When the rainfall is severe, raindrops fall radially from the entire periphery of the umbrella as well as the dew. Wet your belongings or clothes directly by the raindrop or by the raindrop that bounces off the ground, and you may be displeased by others when walking in crowded places or watching sports. There is a demand for a umbrella with a gutter that forms a gutter at the periphery of the umbrella and collects rain dripping, and allows rainwater collected on the gutter to drop from drain holes provided at specific locations. However, when a guttered western umbrella is implemented by the disclosed technology of the above-mentioned publication, an important technical problem of the umbrella cloth when forming a gutter portion on an umbrella cloth edge extending from a rib to an end bone for a gutter. Is
Japanese Utility Model Publication No. 43-30672 described above and Japanese Utility Model Publication 6-4.
Neither of the gutters disclosed in Japanese Patent No. 9213, Japanese Patent Publication No. 56-49563 or the like has solved any problem. In the above-mentioned known documents,
No. 0672 discloses that a single umbrella cloth edge stretched over a rib 11 is treated with a rainwater treatment piece 60 as shown in FIG.
In the method of forming a gutter portion in a folded form on the (gutter tip bone),
Distortion of the umbrella fabric edge due to the tension caused by the umbrella fabric being stretched on the ribs (Fig. 4
As a result, at least the gutter bottom cannot be formed in a straight line. The specific reason and contents will be described later with reference to FIG.

On the other hand, Japanese Patent Publication No. 53-24424 discloses a configuration in which a bag gutter 70 is formed inside an umbrella in a form folded inside a stretched umbrella cloth. However, when the umbrella cloth edge is stretched inside the western umbrella as a form in which only the umbrella cloth is folded, unless the folded umbrella cloth edge is hung from the rib 11 or the umbrella cloth 77 with a sewing thread or the like, FIG.
A bag gutter 7 as shown in FIG.
0 is not formed, and in this case, the folded umbrella cloth edge in FIG. 21B is properly extended at most in the horizontal direction as indicated by the dotted line 76 as an additional line. Further, Japanese Patent Publication No. 56-49563 discloses an example in which a part of an umbrella cloth edge is configured to stand up by tension at the time of opening the umbrella, and a gutter portion is formed in a part of the umbrella edge. However, it is clear that the formation of the gutter part of the umbrella edge cannot sufficiently fulfill the purpose as a guttered western umbrella. Further, since the gutter in the known document is in a state where the inflow port of the gutter is opened to the maximum in any known document, and the gutter is not configured to support the umbrella fabric,
With the gutter portion of the configuration disclosed in the known document,
The gutter may be damaged under the influence of wind pressure during heavy rain.

The applicant of the present invention focused on the effect of the guttered umbrella and paid attention to the effects of the guttered umbrella, including the technology disclosed in the above-mentioned known document, and from the results of repeated trial production of various types of guttered umbrellas, the present applicant has found that According to the configuration disclosed in the literature, in a configuration in which a single umbrella fabric stretched over the rib is folded back over the gutter tip bone, the umbrella fabric edge is stretched along with the rib as described later. Due to the resulting distortion, at least the bottom of the gutter cannot be constructed in a substantially straight line, and it has been found that the purpose of a guttered western umbrella cannot be essentially fulfilled by stretching a single umbrella fabric. In other words, to configure a gutter in the folded form of the umbrella cloth on the periphery of the western umbrella, and to make the rainwater collected in the gutter smoothly circulate in the annular gutter and drain from one drain hole,
It is indispensable to configure the gutter bottom in a substantially straight line, and it is recognized that an important technical issue of guttered western umbrellas is umbrella fabric for stretching to a western umbrella frame structure. The invention of an umbrella fabric body for constituting was carried out.

The present applicant has focused on the fact that an important technical problem when forming a gutter at the edge of a western umbrella is an umbrella fabric for stretching on a western umbrella frame structure. Umbrella fabric to be stretched to the tip bone for gutter and gutter fabric to be stretched separately are cut and sewn, respectively, using the umbrella fabric and gutter fabric sewn, the gutter bottom when stretched to the western umbrella frame structure is approximately On the premise that the umbrella is constructed in a straight line, the invention aimed at solving the problem in the western umbrella with a gutter sewn and combined into one umbrella fabric body has been made, and has already been disclosed in Japanese Patent Application No. 2000-270843 (September 6, 2000). )
Patent pending. The outline of the umbrella fabric body proposed in the patent application is described below. As shown in FIG. Since it is assumed that a gutter part is provided by providing a gutter tip to the rib, an insertion hole for the gutter tip bone is provided at the joining edge of both the umbrella cloth and the gutter cloth, and an umbrella with a gutter is assembled. In the process, it was necessary to insert a gutter tip bone from the insertion hole to the tip of the rib. That is, in order to adopt a configuration in which the gutter tip bone is sandwiched by the folded gutter cloth, the joint portion of the umbrella cloth edge and the cloth where the gutter tip bone is arranged in the gutter cloth is formed by the gutter tip. A gutter to which a bone insertion position is non-sewn, and as a result, an umbrella fabric body that is sewn and united into one in a form in which an insertion hole of a gutter tip bone that leads to the front and back of the umbrella fabric across the umbrella fabric edge is provided. It was an attached umbrella.

However, in the present umbrella dough body, in order to constitute a so-called western umbrella with no trough tip for trough without the insertion hole of the trough for trough in the above-mentioned umbrella dough body, all of the umbrella cloth body including the umbrella dough body is included. In connection with the configuration in which the gutter part is arranged on the surface side of the rib, the joint part of the umbrella cloth and the gutter cloth at the time of sewing and combining is not provided with the insertion hole of the gutter tip bone, that is, both cloths are cut off. It is possible to sew and combine into one umbrella fabric body without performing continuous sewing without performing. In the present invention, as a result of improving the already proposed guttered umbrella shown in the patent application, there is no need to provide the insertion hole of the gutter tip bone in the umbrella cloth body, An object of the present invention is to provide an umbrella with a gutter constituted by an umbrella fabric body that is more effectively used to improve productivity and reduce cost.

FIG. 4A shows a cut umbrella fabric 26 for umbrella fabric.
It is. Typical umbrella fabrics are water-repellent fabric materials and waterproof, cotton, polyester, polyethylene, nylon, vinyl (polyvinyl chloride) and other materials used as umbrella fabrics. 4 (a), the dough is cut in a form similar to an isosceles triangle. Generally, the bottom side 26a is cut by a straight line, but the two sides 26b and 26c are cut as curved sides bent slightly outward. FIG. 4 (b) shows the eight cut umbrella fabrics 26 shown in FIG.
FIG. 4A shows a half of a plan view of the umbrella fabric 17 sewn in a step called middle stitching at a middle stitching line (eye) 28 with a seam allowance 27 of 26c, and each bottom side 26a in FIG. The tied line corresponds to the umbrella fabric edge 17e in FIG. 4B, and the umbrella fabric 17 sewn with the middle sewing line (eye) 28 has a substantially regular octagonal shape as shown in FIG. The umbrella fabric in the state of being done is called a cover in the umbrella industry). The umbrella cloth 17 employs a sewing method called chain stitching by a sewing machine as the middle stitch (line) 28 so as to be able to cope with stretching during stretching. In the umbrella fabric body 19 described later, the umbrella fabric 17 formed as shown in FIG. 4B is used as the first embodiment, and one umbrella fabric is combined with a gutter fabric 18 (see FIG. 8) described later. FIG. 4C shows the above-mentioned middle sewing line (eye) 2.
8 is a cross-sectional view taken along the line aa in FIG. 4B, assuming that the umbrella cloth 17 sewn in FIG. 8 has rigidity. It forms a ridge like a mountain slope toward it. As described above, the cut umbrella fabric 26 is cut with curved sides 26b and 26c, the umbrella fabric 17 is drawn and cut into a mountain shape as shown in FIG. The reason is that, as shown in FIG. 4 (e), which is a cross-sectional view showing a state where the umbrella fabric is stretched over the ribs 11, the umbrella fabric 17 is devised so as to be formed into a good dome shape when stretched over the ribs 11. It is based on the results obtained. next,
FIG. 4D is a plan view when the umbrella fabric 17 is stretched over the rib 11 as shown in FIG. 4E, and the umbrella fabric 17 is stretched along with the rib 11. Arrow 29 on the surface
The component force accompanying the extension in the direction of the rib 11 shown by the arrow acts, and the umbrella cloth edge 17e (the line connecting the base 26a) which was straight before the extension is formed by the combined tension 30 at the time of the extension as shown in the figure. It is pulled in the direction of the arrow to be curved. It is based on such a reason that the edge of the umbrella cloth connecting the outcrops in a general western umbrella is formed in a curved shape.

Here, the above-mentioned umbrella fabric problem that occurs when the gutter portion is to be formed with the conventional umbrella fabric will be described. As apparent from the above description with reference to FIG. 4D, for example, the rainwater treatment piece 60 (gutter tip bone for trough) in the form shown in FIG. ) With the umbrella bone shown in FIG.
The case where the umbrella fabric 17 formed as shown in FIG. A through-hole 77a (see FIG. 19) for the rainwater treatment piece 60 is formed on the corresponding edge of the umbrella cloth 17 in FIG. 4 (b), and the rainwater treatment piece 60 (gutter tip bone) is inserted into the tip of the rib 11. When the umbrella fabric edge 17e is folded back and stretched on the rainwater treatment piece 60 to form a gutter portion, the umbrella fabric edge 17e shown in FIG.
In (d), the umbrella cloth edge 17e is pulled in a curved shape by the tension effect accompanying the tension on the rib 11 described above,
As a result, the folded umbrella cloth edge 17e is naturally distorted. As a result, if the conventional umbrella cloth is stretched using the umbrella cloth alone, the gutter cannot be formed well. In the folded form of the umbrella cloth edge in a single umbrella cloth extended from the rib, the above-described substantially straight gutter bottom 1 which is indispensable for the gutter section configuration is required.
8b (see FIG. 2 and FIG. 11)
It is apparent that the above explanation clearly understands.

Meanwhile, the umbrella fabric 18 to be combined with the umbrella fabric body 19 according to the present invention may be formed on the umbrella fabric 17 using a cut umbrella fabric 31 having a form as shown in FIG. Next, the umbrella fabric 17 of the second embodiment will be described. FIG. 5A shows the umbrella fabric 17 of the second embodiment.
Is formed, and the two curved sides 26b and 26c are cut in the same manner as in the first embodiment, but the bottom side 31a in the present embodiment is formed in an arc shape as shown in the drawing. It is cut and the seam 37 is abutted and the middle sewing line (eye) 2
The peripheral edge portion sewn in step 8 has a substantially circular shape, and the half body in the plan view has a form as shown in FIG. 5B. The umbrella cloth 17 in FIG. 5B is the same as that of the first embodiment shown in FIG.
It is needless to say that the umbrella cloth edge 17e of the umbrella cloth 17 formed as described above can be formed similarly by cutting it into an arc shape. As the umbrella fabric 17, the umbrella fabric edge 17e which was substantially circular before being stretched to the ribs 11 becomes an approximately straight umbrella fabric edge 17e as shown by a broken line by the combined tension 30 in the stretched state. Second, the drawing and cutting of the arcuate state of the umbrella cloth edge 17e were performed based on the result of a simulation of the state of the umbrella cloth edge accompanying the extension to the rib 11, and the sewing was finished. It is an umbrella cloth 17 (cover) of an example.

By the way, as the gutter cloth 18 described above with reference to FIGS. 7 and 15, in particular, rainwater is collected and temporarily stored in the gutter part, or when the umbrella is closed, the gutter part is folded while being wet. From the viewpoint of the function as a gutter cloth, a material having good waterproofness and water resistance and good drainage is particularly desirable. Furthermore, the gutter cloth stretched over the gutter section has no slack or wrinkle distortion, and the gutter cloth is always stretched to keep the gutter section in a predetermined appearance shape from the functional aspect and design as a guttered western umbrella. There is a need. As a preferable material condition of the gutter cloth, a cloth material having a moderate elasticity and elasticity together with a waterproof function as described above is preferable. In recent years, by coating a very thin resin film on the surface of the cloth, An umbrella fabric that has been subjected to a so-called strong water-repellent finish that completely repels rainwater without losing the texture of the fabric has been incorporated into western umbrella products.
Umbrella fabrics made of water repellent Teflon (registered trademark), aluminum or the like are also popular. Therefore,
In connection with the base fabric, the umbrella fabric coated with the thin resin film can be processed into an umbrella fabric that is designed to have an appropriate elasticity and elasticity. Further, using a raw material processed into a sheet with a thermoplastic resin of a polymer material such as polyester, nylon, polyethylene, vinyl (polyvinyl chloride) or the like described above, the sewing line (mesh) in the gutter cloth described in FIGS. ) Instead of sewing the joint described as 34, heat sealing, ultrasonic sealing, or
Gutter cloth is bonded by hot-melt bonding as shown in Figs.
It is also possible to perform joining processing into the annular shape as described in 5 above, and it is more convenient in production if the gutter cloth is integrally formed. The mass production effect can further enhance the productivity and the function as a Western umbrella with a gutter.

By the way, the constructed gutter section (FIG. 2, FIG. 11)
If the umbrella with a gutter is folded and left for a long time with the gutter wet, the inside of the gutter may become wet and odorous.
It is desirable that the upper end of the gutter be fixed to the umbrella cloth at only one place between the ribs to improve ventilation inside the gutter. On the other hand, when the hand 3 of the western umbrella is not a J-shape as shown in each of the above-described embodiments, but is simply a handle type, the umbrella body 19 is used as a method for indicating the position of the drain hole 22. , The band B (see FIGS. 2 and 18) that hangs down from the umbrella body may correspond to the drain hole. In addition, although the present invention has been described with reference to an embodiment in which the present invention is applied to a so-called long umbrella jumping form having eight ribs, the ribs may have an 8 rib.
Not only long umbrellas and hand-opened types having more than this number, but also folding type hook type and topless type, etc. You can do it.

As described above, during heavy rainfall, raindrops fall radially from the entire periphery of the umbrella as well as the dew. Wet your belongings or clothes by the rain dripping directly or by the rain dripping off the ground, and even if others are raining when walking in crowded places or watching sports, etc. Are many. The above problem is solved by a configuration of a guttered umbrella in which a gutter is formed on the periphery of the umbrella to collect rainwater and the rainwater collected in the gutter is dropped from a drain hole provided at a specific location. But,
In a configuration in which a single umbrella fabric stretched on the rib as disclosed in the above-mentioned known document is folded back over the gutter tip bone, the purpose cannot be fulfilled due to distortion of the umbrella fabric edge accompanying the stretching. There was an important issue of umbrella fabric. That is, to configure the gutter in the folded form of the umbrella cloth edge on the periphery of the western umbrella, and to make the rainwater collected in the gutter smoothly circulate in the annular gutter and drain from one drain hole, It is an essential condition to form the gutter bottom straight. The present invention relates to the use of an umbrella cloth and a gutter cloth which are cut and sewn separately as an umbrella cloth to be stretched on a rib and a gutter cloth to form a gutter portion in a folded form at an umbrella cloth edge. In particular, in consideration of the situation of the umbrella fabric at the time of stretching to the ribs, using an umbrella fabric body in which both fabrics are sewn and united into one, the gutter bottom configured in a folded form at the periphery of the western umbrella is approximately The umbrella fabric in the western umbrella with gutter described above can be satisfactorily solved. With the above configuration, when the umbrella with gutter 1 is rained as shown in FIGS. 2 and 18 and the umbrella is inserted by slightly tilting the center rod 2 in the J-shaped direction of the hand 3, the rainwater collected in the gutter 20 Can be smoothly circulated in the gutter and drained from the drain hole 22. Furthermore, in the present invention, all the gutters provided on the periphery of the umbrella are arranged on the ribs, that is, on the surface side of the umbrella cloth, and the gutters are formed without providing the gutter tip at the tip of the ribs. An insertion hole for the gutter tip bone is not required at the edge of the cloth body, so that the function can be exhibited more favorably, the productivity can be improved, and the cost-reduced western umbrella can be realized.
