図１９は図１８に示したラッパーの（縦の中心線に沿って取られた）断面図で あり、その中の生理用ナプキンが畳まれた構成である。 発明の詳細な説明 図面において、本発明が好適ではあるが、非制限的な実施態様に具体化されて いる。図１、２、３に示すように、発明は使い捨て吸収体、特に生理用ナプキン ２０用のラッパー７８を備える。 生理用ナプキン２０は月経等の腟の排出物を集め、このような排出物による着 用者の衣類の汚れを防止するために使用される。図１及び図２に示すように、生 理用ナプキン２０は基本的に本体部分２２、第１フラップ（前部フラップ）２４ 、及び第２フラップ（後部フラップ）２５を備える。生理用ナプキン２０の本体 部分２２は着用者の下着に本体部分２２を固定するために、その上に感圧接着性 ファスナー７４等のファスナーを有することができる。第１フラップ２４は着用 しくは各々その上に感圧接着性ファスナー７７等の第２ファスナー（後部フラッ プファスナー）を有する。本発明のラッパー７８は第１フラップファスナー７６ 、第２フラップファスナー７７、及び本体ファスナー７４（もしある場合）をカ バーし、保護する働きをし、生理用ナプキン２０の個々の包装を提供するために 、生理用ナプキン２０のまわりに折り畳まれる。ラッパー７８の特徴を詳細に考 察する前に、生理用ナプキン２０の特性について簡単に論じてみよう。 生理用ナプキン２０（及びその本体部分２２）は２つの表面、つまり着用者の 身体に隣接して着用するものである、液体浸透性の身体接触表面もしくは「身体 表面」２０Ａと、液体不浸透性の衣類表面２０Ｂとを有する。生理用ナプキン２ ０はその身体表面２０Ａから見たものとして、図１に示されている。生理用ナプ キン２０は２本の中心線、基本的な縦の中心線Ｌと基本的な横の中心線（図１に は図示していない）を有する。本明細書において使用する「縦の」という用語は 、生理用ナプキン２０が着用される時、立っている着用者を左と右の半分づつに 二分する垂直面と一般的に整列する（例えば、ほぼ並列する）生理用ナプキン２ ０の面にある線、軸もしくは方向を意味する。本明細書において使用する「横の 」、「水平の」あるいは「幅」という用語は交換でき、一般的に縦方向に対して 垂直である生理用ナプキン２０の面内にある線、軸もしくは方向を意味する。 図１は生理用ナプキン２０の本体部分２２が第２フラップ２４と第２フラップ ２５を持たない生理用ナプキンの部分で構成される。本体部分２２は間隔を開け て配置される２つの縦の縁２６と、間隔を開けて配置される２つの横縁または端 縁（または「端」）２８を有し、それらは共に本体部分の周縁部３０を形成する 。また本体部分２２は中央部分（第１区分）３６、一端部分（第２区分）３４、 及び他端部分（第３区分）３２で構成される３つの区分を有する。第１区分３６ は第２区分３４と第３区分３２の間に配置される。第２区分３４と第３区分３２ は本体部分２２の中央区分３６の縁から縦方向に外向きに伸びる。生理用ナプキ 生理用ナプキン２０の本体部分２２は、比較的厚めのもの、中間の厚さのもの である。比較的薄いもの、あるいは非常に薄いもの（または「超薄」）を含み、 どのような厚さのものでもよい。Ｏｓｂｏｒｎに対して発行された米国特許第４ ，９５０，２６４号及び第５，００９，６５３号に記載されたような、「超薄」 生理用ナプキン２０は好ましくは約３ミリメートル以下のキャリパーを有する。 図面に示した生理用ナプキン２０の実施態様は、中間の厚さの生理用ナプキンの 例を表わすものである。生理用ナプキン２０の本体部分２２も着用者にとって快 適であるように、比較的柔軟であってよい。図示した生理用ナプキンは単に１つ の実施態様にすぎず、本発明のラッパーは図面に示したタイプの吸収体、または 図示したような特殊な構成を有する吸収体との使用に制限されないことを理解す べきである。 図３は生理用ナプキン２０の本体部分２２の個々の成分を示す。生理用ナプキ ン２０の本体部分２２は好ましくは少なくとも３つの基本的な成分を備える。こ れらは液体浸透性のトップシート３８、液体不浸透性のバックシート４０、及び トップシート３８とバックシート４０間におかれる吸収芯４２を含む。トップシ ート、バックシート及び吸収芯は当業者で公知の（積層もしくは「サンドイッチ 」構成のもの、及び包まれた、あるいは「管」の構成のものを含む）種々の構成 に組み立てられてよい。 本体部分２２の成分用の適当な材料、及びこのような成分を組み立てることが できる様々な構成は、１９８２年３月３０日にア−（Ａｈｒ）に対して発行され 、「縁どりのある使い捨て吸収体」（”Ｂｏｒｄｅｒｅｄ Ｄｉｓｐｏｓａｂｌ ｅ Ａｂｓｏｒｂｅｎｔ Ａｒｔｉｃｌｅ”）と題された米国特許第４，３２１ ，９２４号；１９８４年１月１０日にデスマレイス（ＤｅｓＭａｒａｉｓ）に対 して発行され、「複合生理用ナプキン」（Ｃｏｍｐｏｕｎｄ Ｓａｎｉｔａｒｙ Ｎａｐｋｉｎ”）と題された米国特許第４，４２５，１３０号；１９９０年８月 ２１日にオスボーン（Ｏｓｂｏｒｎ）に対して発行され、「薄くて柔軟な生理用 ナプキン」（”Ｔｈｉｎ， Ｆｌｅｘｉｂｌｅ Ｓａｎｉｔａｒｙ Ｎａｐｋｉ ｎ”）と題された米国特許第４，９５０，２６４号；１９９４年５月３日にスネ ラーその他（Ｓｎｅｌｌｅｒ ｅｔ ａｌ．）に対して発行され、「伸縮性を持 たせた生理用ナプキン」（”Ｅｌａｓｔｉｃｉｚｅｄ Ｓａｎｉｔａｒｙ Ｎａ ｐｋｉｎ”）と題された米国特許第５，３０８，３４６号；及び１９９５年２月 １４日にラバッシュその他（Ｌａｖａｓｈ ｅｔ ａｌ．）に対して発行され、 「フラップと特異な伸展性ゾーンを有する吸収体」（”ｂｓｏｒｂｅｎｔ Ａｒ ｔｉｃｌｅ Ｈａｖｉｎｇ Ｆｌａｐｓ ａｎｄ Ｚｏｎｅｓ ｏｆ Ｄｉｆｆ ｅｒｅｎｔｉａｌ Ｅｘｔｅｎｓｉｂｉｌｉｔｙ”）と題された米国特許第５， ３８９，０９４号に一般に記載されている。また生理用ナプキン２０の本体部分 ２２は、両方ともオスボーンその他（Ｏｓｂｏｒｎ ｅｔ ａｌ．）の名前で１ ９９２年７月２３日に提出された米国特許出願番号０７／９１５，１３３及び０ ７／９１５，２８４（共に１９９３年２月４日に公表された、ＰＣＴ公表番号Ｗ Ｏ９３／０１７８５及び９３／０１７８６）に記載されているような生理用ナプ キンの如き１つかそれ以上の伸展性の成分で構成されてよい。 図１から図３はサンドイッチ構造に組み立てられた生理用ナプキン２０の好適 態様を図示しており、トップシート３８とバックシート４０が吸収芯４２の寸法 より全般に大きな長さと幅を有している。トップシート３８とバックシート４０ は吸収芯４２の縁を超えて伸び、周縁部３０の部分を形成する。トップシート３ ８は好ましくは吸収芯４２の身体に面する側に接合され、バックシート４０は好 ましくは吸収芯４２の衣類に面する側に接合される。トップシート３８とバック シート４０は開放パターンの接着剤等の、この目的のために当業者で公知の適当 な方法で吸収芯４２に接合することができる。吸収芯４２の縁を超えて伸びるト ップシート３８とバックシート４０の部分も、好ましくは互いに接合される。ト ップシート３８とバックシート４０のこれらの部分も当業者で公知の適当な方法 で接合することができる。好ましくは、図示した実施態様では、トップシート３ する吸収体」（Ａｂｓｏｒｂｅｎｔ Ａｒｔｉｃｌｅ Ｈａｖｉｎｇ Ｆｌａｐ ｓ Ｗｉｔｈ Ｇａｔｈｅｒｅｄ Ｐｏｒｔｉｏｎｓ”）と題された、同じ譲り 受け人に譲渡された共に係属中の米国特許出願番号０８／３８０，７６９に詳細 に記載されている。 好ましくは生理用ナプキン２０は生理用ナプキン２０を着用者の下着の適所に 固定するためのファスナーを有する。図１及び図２は中央パッド接着剤７４等の 本体部分（または中央パッド）ファスナーと、第１フラップ接着剤（前部フラッ プ接着剤）７６及び第２フラップ接着剤（後部フラップ接着剤）７７等のフラッ プファスナーを備えたファスナーの好ましい配置を示している。生理用ナプキン ２０と共に使用されるファスナーは接着剤ファスナーに制限されない。当業者で 公知の適当なタイプのファスナーをこの目的のために使用することができる。例 えば、生理用ナプキン２０はＶＥＬＣＲＯ（登録商標）の如き機械的ファスナー によって、あるいは接着剤と機械的ファスナーの組み合わせによって着用者の下 着の適所に固定することができるであろう。しかしながら、簡略にするために、 接着剤ファスナーに関してファスナーを説明し、好ましくはこれらのファスナー は感圧接着剤ファスナーである。適当な感圧接着剤ファスナーは米国特許第４， きな寸法を有する。好ましくは、図１，２，７に示すように、主ラッパーシート ８０は生理用ナプキン２０の本体部分２２の縦の側縁２６を超えて伸びる縦の側 部８０Ｄを有する。また主ラッパーシート８０は好ましくは生理用ナプキン２０ の本体部分２２の端縁２８を超えて伸びる第１の端部８０Ａと第２の端部８０Ｂ を有する。しかしながら、生理用ナプキン２０の本体部分２２より大きくないラ ッパーによっても、生理用ナプキン２０の満足できる保護が提供され得ることが 認識されている。 主ラッパーシート８０はどのような適当な材料からも作ることができる。主ラ ッパーシート８０は使用済みラッパー８が生理用ナプキン２０を包んで処分する ために適当であるように、好ましくは液体不浸透性である薄い柔軟な材料から製 造される。例えば、ポリエチレンフィルムがうまく作用することが解っている。 プ２４と第２フラップ２５を包装のためにトップシート３８の上に折り返された 適所に維持する。図１，２，６に示した好適態様では、フラップ接着剤カバー８ １は折り畳まれた構成で第３領域４３に、主ラッパーシート８０の第２の端部８ ０Ｂに隣接して配置される。フラップ接着剤カバー８１は折り畳まれ、第２の端 部８０Ｂと生理用ナプキン２０の端縁２８を間にはさむ。フラップ接着剤カバー ８１は好ましくは主ラッパーシート８０に接合される。 図４に示すように、フラップ接着剤カバー８１が折り返されて主ラッパーシー ト８０に接合される前は、フラップ接着剤カバー８１は好ましくは第１領域３９ と第２領域４１内に伸ばされた構成で広がることができる。フラップ接着剤カバ ー８１は好ましくは第１の端部８１Ｃと、第２の端部８１Ｄと、一対の縦の側部
