received by the mobile phone, the e-mail title is obtained (S220), and it is checked whether the e-mail title is a specific title such as "*** attachment setting ***". Is determined (S221). If it is determined that the mail is not the profile setting mail, the receiving process is performed as a normal mail (S231).
[0047]
If it is determined that the mail is a profile setting mail, information used for managing the profile such as a name, a telephone number, and a mail address is acquired from the mail text (S222). Then, a search is performed from the information such as the name, telephone number, and mail address in the mail text to determine whether the profile to be registered is already registered in the address book (S223). If it is determined that the profile is already registered, a message is displayed asking the user whether or not to overwrite the profile. If the overwrite registration is instructed (Yes in S224), the mail text information is obtained (S226). ). On the other hand, when the overwrite rejection is instructed (S224 No), the user is made to select whether or not to newly register (S225). When newly registering, the process proceeds to S226, and when not newly registering, the process proceeds to S231.
[0048]
After acquiring the text information for each line in S226, it is determined whether or not the acquired text information is a combination of a valid profile setting
[0049]
As described above, in the present embodiment, it is possible to easily add and modify the profile of the address book by transmitting and receiving the mail in which the profile information is described. In the present embodiment, the description has been made on the assumption that the user inputs the mail text using an input unit such as a key. However, the profile information is stored in the storage unit in advance, and the user instructs the transmission of the profile information. Then, the text may be read from the storage unit and the text may be automatically created. The user can save time and effort in creating the mail body, thereby improving usability.
[0050]
Further, in the present embodiment, an example in which the profile is described in the text in the text is shown. However, the profile may be described in the attached file, and may be described in the binary format or another format instead of the text format. No problem.
[0051]
Next, a third embodiment will be described with reference to FIGS. In the present embodiment, profile information is registered using the short-range communication unit.
[0052]
FIG. 8 shows a mobile phone according to the third embodiment in FIG. The same parts as those of the mobile phone shown in FIG. 1 are denoted by the same reference numerals, and redundant description will be omitted. The mobile phone according to the present embodiment includes the short-
