Abstract
Description
【0001】

TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a camera.
[0002]
[Prior art]
2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, cameras such as digital still cameras and video cameras have a horizontally long shape (the length direction thereof is oriented horizontally when used) and a vertically long shape (the length direction is vertically oriented when used). ).
The horizontally long camera is formed so that the width in the left-right direction is larger than the height in the vertical direction, and the vertically long camera is formed so that the height in the vertical direction is larger than the width in the left and right method. .
In a horizontally long camera, it is difficult to hold the main body firmly when the right hand only grasps the side, which is one end in the length direction of the main body of the camera, and the posture of the camera tends to be unstable.
Then, even if the shutter button can be pressed by the right index finger in this state, camera shake easily occurs in the pressing direction. Therefore, in such a horizontally long camera, it is desirable to hold down the main body with both hands and press the shutter button with the right index finger in order to prevent camera shake.
Therefore, in the case of a horizontally long camera, it is necessary to use both hands when holding the camera, and such a posture is difficult to obtain, which is disadvantageous for easy shooting.
On the other hand, a vertically long camera is configured so that the shutter button can be pressed with the right index finger while holding the main body only with the right hand.
Therefore, since the shutter button can be operated while holding the camera with only the right hand, the posture can be reduced and the shooting can be easily performed as compared with the case where both hands are used.
In addition, as a video camera that does not need to take an unreasonable posture during shooting, a camera unit having a viewfinder, a lens, and the like is formed horizontally long, and a VTR unit is connected to a lower end of the camera unit so as to be inclined forward and downward. In addition, there has been proposed an apparatus having a vertically elongated shape as a whole (Patent Document 1, FIG. 1).
[0003]
[Patent Document 1]
JP-A-62-180681
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, the above-described conventional vertically long camera has the following disadvantages.
1) When the shutter button is pressed down while holding the camera body with the right hand, the camera body is liable to shake in the direction in which the shutter button is pressed, although this is less than when the horizontally long camera is held only with the right hand. .
2) Since the shutter button is pressed down with the right forefinger and the main body is held with the remaining fingers, the posture of the forefinger and the remaining fingers may easily become unreasonable. In particular, if fingers other than the index finger are positioned at positions on the main body on the extension of the direction in which the shutter button is pressed in order to prevent camera shake, it is necessary to forcibly bend these fingers and the finger is likely to be overloaded. .
3) When trying to position the camera in front of the face in order to view the viewfinder or LCD monitor of the vertically long camera, the right elbow and right shoulder must be positioned close to the camera's lengthwise extension. In addition, it is inevitable that a burden is applied to the arms and shoulders, although it is less than when the horizontally long camera is held with both hands.
4) Even in a video camera in which the above-mentioned VTR section is arranged so as to be inclined forward and downward, in order to position the video camera in front of the face of the video camera, the elbows and shoulders are brought closer to the extension of the video camera in the longitudinal direction. You have to be in a position and inevitably strain your arms and shoulders.
The present invention has been made in view of such circumstances, and aims to reduce the burden on the photographer's hands and shoulders when holding it with one hand and prevent camera shake when pressing the shutter button. It is to provide a camera which is advantageous in doing so.
[0005]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In order to achieve the above object, the present invention provides a case formed in an elongated shape having a width and a thickness and a length larger than the width and the thickness, and the case located in one of the thickness directions. A photographing lens provided on the front surface of the case, an image pickup element provided in the case, for detecting a subject image taken through the photographing lens and outputting an image pickup signal, and the case positioned at the other side in the thickness direction. A display panel that is provided facing the upper rear surface and displays an image of the subject image based on the imaging signal output from the imaging element. It is characterized in that it is configured to be inclined at a predetermined angle with respect to the length direction.
Therefore, when holding the case by hand with the rear surface of the case facing toward you and lifting your hand so that the display panel of the camera is almost at eye level, the camera case extends obliquely to the vertical direction. In the state where the screen vertical direction of the display panel extends in the vertical direction, the subject image is displayed on the display panel along the vertical direction of the screen in the vertical direction.

For example, in a horizontally long camera whose center of gravity is located at a position deviated from the center in the length direction to one side in the length direction, even if the camera has buoyancy close to neutral buoyancy, it acts on the center of gravity. Due to the gravitational force, the longitudinal direction of the camera is greatly inclined with respect to the horizontal direction. Therefore, when performing underwater photography with such a camera, once the camera is grasped by hand, the camera cannot be photographed in the same posture, so the posture of the camera should be such that the length direction of the camera is almost parallel to the horizontal direction. It has to be corrected and the operability is poor.

In the present embodiment, the case where the camera has a display panel has been described. However, the present invention is of course applicable to a camera having a finder instead of the display panel. In this case, the finder constitutes the display panel, and the screen vertical direction of the finder may be inclined at an angle θ1 with respect to the center line in the width direction, similarly to the above-described embodiment. As in the above-described embodiment, it is advantageous in reducing the burden on the hand and shoulder of the photographer when holding with one hand and preventing camera shake when pressing the shutter button.
