A liquid delivery recorder, used to record data relating to the delivery of a fuel such as oil from a road tanker, comprises a liquid delivery meter and a time stamp means which stamps the times that dispensing starts and finishes on a customer's ticket. As described, the vehicle driver inserts a ticket and copy with interleaved carbon in a slot 4, rotates a handle 19 causing a pin 23 to pierce the ticket so that it cannot be removed without further damage, and also closes a switch 30 so that a solenoid 18 is energized to press a gallonage counter 29 downwardly so that the initial reading of the liquid meter is recorded on the ticket at A. When dispensing commences a flow switch 7 is closed so that solenoid 11 is energized to stamp the initial time on the ticket at B. A solenoid 12 then operates to shift the stamping wheels 15, 16 together with their associated solenoids &c. in a position in which the time and gallonage are recorded in response to a further rotation of the handle 19 when delivery is complete. The pin 23 can only be raised after the latter stamping has been completed. In a modification (Fig. 3 not shown) the solenoid 11 moves the slot 4 and the locking mechanism and pin 23 horizontally, while the stamping wheels remain stationary.
