【発明の詳細な説明】
【０００１】
【発明の属する技術分野】この発明は、例えばパッケー
ジメディア（コンパクトディスク（ＣＤ）、デジタルバ
ーサタイルディスク（ＤＶＤ）など）を用いて不正な使
用が行なわれるのを防止できるようにした情報記憶媒体
と情報記憶・再生装置に関する。またこの発明は、情報
通信手段においても適用可能な情報記憶・再生装置に関
する。

【従来の技術】例えば、ＤＶＤビデオでは多くの場合コ
ンテンツ情報（ユーザデータ）は暗号化されて記録さ
れ、ディスクのある特定の場所に暗号を解くための鍵情
報が記録されている。
【０００３】このようなＤＶＤビデオのコンテンツ情報
が再生されるときは、当該ディスク上のある特定の場所
に記録された鍵情報が再生装置により再生される。そし
て、再生装置は、その再生された鍵情報を利用して暗号
化されたコンテンツ情報の復号化を行う。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】従来の技術では、鍵情
報とコンテンツ情報の変調方法が同じであり、チャネル
ビット長が等しい。このために、ディスク上で鍵情報が
何処に記録されているか分からなくても、ディスク上の
全情報を丸ごとコピー（ディスクコピー）すれば不正コ
ピーが可能になるという問題があった。
【０００５】そこでこの発明は、ディスク上の全情報、
或は伝送情報が丸ごとコピー（ディスク或はメモリにコ
ピー）されたとしても、その不正使用（再生・利用）を
防止することができるようにした不正使用防止用情報を
含む情報記憶媒体と情報記憶・再生方法及び装置を提供
することを目的とする。

【課題を解決するための手段】この発明は、上記の目的
を達成するために、鍵情報またはコピー制御情報または
コピー関連情報／暗号化関連情報とコンテンツ情報（ユ
ーザデータ情報）との間の変調方法が異なり、同時にチ
ャネルビット長が異なるようにしたものである。
【０００７】即ち、この発明は、鍵情報またはコピー制
御情報またはコピー関連情報／暗号化関連情報と、コン
テンツ情報（ユーザデータ情報）との間の変調方式もし
くはチャネルビット長を変えるようにしたものである。
【０００８】またこの発明に係る情報再生装置では異な
る変調方式、異なるチャネルビット長の両方の情報の再
生を可能とするものである。一方、この発明に係る情報
記録再生装置ではユーザデータに対する１種類の変調方
式、チャネルビット長の情報しか情報記憶媒体へ記録で
きないように構成したものである。

【発明の実施形態】以下、図面を参照しながら本発明の
実施の形態を説明する。
【００１０】図１は、本発明の情報記憶媒体の一実施の
形態を示している。３は、例えばＤＶＤビデオとしての
情報記憶媒体である。この情報記憶媒体３上の同一トラ
ックに沿ってシリアルに（交互に）ユーザデータ記録領
域１１、１２と暗号関連情報もしくは判別関連情報記録
領域１３が配置されている。
【００１１】ユーザデータ記録領域１１、１２と暗号関
連情報もしくは判別関連情報記録領域１３のそれぞれ最
後にはエンドマーク情報２３、２４が記録され、各記録
領域間の境界判別が容易になっている。また各記録領域
１１、１２、１３の先頭には同期合わせ用の信号である
ＶＦＯ（Ｖａｒｉａｂｌｅ Ｆｒｅｑｕｅｎｃｙ Ｏｓ
ｃｉｌｌａｔｏｒ）２７、２８とデータの切れ目判別用
の同期信号であるＳｙｎｃ３１、３２が配置されてい
る。

ザデータ領域２１、２２内には暗号化されたオーディオ
ビデオ（ＡＶ）コンテンツ情報（暗号化情報５２）が記
録されており、ユーザーはそのままの形では判読不可能
な形になっている。
【００１３】また暗号関連情報もしくは判別関連情報記
録領域１３内の暗号関連情報もしくは判別関連情報領域
３７内には上記の暗号化されたＡＶコンテンツ情報を復
号（暗号解読）するための鍵情報５１が記録されてい
る。

Ｆ、Ｓｙｎｃが存在するが、図面上では省略している、

報もしくは判別関連情報記録領域とは、時間方向（再生
方向）へ繰り返し到来する。ここで、暗号関連情報もし
くは判別関連情報記録領域に記録されている鍵情報の内
容は、その都度或はサイクル的に異なるようにしてもよ
いし、あるいは１つのディスクに関して全て同じである
ようにしてもよい。
【００１６】図２には、再生装置における信号処理部を
示している。先の暗号化情報５２は、暗号化情報取り込
み部１０１を介して復号器１０２に入力され、またこの
復号器１０２には、先の鍵情報５１が鍵情報レジスタ１
０３から入力される。これにより、復号器１０２から
は、プレーンな生情報５４が得られ、生情報出力部１０
４から導出される。

明する。本発明では、ユーザデータ領域２１、２２と暗
号関連情報もしくは判別関連情報領域３７に記録するデ
ータの変調方法とチャネルビット長を異ならせる所に本
発明の大きな特徴がある。
【００１８】特に暗号関連情報もしくは判別関連情報領
域３７のチャネルビット長は、ユーザデータ領域２１、
２２でのチャネルビット長より短く設定される共に両者
間のチャネルビット長は、非整数倍の関係に設定されて
いる。もし、暗号関連情報もしくは判別関連情報領域３
７でのチャネルビット長がユーザデータ領域２１、２２
のチャネルビット長のｎ倍（ｎは整数値）である場合に
は、追記もしくは書き換え可能な情報記録再生装置でユ
ーザデータ領域２１、２２を記録するための１種類の記
録回路で暗号関連情報もしくは判別関連情報領域３７の
情報を記録することが、可能になり、本発明の目的が達
成できなくなるからである。そこで本発明では、上記の
非整数倍の関係が設定されている。

対応する信号の様子とを示している。そしてこれに比較
させてユーザデータ領域のピット配列の様子と、このピ

チャネルビット長の関係は、非整数倍である。

くは判別関連情報領域３７内に鍵情報が記録されてい
る。しかし、本発明はこれに限定されるものではなく、
以下のような技術を含むものである。即ち、（ａ）メデ
ィアが、追記または書き換え可能な情報記憶媒体であっ
て、暗号関連情報もしくは判別関連情報領域３７内にコ
ピー制御情報が記録され、かつそれが“コピー禁止”の
情報であった場合には、再生装置側では、“暗号解読の
禁止（暗号化情報のまま出力）”“再生の禁止”“出力
の禁止”のいずれかを設定する情報として当該コピー制
御情報を用いることができる。また、（ｂ）暗号関連情
報もしくは判別関連情報領域３７内に情報記憶媒体の種
別判別情報が記録されていてもよい。この場合、再生装
置側では、再生専用の情報記憶媒体であれば重要なコン
テンツ情報に限りこれを復号後に出力する、しかし、そ
れ以外の情報記憶媒体であれば“再生の禁止”“出力の
禁止”のいずれかを設定する情報として、当該種別判別
情報を用いることができる。

と暗号関連情報もしくは判別関連情報領域３７に記録す
るデータの変調方法とチャネルビット長について説明す
る。暗号関連情報もしくは判別関連情報１３では、８／
１６変調を採用し、変調前の元情報６１（図３（ｂ））
の８ビットを１６ビットに変換する（図３（ｃ））。そ
れに対してユーザデータ領域１２では（１．７）変調を
採用し、変調前の元情報６１（図３（ｂ））の８ビット
を１２ビットに変換する（図３（ａ））。
【００２２】このように本発明の方法では、元情報の変
換後のビット数が、暗号関連情報もしくは判別関連情報
１３とユーザデータ１２とでは異なる。したがって、変
調前の元情報６１のデータービット長が同じ場合、両領
域では、変調後のチャネルビット長が異なるものとな
る。
【００２３】図４を用いて、図１に示した情報記憶媒体
を再生する情報再生装置もしくは情報記録再生装置内の
情報再生回路を説明する。位相同期ループ回路を構成す
るＶＣＯ（Voltage Controll Oscillator）７４の出力
には非常に高い周波数クロックが出力される。ユーザデ
ータ記録領域１１、１２が再生されている時には、１／
３分周器７６の出力信号がスイッチ７７を通過して基準
クロック出力部８５に入力され、基準クロックαとな
り、暗号関連情報もしくは判別関連情報記録領域１３が
再生されている時には、１／２分周器７５の出力信号が
スイッチ７７を通過して基準クロック出力部８５に入力
され、基準クロックαとなる。
【００２４】ディスクより取り込まれた入力回路７１か
らの入力信号は、２値化回路７８で２値化され、この２
値化回路７８の出力は、データーパターン判別器８０に
入力される。このデータパターン判別器８０では、基準
クロックαを用いてデータパターンを再生する。再生さ
れたデータパターン情報は、エンドマーク検出部８１に
入力される。このエンドマーク検出部８１では、データ
パターンよりエンドマーク２３、２４を検出しその検出
信号をスイッチ７７及びスイッチ８２に与える。これに
よりスイッチ７７は、次のチャネルビット長に適応する

【００２５】基準クロックは、２値化回路７８、データ
パターン判別器８０のサンプリングクロックとして利用
される。２値化回路７８から出力された２値化信号は、
情報処理回路７９に入力される。この情報処理回路７９
では、同期信号の除去、フレーム取り出しが行なわれ
る。抽出されたフレーム（変調された状態の信号）は、
スイッチ８２を介して復調器８３または復調器８４に入
力される。ここで復調器８３は、暗号関連情報もしくは
判別関連情報を復調する、つまり１６／８復調を行な
う。また復調器８４は、コンテンツ情報の復調を行な
う。スイッチ８２は、先のエンドマーク検出器８１から
の切替え制御信号に基づいて復調器８３又は８４を選択
する。ユーザデータ記録領域１１、１２が再生されてい
る時には、復調器８４が選択され、暗号関連情報もしく
は判別関連情報記録領域１３が再生されている時には、
復調器８３が選択される。
【００２６】このように暗号関連情報もしくは判別関連
情報記録領域１３とユーザデータ記録領域１１、１２と
で基準クロックαの周波数を切り替えるところに本発明
の情報再生回路の大きな特徴がある。
【００２７】図１〜図４で説明した情報記憶媒体３は主
に再生専用形として説明した。本発明は、他の実施例と
して追記もしくは書き換え可能な情報記憶媒体において
も適用可能である。
【００２８】図５には、追記もしくは書き換え可能な情
報記憶媒体３に本発明を摘要した例を示している。ユー
ザーによる追記・書き換え可能な情報記録領域４２内に
は記録マーク１を形成して情報の記録を行う。
【００２９】これに対して、最内周部と最外周部には、
リードイン領域４１とリードアウト領域４３が存在し、
この領域には、予めピット２の形で情報が記録され、こ
の情報の書き換えは不可能になっている。暗号関連情報
もしくは判別関連情報領域３８は、このリードイン領域
４１またはリードアウト領域４３内に存在する。そこに
鍵情報または識別情報５５が記録されいる。この鍵情報
または識別情報５５が、ユーザー情報記録領域４６内に
記録され得る暗号化情報５２の復号に利用される。この
場合も図３示したように、暗号関連情報もしくは判別関
連情報領域３８とユーザー情報記録領域４６で変調方式
またはチャネルビット長が変化させられている。
【００３０】この実施例においても再生処理部において
復号を行なう場合には、先に説明した図４の回路及び図
２の回路が適用される。
【００３１】図６は、上記の追記もしくは書き換え可能
な情報記憶媒体３を扱う情報記録再生装置内の回路を示
している。追記もしくは書き換え可能な情報記憶媒体３
にはトラックに沿ってウォーブル９１が存在する。光学
的に読取り、電気信号に変換した再生信号は、ウォーブ
ル検出回路９２に入力される。ウォーブル検出回路９２
は、ウォーブル信号をフィルタリングして取り出し、2
値化回路９３に供給する。2値化回路９３から出力され
た2値化信号は、周波数比較器９４及び位相比較器９５
に入力される。この周波数比較器９４及び位相比較器９
５には、電圧制御発振器（ＶＣＯ）９６の発振信号が分
周器９７で分周されて与えられている。周波数比較器９
４から得られた周波数誤差信号及び位相比較器９５から
得られた位相誤差信号は、ＶＣＯ９６の発振周波数制御
信号として用いられる。これによりＶＣＯ９６の発振出
力は、ウォーブル信号の周波数及び位相に同期した信号
となり基準クロック回路に与えられる。ここで生成され
た基準クロックβがレーザドライブ回路９９に供給され
る。そして、記録信号発生回路９８から与えられる記録
信号に基づいて、上記基準クロックβが変調され、レー
ザ光となり出力される。
【００３２】図６に示したように、記録回路系では図４
の再生回路系と異なり、基準クロックβのみが発生す
る。基準クロックβは１種類の周波数しか存在しない。
この周波数はユーザーによる追記・書き換え可能な情報
記録領域４２内の記録マーク１の記録／再生用の周波数
に合わせてあり、暗号関連情報もしくは判別関連情報領
域３８のチャネルビット長に対応した周波数にはならな
い。
【００３３】したがって、追記もしくは書き換え可能な
情報記憶媒体３を扱う情報記録再生装置内の記録回路系
では、暗号関連情報もしくは判別関連情報領域３８の情
報を記録することは不可能である。
【００３４】上述したようにこの発明は、コピー関連情
報、暗号化関連情報、識別情報の内少なくとも１種類の
情報を含む第１の情報と、この第１の情報とは異なり、
ユーザーが利用する第２の情報が記録される情報記憶媒
体に対して適用される。ここで第１の情報が記録される
情報記憶媒体上（領域）に第１の基準長さ（チャネルビ
ット長）が定義され、第１の基準長さの整数倍の間隔で
第１の情報に関する再生信号情報が記録される。そし
て、第２の情報が記録される情報記憶媒体上（領域）に
は第２の基準長さ（チャネルビット長）が定義され、前
記第２の基準長さの整数倍の間隔で上記第２の情報に関
する再生信号情報が記録される。さらに、第１の基準長
さと第２の基準長さが互いに異なるように設定されてい
る。
【００３５】これにより、追記もしくは書き換え可能な
情報記録再生装置では追記もしくは書き換え可能な情報
記憶媒体の記録領域内に対しては、第２のチャネルビッ
ト長に合わせて記録する機能しか持たせないようにす
る。その結果、第１のチャネルビット長で記録された情
報を追記もしくは書き換え可能な情報記憶媒体の記録領
域内への記録が不可能となる。よって、コピー禁止情報
に対する不正コピーを防止する事が出来る。
【００３６】また、この発明では、上記の情報記憶媒体
に対して第１の情報を再生し、再生した第１の情報内容
に基付き、第２の情報の再生制御と第２の情報に対する
暗号解読と第２の情報に対する出力制御の内、少なくと
もいずれかの処理を行う情報再生装置を得ることができ
る。
【００３７】これにより、追記もしくは書き換え可能な
情報記録再生装置で記録できない第１の情報に媒体識別
情報やコピー制御情報を持たせる事ができるようにな
る。そして第１の情報に基付き第２の情報再生を禁止し
たり、第２の情報の出力を禁止させる事が可能なだけで
無く、上記第１の情報をコピーすることが出来ないので
第１の情報に対する高い信頼性を確保できる。
【００３８】また追記もしくは書き換え可能な情報記録
再生装置で記録できない第１の情報に暗号解読用の鍵情
報を記録する事でコピー禁止情報のコピーを強力に防止
できる。つまり第１の情報を追記もしくは書き換え可能
な情報記憶媒体内の記録領域内に無理矢理コピーしたと
してもチャネルビット長が異なるために正確に鍵情報を
コピーできないため、間違った鍵情報をコピーすること
になり、再生装置でこのような鍵情報を用いて第2の情
報の再生を行なおうとしても正確な復号（暗号解読処
理）が不可能になる。
【００３９】尚この発明は、上記の実施の形態に限定さ
れるものではない。上記の説明では、情報記憶媒体とし
てディスクを対象としたが、無線或は有線の伝送路を介
して伝送する信号媒体に対して、本発明を適用できるこ
とは勿論である。またこのような信号を伝送する装置及
び受信する装置及び方法についても本発明は適用できる
ものである。

【発明の効果】以上説明したようにこの発明によれば、
ディスク上の全情報、或は伝送情報が丸ごとコピー（デ
ィスク或はメモリコピー）されたとしても、その不正使
用（再生・利用）を防止することができる。

Claims (7)

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. 【請求項１】 コピー関連情報、暗号化関連情報、識別
    情報の内少なくとも１種類の情報を含む第１の情報と、
    上記第１の情報とは異なり、ユーザーが利用する第２の
    情報が記録される情報記憶媒体に対して、 上記第１の情報が記録される情報記憶媒体上に第１の基
    準長さ（チャネルビット長）が定義され、前記第１の基
    準長さの整数倍の間隔で上記第１の情報に関する再生信
    号情報が記録され、 上記第２の情報が記録される情報記憶媒体上に第２の基
    準長さ（チャネルビット長）が定義され、前記第２の基
    準長さの整数倍の間隔で上記第２の情報に関する再生信
    号情報が記録され、 かつ上記第１の基準長さと上記第２の基準長さが互いに
    異なる事を特徴とする情報記憶媒体。
  2. 【請求項２】 コピー関連情報、暗号化関連情報、識別
    情報の内少なくとも１種類の情報を含む第１の情報と、
    上記第１の情報とは異なり、ユーザーが利用する第２の
    情報が記録される情報記憶媒体であり、上記第１の情報
    が記録される情報記憶媒体上に第１の基準長さ（チャネ
    ルビット長）が定義され、前記第１の基準長さの整数倍
    の間隔で上記第１の情報に関する再生信号情報が記録さ
    れ、上記第２の情報が記録される情報記憶媒体上に第２
    の基準長さ（チャネルビット長）が定義され、前記第２
    の基準長さの整数倍の間隔で上記第２の情報に関する再
    生信号情報が記録され、かつ上記第１の基準長さと上記
    第２の基準長さが互いに異なる情報記憶媒体をアクセス
    する装置であり、 上記第１の情報を再生し、再生した上記第１の情報内容
    に基付き、上記第２の情報の再生制御と上記第２の情報
    に対する暗号解読と上記第２の情報に対する出力制御の
    内少なくともいずれかの処理を行う手段を備えることを
    特徴とする情報再生装置。
  3. 【請求項３】前記第1の情報と第2の情報との時間的配置
    順番は、交互に配置され、第1の情報を再生した内容に
    基いて、この第1の情報の次に到来する第2の情報の復号
    が得られるように設定されていることを特徴とする請求
    項1記載の情報記憶媒体。
  4. 【請求項４】前記第1の情報が前記第2の情報の先頭又は
    最後尾に存在し、前記第1の情報を再生した内容に基い
    て、第2の情報の全ての復号を得られるようにことを特
    徴とする請求項1記載の情報記憶媒体。
  5. 【請求項５】前記第1の情報及び第2の情報は、伝送路を
    介して到来する情報であることを特徴とする請求項2記
    載の情報再生装置。
  6. 【請求項６】前記第1の情報及び第2の情報は、記録媒体
    より再生された情報であることを特徴とする請求項2記
    載の情報再生装置。
  7. 【請求項７】上記第１の情報と上記第2の情報を位相同
    期回路ループに供給し、上記第1と第2の情報のチャネル
    ビット長さに応じて前記位相同期ループに周波数を切り
    替える手段と、 上記第1、第2の情報が入力される２値化回路に上記位相
    同期ループ回路からのクロックをサンプリング用として
    入力する手段とを具備したことを特徴とする請求項2記
    載の情報再生装置。
