Abstract
Description
【0001】
現在、PDA(Personal Digital Assistance:個人用の携帯情報端末)と呼ばれる小型コンピュータが広く知られている。

TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a character input device capable of inputting a character selected by an operator on a display or the like and a method therefor.
[0002]
[Prior art and problems]
Currently, a small computer called a PDA (Personal Digital Assistance: personal digital assistant) is widely known. Such terminals often do not have a physical keyboard because they are portable. Therefore, when characters are input to the PDA, a handwritten character input method, a virtual keyboard method, or the like is adopted.
[0003]
Here, the virtual keyboard method is a method in which a virtual key corresponding to an input character is displayed on a screen, and a character is input by the operator instructing the virtual key with a pen tip or the like. The characters of the virtual keys are alphabets, kana characters, and the like, and can be displayed on the virtual keyboard in a JIS arrangement, a Japanese syllabary arrangement, or an arbitrary arrangement.
[0004]
However, in a PDA or the like employing such a virtual keyboard method, when displaying all virtual keys on the virtual keyboard, each virtual key must be displayed in a small size, so that it is difficult for the operator to find the virtual keys. WhatYou. For this reason, typographical errors are likely to occur,There was a problem that input efficiency deteriorated.
[0005]
In order to solve such a problem, a method of displaying only a part of the virtual keyboard on the display and scrolling the display of the virtual keyboard up, down, left, and right to display and select a desired virtual key is also conceivable. FIG. 9 shows an example of an input device employing the above method.

[0009]
Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. H11-272386 describes an information terminal device that prompts an operator to input by highlighting a key to be next input by inversion or enlargement on a virtual keyboard. This makes it easier to find a key to be input next to the operator, and improves input efficiency.
[0010]
However, when inputting a word or sentence at the beginning or when it is not possible to determine the key to be input next, the user must select from a list of virtual keys displayed small on the virtual keyboard. In this case, there remains a problem that it is difficult for the operator to find the virtual key on the virtual keyboard.
[0011]
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION The present invention has been made to solve the above-described problems, and makes it easy to find a virtual key to be input by an operator, and to reduce the movement of a line of sight in character input to efficiently input characters. It is an object of the present invention to provide a character input device and a method therefor.
[0012]
Means for Solving the Problems and Effects of the Invention
(1) (2) The character input device according to the present invention is a virtual keyboard output means for outputting a virtual keyboard on a display, and a first selection action performed by an operator on virtual keys constituting the virtual keyboard. A provisional determination unit that specifies a virtual key from the selected coordinate position and provisionally determines the character of the virtual key as an input candidate, and a character that is provisionally determined by the provisional determination unit is displayed in a predetermined frame on the display. Receiving the virtual key characters temporarily provisionally determined by the provisional determination means in response to a second selection operation performed in succession to the first selection operation. Determination means for determining when the coordinate position selected by the first selecting action moves, thereby changing the virtual key specified by the first selection action. The provisional confirmation of changing the character of the virtual key to an input candidate is performed, and the enlargement output unit enlarges the character of the virtual key for which the provisional confirmation unit has changed the provisional confirmation to the input candidate on the display. Output.
[0013]
Therefore, when the operator selects a character, the character of the virtual key is enlarged and displayed in a predetermined frame, so that the operator can easily confirm the character of the virtual key that has been temporarily determined.
[0014]
Further, since the character of the virtual key whose selection has been changed is enlarged in a predetermined frame, for example, the operator can select a character on the virtual keyboard while fixing his / her gaze in the predetermined frame. , Input efficiency can be improved.
[0015]
(3) The character input device according to the present invention is characterized in that the virtual keyboard display means simultaneously displays all virtual keys that can be input by the operator on the virtual keyboard.
[0016]
Therefore, the position of the selectable virtual key is always fixed, so that the operator can easily remember the position of the virtual key and easily get used to the input operation. Also, if the user becomes accustomed to the input operation, the input efficiency of the character is improved.
[0017]
(4) In the character input device according to the present invention, a program for realizing the character input device using a computer, or a recording medium storing the program, the virtual keyboard includes a kana character key for inputting a kana character. It is characterized by including.
[0018]
Therefore, the currently selected kana character is enlarged and displayed, so that a desired character can be easily found and the input efficiency can be improved.
[0019]
Further, for example, the number of times of key input can be reduced as compared with a so-called Roman character input in which a vowel key and a consonant key are input in combination, and input efficiency can be improved.
[0020]
(5) In the character input device according to the present invention, a program for realizing the character input device using a computer, or a recording medium on which the program is recorded, the kana character key includes a clear tone character and a muddy character related thereto. It is characterized in that a semi-sounding character or a small letter for a vowel, a consonant sound or a consonant sound is displayed in the vicinity.
[0021]
Therefore, since the related character is displayed near the clear tone character, the operator can easily find the desired kana character key, and the input efficiency can be improved.
[0022]
(6) In the character input device according to the present invention, or a program for realizing the character input device using a computer or a recording medium on which the program is recorded, the kana character key includes a kiyon character and a muddy character related thereto. It is characterized in that semi-sounding characters or lowercase letters for vowels, vocal sounds, or murmurs are grouped and displayed.
[0023]
Therefore, since characters related to the character group are displayed in a state of being grouped with the clear tone character, the operator can easily find a desired kana character key, and input efficiency can be improved.
[0024]
(7) In the character input device according to the present invention, or a program for realizing the character input device using a computer or a recording medium on which the program is recorded, the kana character key includes a clear character and a muddy character related thereto. It is characterized in that semi-sounding characters or lowercase letters for vowels, vocal sounds, or murmurs are displayed in different colors.
[0025]
Therefore, it is easy to distinguish each character type on the virtual keyboard, it is easy for the operator to find a desired kana character key, and the input efficiency can be improved.
[0026]
(8) In the character input device according to the present invention or a program for realizing the character input device using a computer or a recording medium on which the program is recorded, the display is a touch screen, and the first selecting action is: It is characterized in that it is an act of bringing a virtual key on a virtual keyboard displayed on a touch screen into contact with the virtual key.
[0027]
Therefore, a display screen for displaying a virtual keyboard and a selection screen for selecting a virtual key can be arranged on the same screen, so that operability is improved and input efficiency can be improved.
[0028]
In addition, since the virtual key at the position touched by the pen tip or the like is enlarged and displayed on the touch screen, it is easy to confirm the character being selected.
[0029]
(9) In the character input device according to the present invention or a program for realizing the character input device using a computer or a recording medium on which the program is recorded, the second selecting action is a virtual selection displayed on a touch screen. It is characterized in that it is an act of bringing the keyboard out of contact.
[0030]
Therefore, the operator can easily make the character being selected the final input, and the input efficiency is improved.
[0031]
For example, after a pen tip or the like is brought into contact with a virtual keyboard, the pen tip is slid to a desired virtual key position while keeping the contact state, and the pen tip is separated from the virtual keyboard at that position (to make no contact). Thus, character input can be performed.
[0032]
(10) A character input device according to the present invention, or a program for realizing the character input device using a computer, or a recording medium on which the program is recorded, includes a cursor operating means for operating a cursor on a display. The first selecting action is characterized in that the cursor operated by the cursor operating means holds the virtual key on the virtual keyboard in a pressed state.
[0033]
Therefore, a display screen for displaying a virtual keyboard and a selection screen for selecting a virtual key can be arranged on the same screen, so that operability is improved and input efficiency can be improved.
[0034]
In addition, since the virtual key pressed by the cursor is enlarged and displayed on the virtual keyboard, it is easy to confirm the character being selected. For example, when a mouse is used, the virtual key being selected can be enlarged and displayed by moving the cursor while keeping the mouse button pressed on the virtual keyboard.
[0035]
(11) In the character input device according to the present invention or a program for realizing the character input device using a computer or a recording medium on which the program is recorded, the second selecting action is a cursor operated by a cursor operating means. Is an act of making a virtual key on the virtual keyboard not to be pressed.
[0036]
Therefore, the operator can easily make the character being selected the final input, and the input efficiency is improved.
[0037]
For example, when a mouse is used, character input is performed by moving the cursor while holding down the mouse button on the virtual keyboard so that the virtual key being selected is enlarged and the mouse button is not pressed at that position. It can be performed.
[0038]
(12) In the character input method according to the present invention, a virtual keyboard on which virtual keys for one screen set in advance are arranged is displayed in the first display area of the display, and the pointing position of the pointing device is set to the first position. When located in the display area of any one of the virtual keys in the display area 1, the character assigned to that virtual key is displayed in the second area of the display in a provisionally selected state, and the pointing position of the pointing device is changed. When the virtual key is located within a display area of a virtual key different from the tentatively selected virtual key, a character displayed in a second area of the display is changed to a character assigned to the virtual key, and the pointing device When a decision instruction is given at the designated position, the character displayed in the second area is specified as an input character.
[0039]
Therefore, when the operator changes the pointing position of the pointing device on the virtual keyboard, the characters displayed in the second area are changed one after another. The operator may recognize the character displayed in the second area and give the determination instruction when a desired character is displayed. Thus, since the input is determined, the input operation can be easily performed, and even a beginner can easily perform the input operation.
[0040]
(13) In the character input method according to the present invention, the second area is arranged at a predetermined position on the display regardless of a position indicated by the pointing device.
[0041]
Therefore, an operator who knows the arrangement of the virtual keys in the first area can input by looking only at the second area. Thereby, character input with little movement of the line of sight becomes possible. In the second area, characters displayed on virtual keys of the virtual keyboard are enlarged and displayed. Therefore, even if the display is small, it is easy to confirm the selected character.
[0042]
(14) In the character input method according to the present invention, a virtual keyboard on which virtual keys for one screen set in advance are displayed in the first display area of the touch screen, and the operator moves the contact member to the first display area. When the touch screen is positioned in contact with the touch screen in a display area of any of the virtual keys in the first display area, a character assigned to the virtual key is temporarily selected in a second area of the touch screen. When the contact member is changed in position by the operator in the display area of another virtual key in a state of being in contact with the touch screen, a character to be displayed in the second area of the touch screen is displayed in the virtual area. When a character is changed to a character assigned to a key and the contact member is brought out of contact with the touch screen, a sentence displayed in the second area is displayed. To identify as an input character.
[0043]
Therefore, when the operator changes the position of the contact member in the display area of another virtual key while keeping the contact member in contact with the touch screen, the characters enlarged and displayed in the second area are changed one after another. The operator may recognize the character displayed in the second area and give the determination instruction when a desired character is displayed.
[0044]
In the present invention, the “contact member” refers to a member that performs an input by making contact with a touch screen, and corresponds to, for example, a stylus pen or a fingertip of a human.
[0045]
“A virtual keyboard in which virtual keys for one screen are arranged” means that, even if any virtual key is selected for one virtual key arranged in one screen, other virtual keys are not hidden. A virtual keyboard that can maintain such a state.
