Abstract

906,278. Lens mounts. HENSOLDT & SOHNE, OPTISCHE WERKE A.G., M. Aug. 22, 1960 [Sept. 5, 1959; Jan. 28, 1960], No. 28919/60. Class 97 (1). A lens mount consists of two components forming one closed unit in the assembled condition, grooves being provided within each component for accepting the rims of lenses, at least one contact piece made of elastic material being provided in each groove for contacting the lens therein and the components being surrounded by a sleeve for the purpose of keeping them together. As shown, the lens mount consists of semicylindrical parts 1 and 2 which are prevented from relative axial movement by the engagement of a tongue on one part in a groove on the other and which are maintained in assembled relationship by a metal sleeve 12. The two components are preferably cast from a synthetic resin material for example a polyamide resin and are provided with internal grooves 4 for the reception of the rims of lenses 3. Within each groove there are four lugs 7 which when the two components 1 and 2 are pressed together serve to press against the lenses and hold them in fixed positions. These lugs may be arcuate or bridge shaped.
