Abstract

978,883. Toothbrushes. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. Sept. 5, 1962 [Sept. 7, 1961], No. 34005/62. Heading A4K. [Also in Division E2] A spigot and socket joint between a toothbrush shank 8 and a drive shaft 2 of a motor unit is latched by the engagement of tooth 17, on resilient arm 20, in a recess 18 or 19. On depressing raised portion 23, tooth 17 retracted into a central slot which encloses arm 20 and the shank may be withdrawn from the socket. The shank is of moulded cellulose ester and has a groove 24 along which any liquid which has accumulated in the socket, when empty, may be displaced.
