Description
Cornice sonora con dispositivo di enfatizzazione acustica. Sound frame with acoustic emphasis device.
BACKGROUND DELL'INVENZIONE. BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION.
The areas from which the device according to the idea of the invention arises are those of Acoustics and the technique of sound diffusion.
CAMPO DI APPLICAZIONE DELL'INVENZIONE. FIELD OF APPLICATION OF THE INVENTION.
La presente invenzione si applica ai seguenti dispositivi: The present invention applies to the following devices:
1. Framed paintings with oil painted canvas, prints or other type of representation.
2. Stampe in generale dotate di cornice. 2. Prints in general with a frame.
3. Frames with aesthetic functions in which there is at least one rigid, semi-rigid or flexible front surface and equipped with an internal volume of air, when hung on a wall or not.
4. Public and / or industrial sound diffusion devices not comparable to the category of high fidelity loudspeakers.
STATO DELL'ARTE. STATE OF THE ART.
J., NO.14 (2000)”. Sound diffusion devices, commonly known as loudspeakers, are a practical application of Acoustic Physics. In their great variety of shapes, sizes and manufacturing technologies, they are always attributable to a material subjected to the vibration of a driver, or a loudspeaker, which transduces an electrical signal into a proportional variation of the acoustic pressure. Generally, when you want to obtain a small-sized audio speaker to be positioned in a domestic environment, various types of acoustic loading of the speaker are used in order to increase the response in the audio band and, consequently, the pleasure of listening. In domestic environments there are a great variety of objects with aesthetic functions that could be used as sound diffusion devices. By analogy of form, one of these families is represented by the frames of the paintings or by the prints or by everything that is similar to the shape of these objects. In these devices, the frame creates a volume of air between the canvas and the wall, or between the canvas and the rear bottom of the frame when present, such that it can be used as a means of acoustic diffusion. In this regard, the license DE4326631A1 shows how this volume of air, suitably excited by loudspeakers positioned in the lateral edge of this frame, can act as a whole as a stereophonic acoustic diffuser. The US patent 3,848,090 shows, on the other hand, how, with suitable technical devices, it is possible to insert a loudspeaker and obtain an acoustic loading of the same, in the rear area of the frame, through an opening acting as an acoustic resonator. This loading exploits the principle of the “Helmholtz resonator” to widen the acoustic band reproduced towards the low frequencies only. The front part of the loudspeaker, on the other hand, vibrates the front panel of the frame, which behaves similarly to a cone of a flat loudspeaker, diffusing the part of the medium-high acoustic band into the room. The acoustic loading of the loudspeaker is similarly proposed also in the CN 2702564Y license while the GB 1379984 license integrates the loudspeaker membrane with the canvas itself fixed in the frame, obtaining a device for the sound diffusion as similar as possible to the decorative object. . This solution is certainly preferable for a substantial reason: the sound generated by the vibration of a large and flat surface has some characteristics of propagation in the air, already known, similar to acoustic drivers called NXT, as appropriately documented in the publication "Development of Flat Panel Speaker for Personal Computers - FUJITSU TEN TECH. J., NO.14 (2000) ". This propagation of sound in the air, when applied in a domestic environment for purposes other than those of High Fidelity proper, is very efficient and manifests itself when listening with a better three-dimensional diffusion in space than classic acoustic boxes. The use of such drivers in a frame is applied, for example, in the license CN 200944661. What is not highlighted in the state of the art technique, however, is that the real frequency response and acoustic performance of a surface whose fine is the aesthetic one (like a canvas of a painting) inserted in a frame and acting as an acoustic diffuser, it is not always optimized and therefore can be completely unsatisfactory to the listener's ear in some domestic applications. This non-homogeneity of behavior depends on the variety, for example, of the dimensions of the frame and of the canvases, of their constituent materials, of the different volumes of air between the canvas itself and the bottom of the frame or the wall.
RIASSUNTO DELL'INVENZIONE. SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION.
The device according to the Idea of the Invention proposes a characterization of the frequency response in the reproduced audio band of the acoustic frame, through the multiple use of "n" groups of resonant tubes open on both sides, tuned to specific frequencies determined by the value correction or emphasis of certain portions of the audio band to be reproduced from the sound frame. This timbre capacity given by the groups of resonant tubes can favorably modify the overall response of the entire sound frame, acting selectively on some reproduced frequency bands. Furthermore, while in a High Fidelity loudspeaker or for monitoring applications in the recording studio, an attempt is made to make the acoustic response extremely linear, that is to reproduce the audio frequencies without excessive emphasis between them, in this application the purpose of the invention it is also that of making this band capable of privileging useful frequency areas, for example, to allow the voice of a sung piece to spread easily in a domestic environment and to be more intelligible. It has been shown that some frequency response curves are suitable for different purposes: for example in traditional loudspeakers an emphasis on low frequencies makes some types of music played with rhythmic instruments more engaging, the purpose of which is to spread in dance halls. .

In Fig10 a sectional side view showing a particular anchoring of the driver to the wire in order to improve the frequency response.
According to the Idea of the Invention, one or more electric drivers of the "NXT" type or similar are applied [Fig1 (10)] [Fig2 (22)] [Fig3 (33)] to the fabric or to the semi-rigid surface [Fig1 ( 11)] [Fig2 (20)] [Fig3 (34)] of the frame [Fig1 (12)] [Fig3 (30)] in order to make the same membrane cloth as a loudspeaker. This frame is then equipped with a group or “n” groups of resonant tubes open on both sides [Fig1 (13)] [Fig2 (21)] [Fig3 (32)] and positioned on the sides of the frame. Each single resonant tube is characterized by a length [Fig5 (50)] and an opening diameter [Fig5 (51)] such as to give an enhancement of the frequencies close to the Acoustic Resonance generated by their dimensions. An opening of the pipes is positioned inside the volume of air formed by the frame, the canvas and the wall, or by the closing bottom of the frame itself [Fig4 (41)]. The other opening communicates with the outside of the frame [Fig4 (40)]. It has been shown that these tubes, when subjected to the moving air passage of the canvas moved by the acoustic drivers, resonate, in good approximation, as open cavities according to the relationship:
Fr = (N x V) / 2 x (Ly 0.3 x Dx) Fr = (N x V) / 2 x (Ly 0.3 x Dx)
Utilizzando tali tecniche note, è possibile predisporre una cornice secondo l'Idea dell'invenzione totalmente priva di connessioni elettriche cablate e compliance con i più avanzati sistemi Domotici ed Audio Entertainment. where Fr identifies the Resonance frequency of the open tube, V the speed of sound, “N” the multiple of the length of the tube, Ly the length of the tube and Dx its diameter. In this application according to the Idea of the Invention, therefore, the low frequency resonance (16Hz-200Hz) typical of the Helmholtz resonator configuration is not affected as such tubes are not designed to resonate in this audio frequency band. The object of the invention, in fact, is to model appropriately the medium-low, medium and medium-high audio frequency bands, ie the overall band between 200Hz and 8KHz. By designing these resonant tubes taking into account the frequency response of the sound frame with the electric drivers applied to the canvas or to the semi-rigid material but without the aforementioned tubes resulting from the idea of the invention, it is possible to correct and / or emphasize the total frequency response of the frame. This operation allows you to work on almost all the dimensions of the frames, optimizing the results obtained from time to time. The necessary condition for the device according to the idea of the invention to work at its best, is to make the front canvas or the material semi-rigid or rigid, airtight along the edges of the frame and in its constituent matrix. . Another necessary requirement is a minimum of mobility of the same material along the anchorage at the four edges of the frame. These conditions in the case of a painting or an aesthetic frame to be hung on a wall, are easily reachable by the known technique, even when already present in the paintings of the frames. These characteristics can also be reached from a frame that encloses a mirror, which, in addition to being not permeable to air, can be conveniently connected to the frame by means of an elastic perimeter joint. The acoustic drivers [Fig6 (60)] must be connected through a wiring [Fig6 (61)] to an audio amplifier. According to the Idea of the Invention it is possible to apply an audio amplifier within the same frame using the technology called “Class D” (digital amplifiers) [Fig7 (71)] [Fig9 (95)] [Fig8 (81)]. In fact, these technologies allow for minimum dimensions and a completely negligible weight. By integrating these amplifiers with a magnetic coupling electrical power receiver of the WPC compliance type [Fig8 (82)], it is extremely possible to power this amplifier without the use of electrical cables coming out of the frame [Fig7 (73)]. These WPC receivers and transmitters are already available in the State of the Art and manage powers in the order of 10 / 15W in surfaces of 1dm <2> (ref. "Texas Instruments - PWR695 Wireless Power Receiver" and "Texas Instruments - BQTesla Power Wireless TX ”) The WPC receiving antenna can be conveniently positioned on the back of the frame [Fig9 (94)]. This antenna is mutually coupled to a second WPC antenna [Fig9 (97)] which transmits the electrical power and positioned in the surface portion of a wall [Fig9 (91)] inside a special junction box [Fig9 ( 92)] and in turn connected to the home automation circuit of a house by wiring [Fig9 (93)]. It is also possible to transmit the audio stream to be reproduced wirelessly using one of the many protocols available, for example Bluetooth, NFC, or the wireless standard of the WLAN [Fig7 (72)]. Using these known techniques, it is possible to prepare a frame according to the Idea of the invention totally free of wired electrical connections and compliance with the most advanced Domotic and Audio Entertainment systems.

In the example, the diameter of the tubes is kept fixed at 15mm, which is a diameter applicable to almost all the frames, while the length of the tubes has been varied. For those frames in which there is no closure in the back, an event that would lead to not creating a volume of air useful to be piloted by the canvas during its function as a speaker, it is possible to take advantage of the same wall on which the frame is hung as rear closing panel. The positioning of a soft gasket on the bottom of the frame [Fig 3 (35)] allows the air seal inside the frame. In those frames where the coupling between the acoustic driver and the front surface of the frame is difficult, it is possible to mount this driver [Fig10 (101)] on a small surface of semi-rigid material [Fig10 (102)] therefore brought to contact with the front surface of the frame [Fig10 (103)]. A screw [Fig10 (106)] through a threaded guide [Fig10 (105)] fixed in the rear part of the frame [Fig10 (104)] when placed in contact with the body of the acoustic driver [Fig10 (101)] allows to increase or decrease the pressure of the acoustic driver on the front surface of the frame by modifying the mechanical coupling between the two elements. This results in a different acoustic response of the whole frame, especially at low frequencies.
