Abstract
The invention comprises thiophosphoric acid esters of formula: <FORM:0864433/IV (b)/1> where R, R1 and R2 are C1-4 alkyl, X is oxygen or sulphur and n is 0, 1 or 2. They may be prepared by reacting a 4-(a -chloromethyl) phenyl alkyl sulphide, sulphoxide or sulphone with a salt, e.g. the ammonium salt, of a 0, 0-dialkyl thiol- or thionothiol-phosphoric acid. Elevated temperatures are preferred and an inert solvent may be used. The sulphoxide and sulphones may be obtained by oxidation of the corresponding sulphide either before or after reaction with the phosphorus compound. Specification 808,879 is referred to.ALSO:Insecticidal compositions comprise a thiophosphoric acid ester of formula <FORM:0864433/VI/1> where R, R1 and R2 are C1-4 alkyl, X is oxygen or sulphur and n is 0, 1 or 2, together with an inert diluent. A specified composition contains dimethyl formamide and an aromatic polyglycol ether. Specification 808,879 is referred to.
