Abstract

890,068. Bottle carriers. METAL BOX CO. Ltd. May 6, 1960 [Aug. 25, 1959], No. 29116/59. Classes 18 and 133. A cardboard bottle carrier comprises a top 1 and a base 2 spaced apart by bottle separating elements 3, 4 hinged to the longitudinal sides of the top 1 and the base 2 and being bowed towards each other from the hinges to provide a partition between two rows of bottles including bottle locating portions 9, 10 and 11, 12 to underlie the top 1 and slope towards the base 2 and overlie the base 4 and slope towards the top respectively, the portions 9, 10 being cut at 14 to permit the bottle necks to protrude therethrough and the portions 11, 12 being cut at 13 to permit the bottles to rest on the base 2. The portions 9, 10 are hinged at 16, 17 respectively to the elements 3, 4. Flaps 18 extending from the ends of the openings 13 are perpendicular to the base 2 when the carrier is erected. Flaps 19 are turned inwardly to form finger apertures 20 to facilitate carrying the carrier. In a modification, Fig. 4, the two end flaps 2 of the blank form the top of the carrier and handle portions 21 to be adhered or stapled together are provided.
