However, in practice it is evident that gloves, depending on the material from which they were produced, are resistant to disinfectants for a certain period.

For an evaluation of the resistance of the gloves ? It is necessary to distinguish between degradation, penetration and permeation. The degradation? the physical impairment of the glove material by chemicals. Penetration? the passage of substances through macroscopic holes. The permeation ? the penetration of substances in the molecular area (ie the molecules are absorbed on the surface, spread and are released on the skin from the inside). SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

These and other objects are achieved by means of a disinfectant composition in the form of a foam, as reported in claim 1.

Under another aspect, the present invention relates to a process for the preparation of said composition.

In another aspect, the present invention relates to the use of the composition in hand disinfection.

The features and advantages of the present invention will become apparent from the following detailed description, and from the embodiments provided by way of non-limiting examples.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

The disinfectant composition of the present invention ? in foam form and includes:

- waterfall,

- up to 15% by weight of an emulsifying agent comprising cetyl alcohol, stearyl alcohol, polysorbate 60, or a mixture thereof,

- up to 10% by weight of a filming agent comprising at least one copolymer of vinylpyrrolidone and vinyl acetate,

- 30-75% by weight of a disinfectant agent comprising ethyl alcohol, - up to 10% by weight of a liquefied propellant,

on the weight of the composition.

In preferred embodiments, the disinfectant composition comprises 0.1-5% by weight of cetyl alcohol, 0.1-5% by weight of stearyl alcohol, 0.1-5% by weight of polysorbate 60, or a their mixture, on the weight of the composition.

Preferably, said emulsifying agent comprises a mixture of cetyl alcohol and stearyl alcohol.

Said emulsifying agent can further comprising at least one other non-ionic surfactant, for example selected from polysorbate 20, polysorbate 21, polysorbate 40, polysorbate 80, polysorbate 61, polysorbate 65, polysorbate 81, polysorbate 85, polyglyceride (such as polyglyceryl-2 laurate), or one thereof combination.

The disinfectant composition of the invention also comprises a filming agent, which promotes the formation of a homogeneous layer on the skin, once the foam is released. distributed on the hands.

Preferably, the disinfectant composition comprises 0.5-9% by weight of said filming agent, based on the weight of the composition.

- starches and their derivatives;

- polymers of natural origin (optionally modified), such as pullulan, pectin, mannan, galactomannans, glucomannans and their derivatives, arabic gum, guar gum, xanthan gum, karaya gum; alginates, carrageenans, ulvans and algal colloids; shellac, sandarac gum, dammar resins, elemic resins, copal resins; mucopolysaccharides such as hyaluronic acid or chondroitin sulfate;

- anionic, cationic, amphoteric or non-ionic polymers derived from chitin or chitosan,

- protein polymers, such as wheat proteins or soy proteins; keratin and its derivatives, for example hydrolysates of keratin and sulphonic keratins; casein; albumin; collagen; glutenin; glucagon; gluten; Zein; jellies and their derivatives;

- copolymers of acrylic phosphorylcholine, such as poly-2- (methacryloyloxyethyl) phosphorylcholine sold under the name Lipidure HM by the company? NOF Corporation (INCI name: polyphosphorylcholine glycol acrylate);

- anionic complexes of the gum arabic/gelatin or gum arabic/chitosan or collagen/glycosaminoglycan type;

and blends of these polymers.

The disinfectant composition of the invention also comprises a disinfectant agent, which disinfects hands and protects them from germs.

Preferably, the disinfectant composition comprises 35-70% by weight of said disinfectant agent, based on the weight of the composition.

Pi? preferably, the disinfectant composition comprises 40-65% by weight of said disinfectant agent, based on the weight of the composition.

In preferred embodiments, the disinfectant composition comprises 45-60% by weight of ethyl alcohol.

Said disinfectant agent can? further comprising at least one other alcohol, for example isopropyl alcohol.

The disinfectant composition of the invention also comprises up to 10% by weight of a liquefied propellant. Advantageously, the presence of a liquefied propellant not only allows the foam to be dispensed, as it is precisely a propellant, but also maintains its consistency during storage. In fact, being liquefied, it mixes suitably stabilizing the foam even in the presence of high percentages of disinfectant agent comprising alcohol.

Preferably, the disinfectant composition comprises up to 5% by weight of said liquefied propellant, based on the weight of the composition.

Preferably, said liquefied propellant comprises liquefied petroleum gas (briefly ?LPG? or ?LP gas?), or liquefied natural gas (briefly ?LNG?).

The liquefied propellant can also include one or more other propellants such as butane, isobutane, propane, ethers, such as dimethyl ether, and halogenated compounds, such as difluoroethane.

The disinfectant composition of the invention further comprises water.

Preferably, the disinfectant composition comprises 5-30% by weight of water, based on the weight of the composition.

The disinfectant composition of the invention can further comprise dermatologically acceptable excipients.

Suitable dermatologically acceptable excipients are, for example, wetting agents, pH regulators, isotonia regulators, solvents, stabilizers, chelating agents, diluting agents, binding agents, coloring agents, suspending agents, surfactants, preservative agents, antioxidant agents, vitamins, essential oils and perfumes.

Preferably, the disinfectant composition further comprises at least one wetting agent, which also improves the uniformity? of the skin, the softness and the hydration content, and offers a cooling effect to the skin and nails of the hands. In particular, the humectant draws water from the air into the outer layer of the skin, as well as contributes to the formation of the protective layer on the skin, helping to counteract moisture loss.

Preferably, the disinfectant composition comprises 0.1-5% by weight of wetting agent, based on the weight of the composition.

Suitable wetting agents are ethylene glycol, propylene glycol, hexylene glycol, butylene glycol, glycerin, glyceryl triacetate, polymeric polyols such as polydextrose, and alcohol alcohols such as sorbitol, xylitol and maltitol, and mixtures thereof. In preferred embodiments, the wetting agent comprises ethylene glycol. In such embodiments, the disinfectant composition comprises 1-4% by weight of wetting agent, based on the weight of the composition.

As mentioned, optionally, the composition can? further include: - vitamins, such as vitamin A, vitamin C, vitamin E, or a mixture thereof, - essential oils or perfumes,

- compatible skin and nail conditioning agents in water and others? in an organic medium, e.g. hyaluronic acid, sweet almond oil, jojoba oil, urea, glycerin, or a blend thereof,

In preferred embodiments, the disinfectant composition of the invention comprises:

- waterfall,

- 0.5-10% by weight of an emulsifying agent comprising cetyl alcohol, stearyl alcohol, polysorbate 60, or a mixture thereof,

- 0.5-9% by weight of a filming agent comprising at least one copolymer of vinylpyrrolidone and vinyl acetate,

- 35-70% by weight of a disinfectant agent comprising ethyl alcohol, - up to 10% by weight of a liquefied propellant,

on the weight of the composition.

Pi? preferably, the disinfectant composition of the invention comprises: - water,

- 2-8% by weight of an emulsifying agent comprising cetyl alcohol, stearyl alcohol, polysorbate 60, or a mixture thereof,

- 2-8% by weight of a filming agent comprising at least one copolymer of vinylpyrrolidone and vinyl acetate,

- 40-65% by weight of a disinfectant agent comprising ethyl alcohol, - up to 5% by weight of a liquefied propellant,

on the weight of the composition.

Particularly preferred are the embodiments in which the composition of the invention comprises:

- 5-30% by weight of water,

- 2-8% by weight of an emulsifying agent comprising a mixture of cetyl alcohol, stearyl alcohol, and polysorbate 60,

- 3-7% by weight of a filming agent comprising at least one copolymer of vinylpyrrolidone and vinyl acetate,

- 45-60% by weight of a disinfectant agent comprising ethyl alcohol, - 0.1-5% by weight of wetting agent,

- up to 5% by weight of a liquefied propellant,

on the weight of the composition.

In some embodiments, the disinfectant composition of the present invention essentially consists of: - water, - up to 15% by weight of an emulsifying agent including cetyl alcohol, stearyl alcohol, polysorbate 60, or a mixture thereof, - up to 10% by weight of a filming agent comprising at least a copolymer of vinylpyrrolidone and vinyl acetate, - 30-75% by weight of a disinfectant agent comprising ethyl alcohol, - up to 10% by weight of a liquefied propellant, by weight of the composition, as described above . The expression ?consists essentially of? it means that these ingredients are the only active agents in the composition, respectively for making the composition in the form of a foam and for obtaining the protective and disinfectant layer, when distributed on the hands.

In other embodiments, the disinfectant composition of the present invention consists of: - water, - up to 15% by weight of an emulsifying agent including cetyl alcohol, stearyl alcohol, polysorbate 60, or a mixture thereof, - up to 10% by weight weight of a filming agent comprising at least a copolymer of vinylpyrrolidone and vinyl acetate, - 30-75% by weight of a disinfectant agent comprising ethyl alcohol, - up to 10% by weight of a liquefied propellant, based on the weight of the composition, and dermatologically acceptable excipients , as described above.

The present invention also has the subject is a process for the preparation of the disinfectant composition, said process comprising the steps of:

i) supply and mix said emulsifying agent and disinfectant agent, until their complete dissolution,

ii) adding and mixing said filming agent, ed

iii) add and mix water and, optionally, dermatologically acceptable excipients.

iv) dosing the mixture obtained at point iii) into a cylinder/bottle, crimping a valve and dosing, for example by means of a suitable filling machine, the liquefied propellant.

Following the dosing of liquefied propellant, the cylinder/can is pressurized.

Preferably, in step i), the ingredients are mixed at mild temperatures, for example at 30-50°C, to facilitate dissolution.

Preferably, in step iii), the water and, optionally, the excipients are heated to mild temperatures, for example 30-50°C, before being added to the mixture obtained in step ii).

The present invention also has the object is a method for disinfecting and protecting hands, by applying the disinfectant composition, as described above.

The present invention also relates to a hand disinfection and protection device comprising the disinfectant composition described above, inserted inside a pressurized can.

The method includes the following steps:

a) dispense a nut of the composition in the form of foam from a pressurized can into the palm of a hand,

b) apply the composition on the hands, spreading it evenly by massaging and rubbing, until a homogeneous dry layer is formed, and, optionally,

This composition can be housed in a chamber in a pressurized can of the conventional type (aerosol type), preferably made of aluminium, equipped with a valve that can be opened with manual pressure, directly in communication with the chamber. On a hollow stem of the valve can? be attached to a foam dispenser button or an aerosol spray that nebulizes and dispenses the product when the valve is pressed through the cap.

EXAMPLES

Example 1.

? The following disinfectant composition was prepared in the form of a foam, mixed with a propellant:

Cetyl alcohol, stearyl alcohol and polysorbate 60 were mixed and heated to 45°C until completely dissolved.

Subsequently, ? the VP/VA copolymer was added, still under mixing.

Finally, water and ethylene glycol (pre-mixed and heated to 45°C) were added.

The resulting product? dosed in a cylinder, the valve ? crimped and the propellant is dosed. The bottle? equipped with valve with operation in upright or upside down position and foamer button.

Claims (11)

1. Disinfectant composition, in the form of a foam and comprising: - waterfall, - up to 15% by weight of an emulsifying agent comprising cetyl alcohol, stearyl alcohol, polysorbate 60, or a mixture thereof, - up to 10% by weight of a filming agent comprising at least one copolymer of vinylpyrrolidone and vinyl acetate, - 30-75% by weight of a disinfectant agent comprising ethyl alcohol, - up to 10% by weight of a liquefied propellant, on the weight of the composition. 2. The disinfectant composition of claim 1, comprising 0.5-10% by weight of said emulsifying agent, based on the weight of the composition, preferably 2-8% by weight. 3. The disinfectant composition of claim 1 or 2, comprising 0.5-9% by weight of said filming agent, based on the weight of the composition, preferably 2-8% by weight. 4. The disinfectant composition of any one of claims 1-3, comprising 35-70% by weight of said disinfectant agent, based on the composition weight, preferably 40-65% by weight. 5. The disinfectant composition of any one of claims 1-4, comprising 5-30% by weight of water, based on the weight of the composition. The disinfectant composition of any one of claims 1-5, further comprising 0.1-5% by weight of wetting agent, based on the weight of the composition. 7. The disinfectant composition of any one of claims 1-6, comprising: - waterfall, - 0.5-10% by weight of an emulsifying agent comprising cetyl alcohol, stearyl alcohol, polysorbate 60, or a mixture thereof, - 0.5-9% by weight of a filming agent comprising at least one copolymer of vinylpyrrolidone and vinyl acetate, - 35-70% by weight of a disinfectant agent comprising ethyl alcohol, - up to 10% by weight of a liquefied propellant, on the weight of the composition. 8. The disinfectant composition of claim 7, comprising: - waterfall, - 2-8% by weight of an emulsifying agent comprising cetyl alcohol, stearyl alcohol, polysorbate 60, or a mixture thereof, - 2-8% by weight of a filming agent comprising at least one copolymer of vinylpyrrolidone and vinyl acetate, - 40-65% by weight of a disinfectant agent comprising ethyl alcohol, - up to 5% by weight of a liquefied propellant, on the weight of the composition. 9. The disinfectant composition of claim 8, comprising: - 5-30% by weight of water, - 2-8% by weight of an emulsifying agent comprising a mixture of cetyl alcohol, stearyl alcohol, and polysorbate 60, - 3-7% by weight of a filming agent comprising at least one copolymer of vinylpyrrolidone and vinyl acetate, - 45-60% by weight of a disinfectant agent comprising ethyl alcohol, - 0.1-5% by weight of wetting agent, - up to 5% by weight of a liquefied propellant, on the weight of the composition. 10. Method for hand disinfection and protection, the method including the steps of: a) dispensing from a pressurized canister a nut of the composition in the form of a foam, of claim 1, into the palm of a hand, b) apply the composition on the hands, spreading it evenly by massaging and rubbing, until a homogeneous dry layer is formed, and, optionally, c) repeat phases a) and b). 11. Device for disinfecting and protecting hands comprising a pressurized bottle equipped with a valve and a dispensing button for operating said valve, the composition of claims 1-9 being housed inside the pressurized bottle.
