Abstract
969,914. Inductor-attenuators. SIEMENSSCHUCKERTWERKE A.G. July 12, 1961 [July 14, 1960], No. 25326/61. Heading H2A. An alternating current generator has an interdigitated rotor including claw pole wheels 3, 4, and a stator housing 8, 9, 10 through which passes a magnetic flux produced by two exciter coils 19, 20 mounted at opposite ends of the rotor on annular supports fixed in relation to the housing and directly surround the shaft of the generator, the exciter windings producing magnetization in the same axial direction, each claw pole wheel having a radial planar surface which faces a radial planar surface of an adjacent one of the annular supports and is spaced therefrom by an air-gap the width of which extends parallel to the shaft and each claw pole wheel also having a cylindrical surface which faces a cylindrical surface of a respective annular support and is spaced therefrom by a air-gap the width of which extends radially. In Fig. 1 the claw wheels 3, 4 are separated by a non-magnetic spacer 5 of cast aluminium. The shaft 1 is made of non-magnetic material and the stator stampings 11 are separated from the stator shell 10 by a non-magnetic aluminium ring 21. In a modification, Fig. 2 (not shown), the rotor comprises two claw wheels directly mounted on the non-magnetic shaft and separated by an air gap.
