Abstract

850,457. Paper and like bags. ROBINSON (CANADA) Ltd., E. S. & A. Dec. 4, 1958 [Dec. 10, 1957], No. 39160/58. Class 94(2). A paper, cellophane or other non-fibrous paper bag comprises inner and outer walls 12, 11, and spaced apart normally closed flaps 17, 16 cut in each wall, the inner flap 17 underlying an unweakened area of the overlying wall 11 and being exposed after the outer flap 16 has commenced to tear through the unweakened area. The inner flap may be cut or perforated and may have a spot of adhesive 18 attaching it to the underside of the wall 11 so that it automatically opens when the outer flap is partially torn. To prevent movement between the two plys of the bag, adhesive spots 19, 20 may be added.
