Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery housing device for an electronic apparatus with which there is no risk of reverse insertion of a battery into a battery housing room. SOLUTION: With the battery housing device for an electronic apparatus with a lid 10 fitted at a battery putting-in and taking-out opening 2a of a battery housing room 4 equipped inside a case body 1, a battery guide 4c is set up in the battery housing room 4, on the one hand, for preventing a reverse insertion of a battery 5 by contacting with the slanted sides of the battery 5 with its end face formed nearly in parallelepiped shaped, and a battery- pressing piece 4e is set up, on the other, at a location opposite to the battery guide 4c across the battery housing room 4, for elastically pressing the battery 5 housed in the battery housing room 4 toward the battery guide 4c. Therefore, since the battery 5 can in no way be inserted in reverse by mistake into the battery housing room 4, there is no fear of a cable 6, a connector 7 or the like suffering from an undue force and being broken with it.

However, in the battery storage device of the above-mentioned conventional electronic equipment, when the packed battery e is stored in the battery storage chamber d, the battery e is erroneously inserted upside down (a so-called “battery”). In the case of reverse insertion), the length of the cable i becomes insufficient, and an excessive force is applied to the connection portion between the cable i and the battery e and the connection portion between the cable i and the connector j. There are problems such as peeling, resulting in connection failure, and excessive force applied to the cable i, which may cause disconnection.

As described above in detail, the present invention provides a battery storage chamber provided in the case body by contacting the oblique side of the battery, whose end face is formed in a substantially parallelogram. Since the battery guide for preventing insertion is provided, even if an attempt is made to reversely insert the battery into the battery compartment, the battery guide prevents the battery from being inserted. This prevents excessive force from being applied to the connection between the battery and cable, or the connection between the cable and connector, so that the solder at the connection does not come off and connection failure does not occur, and excessive force is applied to the cable. Because there is nothing, the cable does not break.

At a position facing the battery guide across the battery storage chamber, a battery holding piece for elastically pressing the battery stored in the battery storage chamber in the direction of the battery guide is provided. Since the erroneous insertion prevention rib for preventing erroneous insertion of the battery is provided, the battery is sandwiched between the battery guide and the battery holding piece and the erroneous insertion prevention rib, so that the battery does not rattle in the battery storage room, This eliminates the need to provide a cushion body on the inner surface of the lid, so that the number of parts and the cost can be reduced.
