Abstract

848,360. Controllers; switch cases. NETTLE ACCESSORIES Ltd. Feb. 19, 1959 [March 28, 1958], No. 9990/58. Classes 38 (3) and 38 (5). A pendant switch unit comprises four switchsegments 2 and a base portion 3 with projecting spigots 4 which are covered by lips 5 to form weatherproof joints. Bolts 6 pass through metal bushes 7 and thread into tapped inserts 8 in a top portion 1, each bush having an enlarged head 9 which receives the lower end of the bush above, or, in the case of the uppermost bush, the lower end of the insert 8. Metal plates 11 for stiffening are moulded into the spigots. Each switch-segment comprises a push-button switch, the button of which is covered by a flexible cap, bonded to the body of the switch-segment, and is protected by a projecting lip. A further moulded lip receives a disc for identifying the switch. The inserts 8 pass through a stiffening plate 16 having lugs 17 for suspending the switch unit. A cable inlet 20 has a clamp 21 for securing the cable in a weatherproof manner.
