Abstract
905,708. Bed-tables. YOUNG, T. N. Dec. 19, 1960 [Dec. 17, 1959], No. 43666/60. Class 52 (3). An attachment for a bed comprises side rails 7 which in use are situated lengthwise of the bed and extend between the legs 2 on each side of the bed, the side rails acting as guides for one or more frame members 8 provided on each side of the bed and having secured to them at their upper ends a tray or container member 11 which extends across and above the bed, the frame member or members 8 on each side of the bed being secured at its or their lower end or ends to a casing 9 provided with rollers 10 which engage the respective side rail 7, the arrangement being such that the frame members 8, with the tray or container member 11 can readily be moved lengthwise of the side rails for positioning of the member 11 in any desired position above the bed. The casings 9 are joined by a strengthening rail 12. A cord 13 passing over pulleys 14 on the member 11 and the end piece 4 of the bed is provided so that the occupant of the bed may move the member 11 along the rails 7 to the required position. Alternatively, a motorized mechanism may be provided to move the member 11.
