A cylinder lock, comprising: a first cylinder housing in which a first rotor is rotatably disposed and is coupled to a cam; and a connecting element attached to said first cylinder housing, said connecting element comprising an elongate bar with a plurality of housing attachment holes formed therein, said elongate bar comprising a hub with a lock mounting hole formed therein, and a profile element snap fit over said hub.
2. The cylinder lock according to claim 1, wherein said profile element comprises at least one lug which snaps fit into at least one recess formed in said connecting element.
3. The cylinder lock according to claim 1 or claim 2, further comprising a second cylinder housing in which a second rotor is rotatably disposed, each of said rotors being coupled to said cam, and wherein said connecting element is attached to both said first and second cylinder housings.
4. The cylinder lock according to any of the preceding claims, wherein said connecting element fits into a mortise formed in said first cylinder housing and said housing attachment holes are alignable at a selected position with at least one mounting hole formed in said first cylinder housing, and a fastener secures said connecting element to said first cylinder housing.
5. The cylinder lock according to any of the preceding claims, wherein said hub is centrally located on a centerline of said cylinder lock.
6. The cylinder lock according to any of the preceding claims, wherein said housing attachment holes are formed on opposite sides of a centerline of said cylinder lock.
7. The cylinder lock according to any of the preceding claims, further comprising at least one spacer element positioned between said cam and said first cylinder housing.
8. The cylinder lock according to claim 7, wherein said profile element comprise a lug that fits into a mortise formed in at least one of said first cylinder housing and said at least one spacer element.
9. The cylinder lock according to any of the preceding claims, further comprising a gap-filling element formed with a chamfer that abuts a chamfer formed on said connecting element.
