Abstract

996,195. Air-lift pumps. AERO HYDRAULICS Ltd. Nov. 5, 1962 [Aug. 3, 1961], No. 28279/61. Heading FIR. [Also in Division B1] Apparatus for mixing and destratifying liquids, suspersions and dispersions in a container comprises a gas emitting disdistributer located at the base of a conduit which is secured to the bottom of the container; the distributer emits intermittently bubbles of gas which are large enough to fill the enter crosssection of the conduit and which pass up it taking with them liquid from the lower to the higher level. As shown the distributer 10 is located below the bottom end of a riser tube 1 in a tank 21 and is supplied with gas through pipes 21, 25, 26. The tank has a gasholder type roof 23 from which the pipes 25, 26 may depend through the riser tube so that the distributer 10 may be raised by them. Gas exhausted through the pipe 24 is recirculated by the pump 20. Specifications 805,789 and 967,543 are referred to.
