Abstract

The invention relates to a device and method designed for monitoring, in real time, the radio listening options of a listener being at home, in his car or when he uses a portable radio receiver. This device is used for collecting, storing and transmitting, in real time, the listener's radio options, the geographical position, and his demographic data for the accurate measurement of listening. This device collects from the user's radio receiver digital and analogue information (e.g. radio stations frequency received by the local radio oscillator circuit of the radio receiver (FM or AM), the radio data system (RDS), the acoustic samples, the demographic data of the user and the GPS data. This device provides directly the display of the radiolistener's options sent, in real time, to a central computerized system and available to companies dealing with radio listening measurements, advertising companies, radio stations etc.
