Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To add a function of determining whether or not information can be transmitted as intended by the owner and a function of specifying the kind of the transmitted information to an IC card. SOLUTION: A plurality of electronic or mechanical switches are installed on the IC card and their states are decoded to selectively operate IC chips buried in the IC card.

Description: BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION 1. Field of the Invention The present invention relates to an IC card used for carrying and authenticating information. 2. Description of the Related Art A conventional IC card can extract information irrespective of the IC card owner's intention at that time according to a predetermined procedure. This fact increases the risk of being stolen when the IC card is lost. Further, when various types of information are mixedly loaded on an IC card, all the information is collectively obtained, and it is impossible to selectively provide information. [0003] The function of allowing the owner of the IC card to voluntarily select whether or not to provide information, and the function of allowing the owner of the IC card to voluntarily select the type of the provided information. It is intended to be added to an IC card. A plurality of electronic or mechanical switches are mounted on an IC card, and information transmission is determined based on a combination of the switch states, and the type of transmission information is specified. . [0005] A plurality of switches are arranged on the surface of an IC card to enable the IC card to input a password. Further, by setting a plurality of passwords, it is possible to transmit information corresponding to the password. The IC mounted on the IC card is activated by power supply and signal from an external radio wave,
It is activated by power and signals flowing through metal terminals provided on the card to transmit information. At this time, whether or not transmission information is available and the type of transmission information are selected based on the combination of the mounted switch states. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS As shown in FIG. 1, rotary switches 1-4 are mounted on the surface of an IC card. This switch is provided with a conductor or a conductor disk as shown in FIG. 4 at the center thereof for short-circuiting or opening the upper and lower terminals arranged on the inner surface of the card as shown in FIGS. It is the structure which installed. The outer peripheral portion of the disk has a protruding portion 5 at which the terminal is short-circuited, and the upper and lower terminals contacting this portion are short-circuited by DC when the disk is a conductor, and by AC when the disk is a dielectric. I do. The card has a three-layer structure as shown in FIG. 5, and physically holds the center disk. The state of this switch is decoded by a decoder as shown in FIG. 6, and if it matches a predetermined combination, the corresponding IC chip is activated. Otherwise, the IC chip does not operate. According to the present invention, the owner of the IC card sets the switch to a predetermined combination of switches so that the IC card can be used.
It is possible to activate a specific function of the card. Unless the owner of the IC card sets such a combination of switches, the function of the IC card does not operate, which has an effect on security. Also, when a plurality of different types of information such as financial asset information and medical history information are mixed on this IC card,
It is possible to selectively provide only appropriate information such as financial asset information to financial institutions and medical history information to hospitals. This has the effect that, although a plurality of different types of information are mixedly loaded on one card, only necessary information is supplied to the institution, and unnecessary information is not leaked. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS FIG. 1 is an external view of an IC card with a key function. FIG. 2 is a terminal surface on the inner surface of the first layer of the IC card with a key function. The wiring is made from the terminals installed on the circumference. The wiring is covered with an insulator. FIG. 3 is a terminal surface on the inner surface of a third layer of the IC card with a key function, which has a structure opposite to that of FIG. 2; FIG. 4 is a diagram showing the signal processing of an IC card with a key function.
