Abstract
Description
【0001】
なお、プロファイルは、テキストファイルで与える必要はなく、CGI(Common Gateway Interface)などを利用したGUI(Graphical User Interface)上からの登録も可能である。
【0116】
ここでは“manual1.txt ,manual2.txt ,manual3.txt ,manual4.txt ”となる。
【0224】
このとき、前回通知分のアノテーションID(更新ボタン120の押下がなかったので保持されていたもの)もアノテーション処理装置218に送信する。
このとき、前回通知分のアノテーションID(更新ボタン120の押下がなかったので保持されていたもの)もアノテーション処理装置218に送信する。
【0247】

The present invention provides an information display processing method and an information display processing system used in a system having a function of displaying a document on a display device, and an information display processing method and an information display processing system using a computer. About the program. Further, the present invention relates to a client terminal and a management server which constitute the information display processing system. More specifically, the present invention relates to a technology that enables an electronic document and an electronic tag attached to the electronic document to be shared and browsed.
[0002]
[Prior art]
When a person reads a document, it is natural to use a writing instrument such as a pen or a marker while giving a memo or an annotation while reading the document. The location where the notes and annotations are given is likely to be of some interest to the reader.
[0003]
The same happens when dealing with electronic documents. For example, visualization information (electronic sticky notes), such as memos, messages, or annotations, added to the body of the electronic document is attached as additional data to the body of the electronic document so as not to affect the body of the electronic document. Technology is widely used.
[0004]
For example, in an electronic conference system in which a plurality of users can join a conference via a terminal screen by connecting a plurality of terminal devices via a communication network, a document can be shared between participants (shared browsing possible; Various techniques have been proposed for making the information accessible (for example, see Patent Document 1).
[0005]
[Patent Document 1]
JP-A-7-84905
[0006]
Here, the addition of an electronic tag such as an annotation to a document displayed on the terminal screen is also performed by the electronic conference system. For example, electronic sticky notes such as memos and annotations can be input to a document (digitized material) displayed on a terminal screen by using a pen-type pointing device or by handwriting input by directly touching the touch panel with a fingertip. May be written on the display screen.
[0007]
According to the function of the electronic sticky note, the participant of the conference can independently add and correct from each terminal, and can easily input additional information without hindering his / her thinking. This handwritten information can also be displayed on the terminal screen of another participant. As a result, it is possible to input an opinion or idea from each terminal device or take a hard copy thereof. That is, by digitizing a document or using a network, it is possible to share annotations (underline, marking, writing of characters, and the like) given to a document displayed electronically.
[0008]
In addition, using the state of an electronic tag such as an annotation attached to a part of a certain document as a query (search condition), an electronic tag of a document already attached at the same position can be reproduced as a search result. It is considered that the position where the electronic sticky note is attached is a position of some interest to the reader. By reproducing an electronic sticky note previously given by another person or oneself, a position of interest given by another person or oneself can be known.
[0009]
If you know which person has what characteristics, annotation of a specific person is meaningful, but if an unspecified number of people share documents and annotations, annotation of unknown people Does not make much sense.

[Problems to be solved by the invention]
On the other hand, some handwritten annotations and other electronic sticky notes need to be disclosed personally or only within a predetermined group, and may not be disclosed to an unspecified number of people. However, the method described in

On the other hand, if both the document and the electronic sticky note can be shared and viewed, the reader must always read and reproduce the electronic sticky note in order to check the information on the electronic sticky note that has been added or changed by another person. There must be. Such an operation is troublesome.
[0021]
Even if the reading / reproducing procedure is performed, the operation is useless in a case where a new electronic sticky note has not been added or changed between the previous and current procedures.
[0022]
As described above, the conventional technology of displaying the additional information such as the electronic tag attached to the document body cannot always meet the request of the display form desired by each viewer.
[0023]
The present invention has been made in view of the above circumstances, and when displaying additional information added to a document such as an annotation, information that can flexibly respond to a request for a display format desired by each viewer. It is an object to provide a display processing method and system.
[0024]
Specifically, a first object is to provide an information display processing method and system capable of setting disclosure / non-disclosure of additional information (electronic tag) added to a document.
[0025]
Further, in a case where both a document and an electronic sticky note can be simultaneously shared, an information display processing method and a method that can reduce the complexity of operation for confirming information of an electronic sticky note that has been added or changed by another person are provided. A second object is to provide a system.
[0026]
Another object of the present invention is to provide a management server and a client terminal that constitute the information display processing system. Another object of the present invention is to provide a program for realizing the above method and system using a computer.
[0027]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
That is, a first information display processing method according to the present invention is an information display processing method having a function of adding, to a document displayed on a predetermined display device, additional information that can be managed separately from the document. A public attribute indicating whether display of additional information is permitted is managed in a database in association with the additional information, and when a display request for additional information is requested, the public attribute set in the additional information is Based on this, the display of the additional information requested to be displayed is controlled.
[0028]
A first information display processing system according to the present invention is a system that implements the first information display processing method according to the present invention, and provides additional information to a document displayed on a predetermined display device. Part, an additional information addition part detection unit that obtains information of an additional information addition part to which additional information is added by the additional information addition unit in the document, and information of the additional information addition part obtained by the additional information addition part detection unit A registration unit for registering a document and a public attribute indicating whether display of additional information is permitted in association with the document, and a request for display based on the public attribute set in the additional information registered in the registration unit. And a display control unit for controlling the display of the additional information.
[0029]
Further, a second information display processing method according to the present invention is an information display processing method having a function of adding, to a document displayed on a predetermined display device, additional information that can be managed separately from the document. When the additional information is received from one viewer, the document to which the additional information has been added or changed is immediately presented to the other viewers who share and browse the document.
[0030]
Alternatively, in the second information display processing method according to the present invention, the fact that the additional information has been added to the document or the state of the already added additional information (attributes such as a location, a color, and a line type) is changed. This may be notified to other viewers who share and view the document to which the additional information has been added or changed.
[0031]
A second information display processing system according to the present invention is a system for implementing the second information display processing method according to the present invention, and adds or displays additional information to a document displayed on a predetermined display device. An additional information adding unit that changes the state of the additional information that has been added, and a notification that the additional information has been added to the document or that the state of the already added additional information has been changed. An update information reporting control unit is provided for notifying other readers who share and browse the changed document.
[0032]
The client terminal and the management server according to the present invention constitute the information display processing system according to the present invention. Further, the invention described in the dependent claims defines a further advantageous specific example of the information display processing system or the client terminal or the management server according to the present invention.
[0033]
Furthermore, the program according to the present invention is suitable for realizing the information display processing method and the information display processing system according to the present invention by software using an electronic computer (computer). The program may be provided by being stored in a computer-readable storage medium, or may be distributed via a wired or wireless communication unit.
[0034]

BEST MODE FOR CARRYING OUT THE INVENTION
Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the drawings.
[0037]
FIG. 1 is a diagram showing a configuration example of an electronic conference system to which a display control method and an information display processing system according to the present invention are applied.
[0038]
As the scene setting of the electronic conference in this example, an electronic document-based meeting such as a development start proposal and an international technical standardization meeting is assumed.
[0039]
As electronic documents, for example, in the case of a proposal to start development, similar documents such as specifications related to the predecessor (previous models for the target model such as the current model), market trouble reports, technical standard documents of the support department, etc. There are many. In a technical standardization meeting, related documents such as a similar technical standard book and a mailing list for the same technology exist around the document.
[0040]
Participants in the electronic conferencing system may be, for example, participants, chairpersons, recorders, etc., which are representatives of organizations that influence decisions or are affected by decisions.
[0041]
In the electronic conference system, for example, one of the representatives puts together a proposal and distributes materials in advance. Then, before the meeting, the participants and the chair can read the material and add handwritten annotations on the display screen. Also, while the meeting is in progress, the organization's representatives can share the context with the stakeholders in the back office using annotations, and can coordinate departmental views in real time while communicating with each other.
[0042]
Here, in the flow of the conference in the electronic conference system, for example, the following can be considered as a scene involving sharing of handwritten annotation.
* Read distributed materials before the meeting and write annotations.
* Annotate while listening to the explanation.
* In a Q & A session, quickly search for questions and respond to questions based on annotations.
* Search past related documents.
* Ask your colleagues during the meeting.
* Discussion sessions.
* Adoption and opinion gathering sessions.
* Confirmation session.
* Minutes preparation.
* Report the meeting to members of the group.
* Discover professionals through meetings and discover diverse perspectives.

As the annotation ID, a unique ID number is assigned to each annotation of one stroke. The terminal ID is an ID number that uniquely identifies a client. It may directly indicate the hardware of the client terminal used by the user, or may correspond to an IP (Internet Protocol) address or host name. As the document ID, a unique ID is assigned to each document stored in the
[0094]
The rectangle information of the annotation is the rectangle number of the rectangular area indicated by the one-stroke annotation. In the case of a straight line extending in the horizontal direction, there may be continuous integer values. However, when a rectangle, a circle, or the like is drawn over a plurality of lines, the values become discontinuous integer values. Note that the rectangular information of the annotation will be described in detail in “Annotation addition processing” described later.
[0095]
The annotation content is the trajectory information of the one-stroke annotation, and is data used to reproduce the drawn annotation. For example, it is data such as a bitmap or vector data. The color shape is the color of the ink used for the annotation and shape information such as a circle or a square. The line type indicates a line type such as the thickness of the annotation, a solid line, or a dotted line.

For specific disclosure (= Frd) and authentication disclosure (= Protect), sub-attributes such as a user or a group or an authentication code (user name and password) can be set. In the case of specific disclosure (= Frd) and authentication disclosure (= Protect), a sub-attribute of a full access setting that permits not only disclosure only for display (read only) but also editing by others can be set. Needless to say, shared browsing of documents and annotations is usually disclosed as read-only. This is to prevent inconvenience caused by allowing anyone to freely edit. However, in a meeting place or the like, it may be more convenient to be able to edit freely. In such a case, full access settings may be made.
[0098]
The user can set these public attributes for each of the annotations to be given. This public attribute can be set each time an annotation is given or each time an instruction to save an annotation is issued. Alternatively, one of them may be set as a default in advance, and if there is no special change instruction, the default attribute may be set. If there is no instruction to change the public attribute when saving the annotation, the attribute set at that time (including the default) is accepted.

It is possible to specify to which page the annotation is given by the rectangle number. An independent rectangle number may be assigned to each page, and the page number and the rectangle number of each page may be used to specify which page the annotation is assigned to.

You may start with one document and then need to know the details of one part of the document, and display another document. There is a place in the other document that needs information of another document, and another document may be opened. In this way, consider a scene in which an important part is annotated one after another.
[0149]
In this system, annotations (such as underlines, markings, and writing of characters) given to electronically displayed documents can be shared. Further, it is also possible to reproduce, as a search result, an annotation of a document already provided at the same position as a query, using a state of the annotation provided to a part of a certain document as a query. The position where the annotation is given seems to be a position of some interest to the reader.
[0150]
Also, by reproducing the annotation given by another person or oneself before, the position of interest given by another person or oneself can be known. In addition, managing by the person who gave the annotation or the time when it was given, and by specifying a certain person, reproducing the annotation given by that person, or reproducing the annotation given at a certain time Can be. In other words, by designating a specific person and a specific time, only desired annotations can be reproduced.
[0151]
However, some annotations may be disclosed personally or only within a predetermined group, and may not be disclosed to an unspecified number of people. In order to solve such a problem, the electronic conference system 1 (information display processing system 7) of the present embodiment has a disclosure restriction function for giving a public attribute to an annotation and restricting the disclosure of the annotation.
[0152]
Further, in the case of a meeting or the like, when a plurality of people annotate the same document in the same time zone and try to share the annotation, a problem occurs in the conventional method. That is, if the user does not always perform the annotation reading / reproducing procedure, the location movement and the attribute (color / shape / line type) change (collective annotation annotation) for the “new” or existing annotation given by other users The modified "annotation" cannot be reproduced on the
[0153]
Further, even if the reading / reproducing procedure is performed, if the new annotation is not added between the previous procedure and the current procedure, or if the annotation is not changed, the operation becomes useless. Further, there may be a case where the annotation is added or changed after the previous update, but the browsing of the user who performed the operation is prohibited due to the setting of the public attribute. In this case as well, the reading / reproducing procedure is a useless operation as described above.
[0154]
In order to solve such a problem, the electronic conference system 1 (the information display processing system 7) according to the present embodiment, when a new annotation is added or a change of the annotation is made, notifies the fact at that time. Has a function of realizing efficient information sharing by automatically notifying a predetermined user who is referencing the target document (hereinafter referred to as an automatic update notification function).
[0155]
Hereinafter, an annotation release restriction function and an automatic update notification function, which are characteristic parts of the present embodiment, will be described in detail.

For example, all members, only meeting participants, only specific departments or groups, only specific individuals, and so on. Any combination other than “for all” can be registered. A plurality of departments, groups, and individuals can register.
[0165]
For example, since the same document can be used in different situations, during a meeting, a new annotation may be given by a user who has not participated in the meeting. In such a case, it is sufficient for the conference participating members to immediately know only the annotation update by the participating members of the same conference. In addition, in the case where only members of the same section or a transcript are exchanged with attendees, it is sufficient to be able to immediately know only updates by those members. On the other hand, during normal document browsing except in a meeting or the like, it is preferable to always know the latest information, and it is desirable to be able to immediately know the annotation update of all the members.
[0166]
In addition, the user updates the annotation display on condition that the

[0168]
On the other hand, in the case where the automatic display update mode is set, if the annotation target is frequently updated by the report target user, the display update is also frequent, and there may be a case where it is rather troublesome. In such a case, the manual display update mode may be set. Each time the user receives a notification that the annotation has been updated, the user can update the display at a desired timing. For example, an automatic display update mode is initially set, and when the automatic display update becomes troublesome, the mode can be switched to the manual display update mode, which is convenient.
[0169]
Further, it may be inconvenient if the screen is automatically updated while writing or editing the annotation. In this case, it is preferable to be in the manual display update mode. Normally, when the automatic display update mode is set, the user may set the manual display update mode each time for new writing or editing work, but this is not convenient. In such a case, when the additional
[0170]
In addition, when a free and vigorous discussion is held at a meeting, a case may occur in which a plurality of members add notes at almost the same position or edit the same annotation almost at the same time. In such a case, it is preferable to update the display in real time, so even if you are writing annotations or editing, you can automatically reflect the new addition or editing status of others on the screen. It is desirable to maintain the display update mode.
[0171]
For this reason, the notification

For example, for those which can be made public as they are (public attribute = all of Pub and corresponding users of Frd), the annotation content received from the
[0188]
In addition, another user ID (user name) or group can be designated as the public attribute. When the user ID is specified, the annotation in which the user specifies the attribute without restriction is reproduced. When a group name is specified, the annotation with the group attribute is reproduced. For example, at the time of the normal annotation search processing function, appropriate disclosure such as no restriction (= Pub) or specific disclosure (= set another user ID by Frd) is set to the disclosure attribute of the annotation given by the user indicated by the user ID. If the attribute is set, the annotation is reproduced for the user who made the search request. Also, if an appropriate public attribute such as no restriction (= Pub) or specific disclosure (= group ID is set in Frd) is set, the annotation is reproduced for the user having the group ID set in Frd. Is done.
[0189]
In addition, for an annotation for which “Protect” is set in the public attribute, the user who is browsing is first notified that there is such an annotation, and requests input of a password. When a password is input within a predetermined time and authentication is obtained by an authentication process with the

In an actual meeting, all participating members read a common document and write notes on the document, and talk with each other, or only within the same department sitting in a nearby seat. This is effective when realizing a case in which an electronic conference is performed. It is also effective when the logged-in user is different from the user who is browsing at that time.
[0191]
With this, regardless of whether it is the time of the normal search processing function or the time of the automatic update notification function, of the document that the user wants to view and the user who is browsing out of all the annotations already given at that time, Will be presented on the

Further, when displaying the annotation for realizing the automatic update notification function, it is preferable to highlight the new or changed annotation for a certain period (for example, about several seconds). This is to differentiate it from existing annotations. In this case, the purpose of the "highlighting" is not particularly limited as long as it has a sharp distinction from other portions and is capable of visually giving a difference. For example, the density of a new part or a part that is still present after the change may be increased to highlight the corresponding part for a certain period of time. Conversely, the density of the erased portion or the original portion whose location has been moved may be reduced so that the corresponding portion may be highlighted for a certain period of time. It is preferable to use the display

[0202]
In this way, by giving a public attribute to an annotation, it is possible to publish the annotation given by itself only to a specific viewer. Also, even for handwritten characters, the public attribute can be set for each stroke, and there is no need to create a structured file as in the invention described in Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2002-222185. No processing is required, and the processing is extremely simple.
[0203]
In the configuration of the above-described embodiment, when implementing the function of restricting the disclosure of the annotation, the disclosure attribute is registered by the designation of the user when the annotation is added and stored. However, when there are many annotations to be added or changed, the operation of registering the public attribute becomes troublesome.
[0204]
In such a case, the public attribute setting unit 600 is configured to automatically set the public attribute according to the attribute of the document viewer when additional information is given, changed, or stored. Good. For example, when logging in, a public attribute to be given to the annotation may be assigned in advance. Specifically, if the user is a login as a meeting participant, it is preferable to make settings so that the user can make a specific access (= Frd) and have full access. Of course, the setting of other public attributes may be automatically set according to the attributes of the viewer.
[0205]
Further, the public attribute setting unit 600 is configured so that a transparent or translucent sheet medium associated with the public attribute can be arranged on the display surface of the liquid

As described above, each time an annotation for one stroke is added or changed, or each time a command to save the annotation is issued, that fact is notified to other viewers (if the public attribute is set, only the disclosure target person). Since the notification is made, the user is released from the need to frequently perform the reading and reproducing procedures of the annotation, and can reduce the complexity of the operation.
[0253]
In addition, if the display update is automatically executed without waiting for the display update instruction, the user can always check the latest annotation status without performing any operation of annotation reading or reproduction procedure. can do. In addition, by using the procedure of the second example of notifying that the annotation has been updated in consideration of the public attribute, useless data transmission processing and button operation can be prevented.
[0254]
Note that the series of processes of the release restriction function and the automatic update notification function using the above-described annotation can be executed by hardware, but can also be executed by software. When a series of processing is executed by software, the programs that make up the software are executed by a computer (such as an embedded microcomputer) built into dedicated hardware, or by installing various programs to perform various functions. It is installed from a recording medium into a general-purpose personal computer that can be executed.

As described above, according to the present invention, when displaying additional information added to a document such as an annotation, each viewer can flexibly respond to a request for a display mode desired by each viewer.
[0276]
For example, since a public attribute is set and managed for an electronic sticky note such as an annotation, it is possible to set disclosure / non-disclosure of additional information (electronic sticky note) added to a document.
[0277]
In addition, when a new electronic sticky note is added or changed, the electronic sticky note is immediately distributed to other readers who share and browse the document to which the electronic sticky note is attached, or when the electronic sticky note is added or changed. Is automatically notified to other viewers, so that the complexity of the operation for confirming the information of the electronic sticky note added or changed by another person is reduced.
