894,829. Endless chain elevators. SOVEX Ltd. May 28, 1959 [May 28, 1958], No. 17064/58. Class 78 (1) Trays 2 on frames 1, each supported about an axis 8 on an endless chain 5 passing round sprocket wheels 6, 7 are guided vertically by a roller 10, an anti-friction pad 10a, and a roller 11 with a flange 11a engaging guide tracks 9a on either side of the chain. As the chain passes round the wheels 6, 7, the roller 11 or its pivot 13 is engaged by notched pilot wheels 16, 17, respectively, driven at the same speed as the sprocket wheels, the tracks being divided in order that the roller 10 on the rear of the chain passes round the track 9b and the roller 11 on the front of the chain passes round the track 9c. To prevent swaying of the frames 1 from front to back, they are provided with anti-friction pads 14 which bear against track surfaces 15. Additional rollers 18 or slipper blocks may be provided to engage guide tracks 19, 19a or rails 20 at suitable locations. The sprocket wheels 6, 7 may each be replaced by two smaller wheels, in which case the pilot wheels are each replaced by a chain provided with notches in the outer sides of its links.
