Abstract
A system and method for systematically varying the memory size in data stream processing to improve the connection degree sketch is provided. The system and method receives input data such as IP address or TV program identifiers. The length of the address is encoded in order to increase the memory size of the input data using suitable error correction technique. Connection degree sketch is built using bit arrays and hash functions based on Chinese-Remainder Theorem (CRT). Reverse sketching technique is applied using Chinese-Remainder Theorem (CRT) on the encoded data. Appropriate decoding technique is selected in order to decode the encoded data such that the decoded data is of the length of the original input data. The system provides better performance by reducing false positives and false negatives.
